This is another part of Braz in Austria which does not see sun light penetrate the valley floor in December unfortunately. Anyway, here we see OBB Taurus 1116 249 passing through the village of Braz on the 23/12/17 working RJ867 from Bregenz to Wien Hbf and Airport.

Shepherds Bush Underground Station, London, England

UPDATE APRIL 2012 - #68 on Explore for 19.04.2012 - Had a nice surprise when I logged on so thank you very much everybody! :-)

I was in two minds to go into London yesterday as the weather here in the UK was rubbish, raining all yesterday morning but I thought I might as well.

Now this is a photo a place that is a revisit for me but was never happy with the photos that I got few years back so took along my fisheye.

It wasn't too busy and I didn't have to wait long for the two trains to come into the platforms as this was the image I wanted to capture. Shepherds Bush Underground station is quite unusual in that sometimes you look at it it looks symmetrical and other times it doesn't. I'm glad I got the photo that I wanted and went into London in the end.

Information

Shepherd's Bush is a London Underground station in the district of Shepherd's Bush, which is located in west London, England, United Kingdom. The station is on the Central Line, between White City and Holland Park stations, and it lies in Travelcard Zone 2.

The station originally opened in 1900, but was closed for eight months in 2008 while the surface station building was replaced with a completely new structure and the underground station refurbished.

A number of stations in the area both past and present have borne the name Shepherd's Bush; today the Central Line station shares its name with the adjacent London Overground Shepherd's Bush station, with which it shares a surface-level interchange.

An entirely separate London Underground station, Shepherd's Bush Market on the Circle Line and Hammersmith & City Lines is located approximately 1⁄3-mile (500 m) away. Until 2008, it too was called Shepherd's Bush until it was renamed to avoid confusion.

From the archives - here we see Freightliner locomotive 90047 on hire to Virgin Trains about to depart with the 18:30 service from Euston to Rugby (1T25) with WB64 on the evening of the 18/7/13.

Unfortunately, the driver arrived late to prep loco, which meant no headlights in the shot due to travelling on the train and couldn't wait any longer otherwise the train would have been missed. Oh well.

Here we see CD locomotive 380005 working the diverted 07:12 service from Praha h.nl to Budapest-Nyugati (EC275) on the morning of the 24/2/22.

The train was captured passing through Hradcany on the diverted route - the routing of this train via Hradcany was a planned diversion.

Here we see 500039 passing through Silenen on the evening of the 24/6/16 with IC882 from Lugano to Zurich

Stumbled across this new spot whilst searching the area for new locations on foot. For information, this shot was only made possible due to the dull weather conditions.

Here we see CD Cargo locomotive 230 003 with a short trip working enroute towards Zdar nad Sazavou and beyond. The train was captured on the outskirts of Rikonin.

Here we see TX Logistik Vectron locomotives 193555 (front) and 193552 (rear) on the outskirts of Matrei am Brenner on the chilly afternoon of the 17/2/22.

With the sun trying to peep through the clouds behind me, here we see locomotives 189935 (front) and 193770 (rear) start the long climb towards Brenner and beyond on the 16/2/22 with a loaded automotive freight. The train was captured passing through Wolf, Austria.

On a cold winter's morning we see OBB Railjet loco 1116 202 pass through Kirchbichl station with RJ660 from Wien to Bregenz on the 6/1/17

Here we see newbie Regiojet Traxx locomotive 388209 cross Peace Viaduct in Dolni Loucky with the diverted 10:38 service from Praha hl.n.to Bratislava (IC1043) on the afternoon of the 24/2/22.

For your information, this was a planned diversion for this train (it does not usually go via this route).

Here we see Regiojet locomotive 162115 crossing the river Elbe in Usti nad Labem hl.n. on the evening of the 4/9/23 with the 15:14 service from Kolin (RJ1308).

Here we see Freightliner locomotives 90016 (front) and 90049 (rear) make the climb through Docker in Cumbria on the glorious morning of the 6/5/25 with the slightly delayed 4S52 from Basford Hall to Coatbridge.

This spot was accessed following a long cycle ride from Oxenholme station (mostly uphill too).

Station photography shots are rare nowadays, but whilst waiting for an onward connection with a class 242 engine, this arrived at the station, and it seemed rude not to capture it. Here we see Regiojet Traxx 386202 working the diverted 05:38 service from Praha hl.n. to Hegyeshalom on the morning of the 9/9/22.

Here we see SNCB/NMBS class 13 locomotive 1354 departing from Brussels Midi with an empty stock movement to the depot on the evening of the 5/6/14 after working the 17:00 (IC90) from Luxembourg to Brussels Midi.

The Flexity Outlook is the latest model in the rolling stock of the Toronto streetcar system owned by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Based on the Flexity Outlook vehicles used in several European cities, the new streetcars were first ordered in 2009 and are built by Bombardier Transportation in Thunder Bay and Kingston, Ontario, Canada, with specific modifications for Toronto, such as unidirectional operation and the ability to operate on the unique broad Toronto gauge (4 ft 10 7⁄8 in / 1,495 mm).

Tried this spot in the winter and thought it was worth visiting again. Unfortunately it was slightly overgrown and there are no means of getting height other than stepladders.

Anyway, here we see OBB Taurus loco 1016 009 working a domestic freight heading towards Bischofshofen and beyond on the afternoon of the 12/7/18.

A new spot for lineside photography which was found by accident. Here we see MAV Traxx 480006 working EC146 from Cluj Napoca to Wien Hbf on the afternoon of the 22/2/22. The train was captured on the outskirts of Szar, Hungary.

York Station, North Yorkshire, England

Wow, it has been a while since I last posted on here. I am slowly getting back into photography again and quite a bit has changed. Moved away from Sony gear and use primarily Fujifilm and my trusty little Ricoh GRiii which is an awesome camera.

I have also got into film photography, 35mm and 120mm so hopefully will be able to share some of those photos too.

I try and keep a camera on with me most days now so try to capture things where and when I can. This photo was taken using my Huawei mobile and at York station, it was quite a miserable night as you can see but it allowed for an interesting photo.

Hope everyone I use to follow is still here and look forward to going through all your photo streams.

I am debating to go Pro again but I will have a good think about that.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Here we see East Midlands Railway HST Power Cars 43048 (front) and 43049 (rear) pass through East Midlands Parkway station on the morning of the 20/7/20 with 1B16 from Nottingham to St Pancras International.

Here we see Ge4/4ii loco 631 crossing the famous Langwieser Viaduct with the 11:18 service from Arosa to Chur (RE 1434) on the morning of the 23/2/19.

Alsasua.

RhB Allegra unit 3509 was photographed on the outskirts of Saas on the morning of the 27/10/19 with the Bernina Express from Landquart to Tirano (D961) via Davos. This was the last working of the season of the Bernina Express via this route.

Darlington Railway Station, County Durham, England

Its been a little while since I uploaded a photo, I have noticed that Flickr has moved some things around on the photostream page and I quite like it.

Anyway, a photo a taken bit more local to me and during a quick visit up to Darlington Station. It is a wonderful station and very similar architecturally to York and Newcastle stations. Darlington station is going through some regeneration and will be a welcome addition to what is already a stunning station.

This was taken just over 2 years ago, the trains at the time were still relativity quiet due to the pandemic etc hence the empty platforms. It's very surreal to see photos like this, especially as our trains are just getting busier and busier all the time now.

Hope you are all having a good start of the week.

In lieu of an OBB Railjet, here we see 11301 working an extrazug from Sargans to Zurich on the afternoon of the 11/12/16. I am not sure what happened to the OBB Railjet on the day in question.

Here we see 90002 propelling the 16:21 special relief service from Manchester Piccadilly to Euston (1Z96) just as the sun was setting on the evening of the 17/9/22, which was captured near Hillmorton, Warwickshire.

Earlier workings in the day could not be snapped due to the position of the sun for that time of day.

A classic afternoon shot from this location - here we see OBB Taurus locomotive 1216 006 (E190 006) working EC85 from Munich to Venezia Santa Lucia on the afternoon of the 17/2/23. The train was captured in Matrei am Brenner.

A new spot to try out and following a period of rain and snow, the clouds started to break at lunchtime on the 11/2/22. Here we see DB Cargo locomotive Traxx 185114 hauling cargo wagons towards Sargans (it is assumed that this freight went to Buchs?)
