Here we see OBB locomotive 1144 029 working the 13:08 service from Salzburg to Worgl (REX1516) on the afternoon of the 13/2/23. The train was captured passing through Pfarrwerfen, Austria.
Lunchtime exercise treat at another new location with the pushbike. Here we see GBRF locomotives 73963 (front) and 73961 (rear) pass through Duffield at lunchtime on the 18/1/21 with the 13:16 Derby RTC to Crewe LNWR (1Q41) test train via the Northwest region including the Merseryrail network.
Please note, this shot was only possible due to the dull winter conditions. If the sun had been out, it would not have worked tat this location.
Double-stack rail transport of intermodal containers out of Vancouver. The Jasper Skytram is the highest and longest aerial tramway in Canada. It was built in 1964 and travels to a height of 2,277 meters (7,425 ft) above sea level and crests the Whistlers Mountain in Jasper National Park, Alberta Canada. Print Size 13x19 inches.

EN : SBB Cargo’s Re 620 035 (ex Re 6/6, 10,600 hp, Bo’Bo’Bo’) leads unit oil train 66116 Cornaux – St-Triphon along the shore of Lake Geneva near Veytaux-Chillon. The 1,900-ton consist of tank cars carries fuel from the Cressier refinery near Cornaux (Canton of Neuchatel) to Tamoil’s distribution terminal near St-Triphon (Vaud).
The train is seen here between Veytaux-Chillon and Villeneuve. In the background stand the famous Château de Chillon and the A9 motorway viaduct, completing a classic Lake Geneva rail scene.

FR : En Suisse, sur la rive du Léman, entre Veytaux-Chillon et Villeneuve, avec en arrière-plan le Château de Chillon et l’autoroute A9 Lausanne – Brigue, un train complet de citernes de 1900 tonnes transporte du fioul de la raffinerie de pétrole de Cressier, près de Cornaux (canton de Neuchâtel), au dépôt et centre de distribution de produits pétroliers Tamoil embranché au nord de St Triphon (Vaud). Les 1900t sont un travail parfait pour la puissante Re620 en solo.

EN - North of Schwyz, the Gotthard line runs past the striking twin peaks of the Grosser and Kleiner Mythen. In the foreground, two classic Gotthard locomotives, Re 620 086 (ex Re 6/6 11686) in SBB Cargo livery and Re 620 018 (ex Re 6/6 11618) in red, double-head a northbound freight after crossing the famous alpine route.
The combination of twin locomotives and twin mountain summits is a reminder of the close link between Switzerland’s rugged landscapes and its powerful railway tradition.

For this shot, I went for a slightly wider angle to include the little red buildings on the right handside of the image, which are a typical feature of the Swedish landscape.
Here we see a going "away" shot of a pair of SJ High Speed Tilting trainsets being worked by power cars 2027 (front trainset) and 2025 (rear trainset) with the late running 14:24 service from Göteborg Central to Stockholm Central (train 438) on the bitterly cold afternoon of the 25/4/24. The train was captured on the outskirts of Hallsberg, Sweden during a brief sunny spell.
For information, I saw train 438 quite a few times during my visit to Sweden and it was often worked by a pair of X2000 high speed tilting trainsets.

Here we see MRCE and Lokomotion locomotives 189910 (front) and 193666 (rear) making the climb towards Steinach am Brenner and beyond on the afternoon of the 9/11/21.
Here we see OBB locomotive 1144 208 propelling REX1515 from Worgl to Salzburg on the afternoon of the 30/12/22.
** For info, shortly after this shot had been taken, the sun was lost to the mountains for the remainder of the day due to the time of year. Very limited daylight hours for this location during the winter months.
Here we see 90045 & 90048 with 90043 & 90042 DITL pass Sedgwick in Cumbria with 4M49 from Coatbridge to Basford Hall on the 16/7/17. It is very unusual to see 4 class 90s on this train - the rear two failed the day before and were heading back to Crewe for repairs.

Marienplatz U-Bahn Station, Munich, Germany
My favourite station from my visit to Munich a few years back. The orange part of this station is classic with a lot of German underground stations. This station as you can imagine was very busy but I did manage to get a few photos of when it was quieter.
The designers of the this station certainly liked their tunnels and symmetry which as you all know I am a massive fan of in my photography :-).

Cor Blimey I have been trying to upload this photo all day to Flickr but it seems Flickr was having non of it and was returning all sorts of errors when uploading.
Anyway, some of you may have seen this before on my old account but I thought I would treat you to it again and of course I hope my new followers enjoy it as much as I do.
I just love the orange colour that the Germans use on their metro stations, its almost like their signature colour of their metro as you will find it on most Metro stations throughout Germany, gives them a sense of identity very much like the London Underground roundel.
Although this is a slightly different photo to the one I uploaded the other day (B&W high key version) I do definitely prefer the colour version, just seems to have more character and detail.

A spot that has been on my "to do" list for a while. Anyway, here we see RhB Ge4/4 iii loco 648 working the 12:58 from Chur to St Moritz on the afternoon of the 21/8/16 in sunny conditions crossing Landwasser Viaduct
Whilst travelling back to the UK by train from the OeBB event in Switzerland, a short stopover was made on the eastern side of the Rhine in Germany. Unfortunately traffic flows were extremely poor during my 1.5 day visit - in most hours the only services I saw were the local trains to and from Frankfurt Main. Meanwhile, on the western side of the Rhine, it was one freight after another. This is the 3rd time in succession I have found traffic flows on the eastern side of the Rhine very limited.
One of the few trains that did run on the eastern side of the Rhine was a Central Bahn charter train unexpectedly too. Here we see Central Bahn locomotive 110 278 passing through St Goarshausen with a loaded charter train from Soest to Mainz Hbf on the morning of the 18/9/24, which ran as train number 83022 (thank you Wouter for the train ID).

A new spot for lineside photography. Here we see 90001 lead the 13:11 empty charter stock from London Euston to Crewe HS (5Z46), which was captured passing through Mill Meece on the Down Slow of the WCML on the afternoon of the 28/9/20.
For info, 40145 was dead on the rear of this consist after working 1Z46 from Wembley to Euston earlier in the day.

DB locomotive 103 113 was captured passing the River Inn near Kufstein on the afternoon of the 30/7/16 working IC1281 as far as Worgl.

This was my 2nd only visit to the Arosa line and with loco-hauled trains still running on this mountainous route, it would have been rude not to have taken a ride on it from Chur whilst in the area before heading home.
Here we see RhB Ge4/4 II locomotive 632 working the 13:08 service from Chur to Arosa (R1441) on the stormy afternoon of the 21/7/24. The train was captured rounding the curve shortly after it departed Litzirüti bahnhof during a brief sunny spell before the heavens opened up with a thunderstorm.

During w/c 11th February 2020, low pressure dominated Austrians weather following storms in the UK, which drifted eastwards. On a very snowy and dull afternoon despite the sun being forecasted, we see CD Railjet Taurus locomotive 1216 250 pass through Wolfsbergkogel near Semmering on the 11/2/20. The train was RJ75 from Praha to Graz.
This scenic line is next to see traffic flows diverted via a tunnel like the Gotthard route, which I noted as making progress during the visit in mid February 2020.
Whilst travelling around the Goteborg area of Sweden by train, I saw this potential spot from the train window, so thought I would check it out to see if a shot would work from this location. This was a new location for lineside photography at the time of taking this image.
Here we see SJ X2000 Powercar no.2025 leading the 10.30 service from Stockholm C to Goteborg C (train 429) on the afternoon of the 29/4/24. The high speed X2000 tilting train was captured passing through Jonsered, Sweden.
For information, this spot is a short walk from the Jonsered station, and is located on the Goteborg C to Stockholm mainline, in particular between Goteborg C and Alingsas. Lastly, because Sweden is located much further north, Spring starts much later, therefore the flowers and trees had only just started to blossom during my trip.

Here we see Gornergrat Bahn units 3052 and 3082 start making the steep climb towards Gornergrat an afternoon service from Zermatt enroute to Gornergrat.
This image demonstrates the tough terrain that the engineers must have faced when the line was constructed! and the operational challenges today.

With the air pollution slowly lifting, here we see TXLogistik Vectron locomotive 193557 passing through Mezzocorona on the afternoon of the 20/2/23 with a loaded intermodal enroute towards Trento and beyond.
Here we see OBB Railjet locomotive 1116 244 with matching rolling stock advertising domestic train tickets. The train was the Saturday Only RJX1265 from Worgl to Wien Flughafen, which was captured passing through Gerling im Pinzgau on the morning of the 12/2/22.
The valley floor in Langkampfen was covered in thick freezing fog on the 8/2/19, but at lunchtime it began to lift and burn up. Here we see Lokomotion 193771 + 186441 operating a scrap metal steel train with 139310 on the rear pan up.
