A walk around my wetland recently showed a group of small Red-Browed Finches hopping around for seeds. I only had my 18-150mm lens on so this image has been cropped. It was lovely to see such a beautiful wee bird. Happy Wind Wednesday.
Red-bellied Woodpeckers are pale, medium-sized woodpeckers common in forests of the East. Learn the Red-bellied's rolling call and you’ll notice these birds everywhere.

Sonoma, CA - Had a visit to Cornerstone and walked the campus with camera in hand. Lots of art to explore and photograph. There is something to be said about experiencing art on the canvas of the outdoors.

The Red Arrows performed on all 4 days at Airbourne in Eastbourne. We saw 3 of the displays but the sun only shone for one of them, these shots were taken from the roof terrace of our hotel where a collection of very fine large lenses appeared but I did my best with my unprofessional 55-250 mm ordinary Canon ha ha.
Took this close up of this Red Squirrel when I was in Scotland in August when the weather was much better than it is at the moment.

I was glad when I heard my Red-bellied Woodpecker this afternoon. I hadn't heard or seen him in a couple weeks and was afraid one of our Hawks may have gotten him.
The was working on a hole on this branch when a Downy showed up on a branch above him and this is him telling the Downy to hit the road.
Red Winter Sunset weather changing this time of year makes for some colorful sunset in North Carolina.

Most red admirals are migrants to the UK from North Africa and continental Europe, This familiar and distinctive insect may be found anywhere in Britain and Ireland and in all habitat types.
Starting each spring and continuing through the summer there are northward migrations, which are variable in extent and timing, from North Africa and continental Europe. The immigrant females lay eggs and consequently there is an emergence of fresh butterflies, from about July onwards. They continue flying into October or November and are typically seen nectaring on garden buddleias or flowering Ivy and on rotting fruit.
There is an indication that numbers have increased in recent years and that overwintering has occurred in the far south of England.
