A new spot for lineside photography, which was accessed by firstly taking a bus to Kolbnitz from Spittal, followed by a 30minute walk uphill to the railway line. Anyway, here we see Rail Traction Group locomotive 189903 (front) and Lokomotion Vectron 193776 (rear) head towards Villach through Kolbnitz with an empty steel train.

** For information, due to time of year, there were very places on this line to capture trains when the sun is shining because of the mountains and low sun. This spot I came across by chance.

A new spot for railway photography, which was reached after walking 1.5hrs from Bad Gastein station in the snow and ice. Here we see an ELL owned Vectron 193736 working the daily tanker train, which was captured making the climb through Angertal heading towards Mallnitz and beyond on the afternoon of the 13/2/20.

Marienplatz U-Bahn Station, Munich, Germany

I do really like my symmetrical imagery (which I am sure most of you have guessed already) and this is an image from my Munich trip last year and a revisited image I also uploaded to Flickr earlier.

I explain the reason for this, I have just signed up to the Adobe CC package that they do as I have heard that Lightroom 6 is due out soon so worked out better value to do it this way rather than purchasing standalone copy as you get Photoshop CC 2014 for around £8.60 per month. I also wanted PS too as I want to learn better editing and photography skills which I can't learn in Lightroom due to the limitations it has in certain editing areas.

Now I come across mirror feature within Photoshop this morning when playing around this image. Now I know for you PS wizards out there your probably thinking big deal but this simple editing technique can create some interesting effects on some of my architectural images I have taken in the past. Its something that I normally wouldn't do or have done as I am more of a purist when it comes to photography as I feel I like to get most of the image correct when taking in the image and I believe its a POV that can actually be visited and seen with the naked eye, this is just purely my opinion and preference. This got me thinking, why don't I revisit some of my old photos and do a mini series which I will call 'Conception Fabrication'.

Would this be something you would be interested in seeing from future uploads? Always interested to see what people think.

Location Information

München Marienplatz is an important stop on the Munich S-Bahn and U-Bahn network, located under the square of the same name in Munich's city centre. The S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S6, S7 and S8 intersect with the U-Bahn lines U3 and U6. The station is one of the most frequently used stations in the network, with up to 24,400 people transferring and 8,000 passengers entering or exiting each hour. In 2007, 175,400 used the station daily on weekdays, including entries, exits and transfers.

In October 1966 construction was started, finishing in October 1971 as part of the new S-Bahn network for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Until early 2003 there were almost no further refurbishments done at the station. From 2003 to 2006, the platforms of the U-Bahn were widened to expand passenger capacity and were lifted by 4 cm to secure same-level boarding.

Under the Zweite Stammstrecke ("Second main line") tunnel project, Marienplatz station is to be connected to a second station further north, Marienhof, via the enlarged subway access tunnels on the fourth level.

Streaming Train in a Urban London UK Underground station...very quiet for a change, apart from a lost ghost train architecture. City of London Urban, Metropolitan

The London Underground is a metro system serving a large part of Greater London and neighbouring areas of Essex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire in England. It is the world's oldest underground railway system. It is usually referred to as the Underground or the Tube - the latter deriving from the shape of the system's deep-bore tunnels - although about 55% of the network is above ground.

The Underground has 268 stations and approximately 400 km (250 miles) of track,[1] making it the longest metro system in the world by route length,[4] and one of the most served in terms of stations. In 2007, over one billion passenger journeys were recorded.

Transport for London (TfL) was created in 2000 as the integrated body responsible for London's transport system. It replaced London Regional Transport. It assumed control of London Underground Limited in July 2003.

The Underground has been featured in many movies and television shows, including Sliding Doors, Tube Tales and Neverwhere. The London Underground Film Office handles over 100 requests per month. The Underground has also featured in music such as The Jam's "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight" and in literature such as the graphic novel V for Vendetta. Popular legends about the Underground being haunted persist to this day.

The Underground currently sponsors and contributes to the arts via its Platform for Art and Poems on the Underground projects. Poster and billboard space (and in the case of Gloucester Road tube station, an entire disused platform) is given over to artwork and poetry to "create an environment for positive impact and to enhance and enrich the journeys of ... passengers".[

The London Underground's 11 lines are the Bakerloo line, Central line, Circle line, District line, Hammersmith & City line, Jubilee line, Metropolitan line, Northern line, Piccadilly line, Victoria line, and Waterloo & City line. Until 2007 there was a twelfth line, the East London line, but this has closed for conversion work and will be transferred to the London Overground when it reopens in 2010.

Transport for London (TfL) was created in 2000 as the integrated body responsible for London's transport system. It replaced London Regional Transport. It assumed control of London Underground Limited in July 2003.[21]

TfL is part of the Greater London Authority and is constituted as a statutory corporation regulated under local government finance rules.[22] It has three subsidiaries: London Transport Insurance (Guernsey) Ltd., the TfL Pension Fund Trustee Co. Ltd. and Transport Trading Ltd (TTL). TTL has six wholly-owned subsidiaries, one of which is London Underground Limited.

Marienplatz Metro Station, Munich, Germany

I have had so many uploads I have been sitting on and not getting round to upload them until now as I feel its the right time to upload them with my new Flickr account.

I will be returning to the Open House London archive uploads shortly but this is another addition to my 'Conceptual Fabrication' series. I have done this one in colour with the distinctive Orange tiles that you often get with German metro stations but I wanted to try a black and white image and this was the result, really like the high key feel that the orange tiles create when converted to Black and White.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

The station building at Nyngan is a good example of a railway station constructed at a terminus or other significant location in country NSW during a major phase of railway construction in NSW in the 1880s. Nyngan is one of the more remote railway locations in NSW but still warranted a substantial brick building which remains highly intact. The goods shed is a good representative example of a standard corrugated iron shed with attached office and timber platform.

The railway station is now used as the ‘Nyngan and District Museum’.
