this is my first decent shot of a red one. The most interesting one I've seen but for which I only had a cell phone was a red one like this perched on some red coneflowers displayed for sale in front of a local Lowes. At first I didn't even think it was real then I realized it was and how interesting it was for it to hone in on that colored flower in the sea of concrete which was the surrounding landscape.
Classic red wool hearts. I really love how this wool turned out. You never really know how felted sweaters are going to turn out, but this is especially thick and lovely. It was a joy to sew.
I'm not exactly sure but I think this is a type of pheasant and with the coloring it has to be a male!!

one of the few instances that I'm sharing a client work, here's our lovely debutante with her equally stunning red gown.
One from a recent trip to the Cotswolds. This was flying over the cottage we stayed in, so I hid in the trees to try and hide from it but I think I've been spotted.

‘A THOUGHTFUL FORAGE.’
An image made at the edge of a grazing marsh field on a glorious late winter’s day. A cloudless blue sky and hot, sunny weather rivalled any conditions you could expect on the finest June day but working from a pop-up hide became increasingly uncomfortable. I didn’t expect to shed so many layers of clothing and utilise every ventilation zip the hide had ... in February!
Encounters like this one made all of my discomfort worthwhile though :-)

A rarely-seen red-headed woodpecker (Melanerpes erythrocephalus) at my wife's backyard feeder. Since moving to Kentucky in 2016, we have seen just three of these birds and we were astonished to see one come so close to the house. It came back several times over a period of about three days, but we have not seen it again since.
