The sun came good for this late afternoon shot. Here we see ZSSK Cargo locomotive 131061 and 131062 with a westbound freight train, captured in Strba on the 4/7/18. This was the last shot of the day after which the sun was lost.

Here we see an ariel shot of 33108 working the late running 11:30 service from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster on the afternoon of the 21/5/23. The train was captured at Victoria Bridge in Arley as the railway line crosses the River Seven.

With the sun just swinging round, OBB locomotives 1144 267 (front) and 1116 132 (rear) were captured passing through Hogmoos, Austria on the 4/2/19 heading in the Worgl direction with a mixed freight working.

Classic shot from this location - here we see OBB Taurus locomotive 1116 077 crossing one of many viaducts on the Semmering Bahn Railway. This image was taken at lunchtime in Breitenstein on the 6/11/21

Here we see OBB Cityjet unit 4746 008 on the approach to Bischoshofen on the afternoon of the 11/11/21 with REX1512 from Salzburg to Worgl, which I was expecting to have been loco-hauled due to the inward working being hauled.

Here we see CD locomotive 263002 working the 14:34 service from Zdar nad Sazavou to Hustopece u Brna (Os4617) on the afternoon of the 25/2/22. The train was captured in Zabcice, Czech Republic.

Braving the elements in very deep snow, here we see RhB motor vehicle's 54 and 55 working the 11:48 service from St Moritz to Tirano (R4629) on the afternoon of the 20/2/20. The train was captured between Bernina Lagalb and Ospizio Bernina.

In fair conditions, unbranded Lokomotion Vectron 193774 (front) and 185664 (rear) make the climb out of Matrei towards Steinach Am Brenner heading south to Italy on the 6/5/17.

A new spot for lineside photography at the time of taking this image which is a 50 minute walk from Floda station.

Here we see former SBB Cargo locomotive 482 049 working a colourful intermodal train enroute towards Göteborg in Sweden on the hot afternoon of the 2/5/24. The freight train was captured passing through Öijaredsvägen, Floda.

After trying this shot in the winter and as I was in the area for the RhB, it would have been rude not too do it again.

Here we see MGB HGe4/4 locomotive no.2 working the 10:14 service from Disentis to Andermatt on the morning the 6/9/22, which was captured in Segnas.

This locomotive and others like it on the MGB are expected to be replaced by more plastic units very soon. Hopefully, this will not happen, but suspect it will :-(

ZSSK Cargo locomotive 131025 and 131026 were captured rounding the curve under the Tatra mountains in Strba, Slovakia with a loaded coal train on the 4/7/18 heading towards Poprad Tatry and beyond.

RhB Allegra Unit 3501 was captured near Bernina Lagalb towing hauled stock and an open wagon at the rear with the 11:40 from Tirano to St Moritz

With an orange winter glow sunset combined with a dramatic skyline, here we see CD locomotive 242273 working the 14:30 service from Tisnov to Hustopece U Brna (Os4651) on the afternoon of the 5/1/23. The train was captured arriving at Zabcice in the nick of time for the sun.

Here we see Freightliner locomotives 90049 (front) and 90043 (rear) climb Belstead Bank with a well loaded 4M88 from Felixstowe North Terminal to Ditton FLT on the morning of the 26/3/25.

This spot was accessed following a 15 mile cycle ride from Manningtree station. It was great to see a pair of Powerhaul Class 90s working this train as its one of my all time favourite liveries for the fleet :-)

Here we see Re460052 pass through Kiesen on the morning of the 24/8/17 with IC811 from Brig to Romanshorn.

Here we see Gornergrat Bahn units 3051 (front) and 3081 (rear) arrive at Rotenboden with the late running 13:36 service from Zermatt to Gornergrat on the afternoon of the 7/2/22.

Here we see DB Cargo locomotive 60100 working the 07:15 petroleum tanker service from Lindsey refinery to Kingsbury Oil Sidings (6M57), which were captured passing North Stafford Jcn on the snowy morning of the 25/1/21.

With the sun trying to peak through the clouds and running late, here we see DB Cargo locomotives 90026 (front) and 90019 (rear) head south through Abington on the morning of the 2/9/21 with 4M25 from Mossend to Daventry.

DB Bahn Class 218 locomotives no.218340 (front) and 218321 (rear) arrive from the mainland near Morsum in Sylt on the evening of the 19/6/16 working IC2374 to Westerland.

Classic morning shot for this train - here we see DB Cargo locomotive 90036 heading south on the WCML through Beckfoot in Cumbria with the late running intermodal from Mossend to Daventry (4M25). This train is usually booked a pair of 90s, but 90019 was stopped out of traffic at Mossend for an exam. This meant that 4M25 needed to have a reduced trailing load.

Here we see DRS locomotive 37069 running light engine with 0Zxx from Motherwell TMD to Carlisle KMMD on the morning of the 4/9/21. Unfortunately, I have no info on the headcode or what time it left Motherwell as they system is not showing anything now.

A brand new spot for lineside photography at the time of taking this image - here we see Lokomotion / Rail Traction Group Vectron 193774 working a mixed freight on the afternoon of the 11/11/23, which was captured passing through Borghetto. The train was enroute towards Verona and beyond.

On day 3 of the Autumn Gala, here we see diesel locomotives 20048 (front) and 20189 (rear) pass through Foley Park in Bewdley with the 09:57 service from Highley to Kidderminster on the morning of the 5/10/24.

Here we see a colourful TXLogistik Vectron locomotive 193087 passing through Gemuenden (Main) on the afternoon of the 92/23 with a loaded intermodal.

Wengernalpbahn (WAB) units 143 and 144 pass make the climb out of Kleine Scheidegg to Grindlewald on the afternoon of the 26/8/15

First time of being at this location and photographing this locomotive type. Here we see CD locomotive 242268 crossing the Dolni Loucky viaduct on the afternoon of the 23/2/22 with the 14:04 service from Hustopece U Bma to Zdar Nad Sazavou (Os4614).

Freightliner class 90 locomotive no.90045 was photographed on the new down slow alignment at Searchlight Jcn working the late running 4M88 from Felixstowe to Basford Hall on the evening of the 23/5/16

Here we see 189 910 running light engine through the vineyards of Mezzocorona in Italy on the afternoon of the 5/5/17

DB Cargo class 185 Traxx locomotives 185109 (front) and 185096 (rear) round Lake Thun in Einigen, Switzerland on the dull and gloomy afternoon of the 26/6/16 with an intermodal train heading towards Thun and beyond.

RhB Ge4/4 ii loco no.622 rounds the curve in the Swiss Alps near Sass on the morning of the 3/1/16 with the 07:44 Disentis to Scoul-Tarasp RE service

This image was taken from my first ever European railtour experience, which included lineside photo stops :-) Here we see a class 20 locomotive 2024 (E18407) pausing at an official stop near Ghlin, Belgium on the 11/5/13 with the 12.25 Halle Goederen - Poperinge portion of the PFT TSP railtour.

Running early here we see 70005 working 4S44 from Daventry to Coatbridge passing through Scout Green in Cumbria just as the sun was moving round. Taken on the 8/4/17

This was my first sighting of a Cargo Serv owned locomotive and the livery seems to suit the Taurus too. Anyway, here we see 1216 932 pass through Pfaarwerfen with the famous Werfen Castle in the background. on the afternoon of the 6/2/18 with a mixed freight working heading towards Bischofshofen and beyond.

The weather in this part of the world over Christmas and the New Year period was plagued by fog, dullness, gusty winds and heavy rain. However, the weather finally broke to more favourable conditions on the last day of the freight and passenger diversions.

Here we see Freightliner locomotives 90044 (front) and 90012 (rear) cross North Rode Viaduct near Congleton in Cheshire East on the bitterly cold morning of the 2/1/25 with the diverted 4L67 from Trafford Park to Felixstowe.

This spot was accessed after a very challenging cycle ride along the canal from Congleton station, which was both icy and muddy at the time of taking this image.

**For information, this train normally runs via Wilmslow and Crewe, but due to the re-signalling project taking place in the Crewe area during the Christmas and New Year period, this train was diverted via Stockport, Congleton and Stoke. The train rejoined its booked route south of Norton Bridge**

Freightliner class 66 locomotive no.66618 travels on the new down slow part of the new alignment for Searchlight Junction in Norton Bridge working 6X04 from Toton to Basford Hall on the evening of the 23/5/16

Day 2 of braving the wet and dull weather conditions. Following on from the previous day, here we see 90002 working 5Z94 from Acton Lane Reception Sidings to Crewe HS on the afternoon of the 13/12/20.

The train was originally timed to depart London at 12:10, but a new path was made available which promoted a faster run for the empty stock movement including fast Line running throughout.

RhB Ge4/4 ii loco no.626 has been photographed with fading light on the afternoon of the 3/1/16 working the 13:20 Landquart to St Moritz atop of a driver van trailer set.

Here we see CD Cargo locomotive 372011 working a grain train through Usti nad Labem Strekov on the 4/9/23. The train was heading towards Kolin (CZ).
