Here we see CFL Cargo locomotive Rc4 1164 with an intermodal train enroute towards Alingsas and beyond on the morning of the 3/5/24. The freight train was captured on the outskirts of Floda in Sweden.

First time trying this part of the RhB in Bergün/Bravuogn. Knee deep in snow again, here we see RhB Ge4/4ii locomotive 633 propelling a lunchtime empty stock movement from Preda to Bergün/Bravuogn on the afternoon of the 21/2/25 before returning to Preda again with a trainload of tobogganists at 12:47.

Here we see Colas Rail Powercar 43272 (still sporting the Virgin Trains East Coast livery) working the 13:32 Network Rail test train from Northampton to Stoke-on-Trent North Jn on the bitterly cold afternoon of the 2/1/25. The rear Powercar was 43251 (also in VTEC livery).

The train was captured on the Trent and Mersey Canal in Stone, Staffordshire just as a naughty cloud appeared behind me, which was less than ideal.

Yet another new spot in Austria - this shot was taken as a trial to see if one would work at this location assuming the chosen angle. Anyway, in order of appearance, here we see locomotives 383065 and 370051 (both powering) hauling 187344 & 383221 (pan down) plus a well loaded intermodal enroute towards Salzburg on the afternoon of the 18/2/23.

This privately run night train runs only a few times a year. the next one will run on the 21st of June from Praha hl.n. to Günzburg (arriving at the 22nd of June) and will depart Günzburg for the return trip on the 22nd of June. MBM rail s.r.o. is the railway company in the Czech Republic.

Here we see CD locomotive 362042 working what I believe to have been train R869 from Praha-Vrsovice to Brno hl.n on the afternoon of the 9/9/23. The train was captured in Parnik, Ceska Trebova.

The planned spot for capturing this new ski train from Sweden during the 2021-2022 season had to be aborted on the morning of the 12/2/22 due to late running caused by a operational problem in Germany, between Munich and Rosenheim.

This was very frustrating after making a special trip here from the UK especially for these ski trains. Once committed to this locution for the ski trains, there was no turning back. The shot would have been taken on the other side of the track looking down on the train had it been on time.

Anyway, here we see privately owned 111 057 working the previous days departure of 14:40 from Malmo to Salzburg (D305). For information, 111 223 was on the rear of the consist pan up.

The ski trains were fraught with issues the following weekend too (19/2/22) this time due to Storm Eunice, resulting in another disappointing weekend to capture the ski trains and wasted efforts.

Lastly, if anyone uses Finalrewind, the real-time running website did NOT show the accurate running of this train.

The sun came good for this late afternoon shot. Here we see ZSSK Cargo locomotive 131061 and 131062 with a westbound freight train, captured in Strba on the 4/7/18. This was the last shot of the day after which the sun was lost.

Here we see an ariel shot of 33108 working the late running 11:30 service from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster on the afternoon of the 21/5/23. The train was captured at Victoria Bridge in Arley as the railway line crosses the River Seven.

With the sun just swinging round, OBB locomotives 1144 267 (front) and 1116 132 (rear) were captured passing through Hogmoos, Austria on the 4/2/19 heading in the Worgl direction with a mixed freight working.

Here we see Locomotive Services Ltd owned loco 90002 working the 06:24 charter from Liverpool Lime Street to Cardiff Central, which was captured on the WCML north of Crewe in Leighton. A few minutes before the train passed, the sun appeared from behind a cloud which meant I did not have enough time to run over the footbridge to the sunny side of the track.

For info, the class 90 was detached from the train at Crewe and replaced by a steam engine. Also, 47805 was DOR of this consist for ETH and empty stock purposes.

Here we see CD locomotive 263002 working the 14:34 service from Zdar nad Sazavou to Hustopece u Brna (Os4617) on the afternoon of the 25/2/22. The train was captured in Zabcice, Czech Republic.

Braving the elements in very deep snow, here we see RhB motor vehicle's 54 and 55 working the 11:48 service from St Moritz to Tirano (R4629) on the afternoon of the 20/2/20. The train was captured between Bernina Lagalb and Ospizio Bernina.

In fair conditions, unbranded Lokomotion Vectron 193774 (front) and 185664 (rear) make the climb out of Matrei towards Steinach Am Brenner heading south to Italy on the 6/5/17.

After trying this shot in the winter and as I was in the area for the RhB, it would have been rude not too do it again.

Here we see MGB HGe4/4 locomotive no.2 working the 10:14 service from Disentis to Andermatt on the morning the 6/9/22, which was captured in Segnas.

This locomotive and others like it on the MGB are expected to be replaced by more plastic units very soon. Hopefully, this will not happen, but suspect it will :-(
