'Red' is a handcrafted shoe manufacturer in Machynlleth, mid Wales.
Although the property is painted red, the name is derived from the initials of the name of the founder of the shoe-making business.

A visit in mid June to spend time in the company of wild Red Foxes. Weather was warm and muggy. But i'm still yet to see young cubs. Only adult Foxes were seen and again they are quite nervous.

This Red-headed Barbet (Eubucco bourcierii) perched calmly on a mossy branch at La Minga Ecolodge in Dapa, near Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, its red head and white collar sharply defined against the soft green forest. Its yellow underparts and rich green wings stood out even in the low, diffused light of this cloud-forest edge. The species ranges from Costa Rica and Panama through Colombia, Venezuela and Guyana to Ecuador and Peru, between 400 and 2,400 meters. It eats caterpillars, other insects and fruit such as berries, and at feeders it takes bananas. IUCN lists it as Least Concern.
I photographed it with a Canon R5 and the RF 800mm f/11, at 1/500 sec, f/11, ISO 6400, −0.5 EV. Cali, Yumbo, La Cumbre and Dagua have committed to conserving the San Antonio–Km 18 Key Biodiversity Area, the cloud forest around La Minga, along with its water sources.

This Red-winged Blackbird was seen singing out LOUD at the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve. I love their energy !

How's about a great big red HMM kiss. The lip colour is Loreal True Red. Used the reversed mount ring method with my 50 mm lens.

Psephotus haematonotus.
A medium sized but slender parrot the male Red-rumped parrot is bright green with a blue-green head, a red rump with yellow shoulders and belly.
Like many species of birds the female has duller olive green colourings with a green rump and dull yellow or light green on the belly.
At their fledging stage of life the young parrots the colouring of the young birds is always a dull colour.
Mating for life it is the female who chooses and prepared the nesting site which is generally in a hollow and aging eucalypt tree.
Once the eggs are laid which generally occurs on a rotting wooden bed in the nest the female will incubate the eggs during which time the male ensures that the female is fed.

One of my fav lifers from this past year, the Red Breasted Sapsucker is a beautiful bird and should really be named the red-headed sapsucker given how vivid crimson that head is!
This is a picture of a female Red Kangaroo. This female has a Joey (baby) that has its head in her pouch to suckle. There is also another baby (pouch young) in her pouch that would be suckling on another nipple. I like this shot as it shows the Kangaroos in their bush context. This is the kind of habitat they live in.
These shots were taken at Pinnaroo Memorial Park. This is a very special memorial park near us that doesnt do burials but you can have plaques placed in the native bush setting. Its a magical place where the wild kangaroos roam wild and early morning and evening you can see them grazing on the grass around all the remembrance plaques and then during the day they retreat into the surrounding bushland. Its in the bushland that I captured these roos. This memorial park is a magical place.

Spent the day looking for wildlife and seen two fox, one a cross fox and this red fox. The cross fox ran off before I could get a picture, but it was beautiful. This was taken about 30 miles northeast of Fairbanks in whats known as Chatanika Valley. It is an old mining district with a Gold Dredge and the old FE Gold camp located nearby. There is still a lot of active gold mines in the area. I prefer the wildlife over the gold even though I'll never get rich from photography.
The fox looks healthy however, the fox's left eye, (right eye as viewing the photo) looks like it might be blind. The fox was hunting in the fresh snow for rodents but didn't find any while it was close to me.

My inherited horse from a dear friend that passed...hard to believe she's been gone for two years; I miss talking to her about horses and commiserating over hay. I think Donna would love this image. It was a rocky start with Red and the rest of my horses (many people told me to give up on him) but he has settled down quite nicely now that my oldest horse Aztec has reclaimed his status in the herd as the BOSS. Not sure what happened but it's a Godsend. Red is very intelligent and has developed great trust in me, and trust is everything. I believe animals act out and grieve too, now that I witnessed it first hand. Red is a real people lover and the first one to come up to see what I'm up to. He also lets a rather excited 16 month old sit on his back without anyone holding him. His training will resume in the Fall when the mosquitoes are gone.,,,so far so good. He's not a fan of mosquitoes and tried to come in the house with me several times. LOL

Red Cliff Bridge is a cantilevered steel arch bridge located about 0.5 mi (0.80 km) southwest of the town of Red Cliff, Colorado. The bridge spans 471 feet, just over 200 feet above the Eagle River.
The bridge was designed by King Burghardt, an engineer at the Colorado Department of Highways, and built by contractor P.M. Kenney in 1940. Construction was difficult, with workers hanging over a 200 ft (61 m) drop while working in temperatures that sometimes dipped below 0 °F (−18 °C). Burghardt wrote in his journal, "In the morning, each gang was lifted to its scaffold on a platform hung from the high line. They took their lunches with them and spent the entire day in the air with the winter wind continually blowing up the canyon.
I've posted a photo I took in Oct 2020 of this bridge. This photo was taken on April 16th, 2021 following a spring snowfall, which seemed to add a bit to the drama I feel when we travel over it.
