Here we see RhB Ge4/4 locomotive 623 passing through Trun with the 09:48 Glacier Express from St Moritz to Zermatt (D905) on the afternoon of the 1/9/22.
First time trying this shot in Slovakia. Blessed with sunny conditions, here we see the new ZSSK Vectron 383104 working the 06:03 (R601) from Bratislava to Kosice on the morning of the 4/7/18
CD Railjet with 1216 236 passes through Breitenstein Am Semmering on the afternoon of the 20/8/17 with RJ76 from Graz to Praha
Here we see OBB Taurus locomotive 1116 061 pass through Szar, Hungary with a loaded intermodal enroute towards Budapest on thw 22/2/22.
In my humble opinion, Antwerpen train station is one of the most beautiful train stations in the world. Apparently it went through a large remodel project after I left Europe last time back in 2007, but they did it successfully without intruding much to the original elements this station had.

Here we RhB Ge4/4 ii locomotive no.616 working the 08:44 Disentis to Scoul-Tarasp service on the morning of the 31/8/16 on the outskirts of Ilanz in the Swiss Alps
On the evening of the 2/5/17, OBB locomotive 1116 197 was photographed on the outskirts of Matrei with a northbound freight train. This shot is only available during the summer/spring months.
A pair of SBB 500 ICN Pendolino have been captured rounding the lower section of the North Ramp in Wassen with a service train heading towards Arth-Goldau (it may have been IC684)
First time of trying this spot despite being on the "to do list" for a while. Anyway, here we Rail Operations Group locomotives 37611 (front) and 37601 (rear) hauling unit 730003 from Derby RTC to Old Dalby, which was captured on the Up Slow at Cossington on the afternoon of the 19/4/21.

Am Hart U-Bahn Station, Munich, Germany
Continuing my Munich Underground mini series and this is Am Hart U-Bahn station. Probably the most frustrating station to take an image of as I was waiting patiently for people to move out of the frame, especially one guy, I do think some people do this on purpose!!
Anyway, I was just about to give up and leave without an image that I was happy with then I heard my train coming and in the other direction heard the other, I waited just a little longer and snapped this image which under the circumstances I was very happy with.
They love their central island platforms on the Munich U-Bahn, sadly we don't have many designed like this on the London Underground and ones thats we have had on the LU have been removed as they are very cramped and possibly dangerous. Angel station on the Northern Line use to be an island platform until it was converted into two separate platforms thats why for those who use it regularly you may notice its an extra wide platform.

Unfortunately the sun had not quite swung round enough to the west side of the railway when this shot was taken. Anyway, here we see 68002 & 66431 passing through Lambrigg on the afternoon of the 25/3/16 with 6K27 from Carlisle N.Y. to Basford Hall
EN The line between Noertzange and Rumelange is only served by passenger trains during the week at rush hours. A CFL 2000 series emu shuttles between Noertzange and Rumelange during those periods, including stops at Kayl and Tétange. The line is also sees cargo trains towards the Cimalux concrete factory and a Vossloh workshop for rail infrastructure, both in Rumelange.
Photographed is CFL 2014 as RegionalBahn 6244 from Rumelange to Noertzange, just after leaving Rumelange station. One multiple unit is enough the perform the shuttle service on this line during rush hour. The line in to the right on the photo leads towards the Cimalux concrete factory.
NL De spoorlijn tussen Noertzange en Rumelange (6c) is een van de uitlopers van de "hoofdlijn" tussen Luxemburg (stad) en Esch sur Alzette, in het zuiden van het land. Deze uitloper wordt maar beperkt bediend. Alleen doordeweeks en in de spits wordt er een halfuursdienstje gereden waarbij een enkel stelletje uit de CFL 2000 serie pendelt tussen Noertzange en Rumelange. Hierbij wordt nog gestopt te Kayl en Tétange.
Een enkel stelletje is voldoende om heen en weer te pendelen en het is CFL 2014 die in de avondspits van 18 juni de diensten waarneemt. Op de foto is het Z2-treinstel onderweg als RB 6244 van Rumelange naar Noertzange. De foto is genomen kort na vertrek uit Rumelange, het spoor naar rechts op de foto loopt naar de Cimalux cementfabriek.
EN After the previous image of the CFL 2014, another train came unexpectedly. CFL 1104 came along with an empty cement clinker train towards the Cimalux clinker factory in Rumelange. Cement clinker is a main ingredient of cement (used in concrete and such). There is usually every day a cement clinker train from and towards the cement factory in Schifflange, but other destinations are also possible.
NL Na het vorige plaatje kwam onverwachts de CFL 1104 om de hoek met een lege klinkertrein richting Cimalux te Rumelange. Cimalux is een producent van het materiaal klinker, een grondstof voor cement. De fabriek wordt meestal dagelijks bedient met een trein van en naar Schifflange waar de klinker wordt verwerkt tot cement. Andere bestemmingen zijn echter ook mogelijk.

A brand new spot for lineside photography at the time of taking this image. Here we see DB Cargo locomotive 66094 with the diverted 4L56 intermodal from Trafford Park to London Gateway on the bitterly cold afternoon of the 2/1/25 just as the winter sun was setting. The train was captured on the Trent and Mersey Canal in Stone.
This spot was accessed after a challenging cycle ride along the canal from Stone station, which was both icy and muddy at the time of taking this image.
**For information, this train normally runs via Wilmslow and Crewe, but due to the re-signalling project taking place in the Crewe area during the Christmas and New Year period, this train was diverted via Stockport, Macclesfield, Stoke and Stone. The train rejoined its booked route south of Norton Bridge on the WCML**
Southern Shorthaul Railroad's southern canola train run again today, this time in nice morning light. Seen here climbing the Southern Tablelands and Highlands, it made for a glorious sight, and sound from the venerable C class EMD horsepower.
One of the last workings of this special "staycation" train trips, operated by RSL and LSL was worked by a class 40 & 47 in top & tail mode. Here we see 40145 approaching Garsdale station with 1Z44 from Appleby to Skipton on the bitterly cold afternoon of the 12/9/20. For info 47712 was on the rear of this consist.
After this working was photographed, the return 24 mile cycle ride was endured to reach Oxenholme railway station for onward travel to Derbyshire.

Catching me off-guard and not quite in the right spot, here we see StB locomotives 1142 613 (front) and 1142 562 (rear) pass through Pfarrwerfen with an empty set of intermodal wagons enroute to Salzburg on the afternoon of the 13/9/22.

Prior to the sun rising above the mountains, I opted to get a couple of shots on Wattinger Kurve. Here we see SBB loco's 620084 (front) and 420331 (rear) rounding Wattinger on the north ramp in Wassen on the cold & frosty morning of the 7/12/16 heading north towards Erstfeld.
OBB 1144 type loco no.1144 214 operating in push-pull mode passes through the village of Kirchberg in Tirol with some sunshine on the afternoon of the 17/6/15 with the 12:38 REX service from Worgl to Salzburg

Rounding the curve in Stubing, Austria we see OBB loco 1144 228 working a mixed freight train heading towards Graz and beyond on the morning of the 4/1/17 during a sunny spell.
605 & 603 were captured working a small freight on the chilly frosty morning of the 28/8/17 from Samedan presumably heading to Preda for tunnel duties!
Yet another new spot for lineside photography, this time in Rabius-Surrein, Switzerland, which was a long walk and climb from the local railway station to reach.

Low autumn sun - here we see Greater Anglia loco 90003 passing through Lancaster Crossing on the afternoon of the 30/11/19 with 1P43 from Norwich to Colchester.

A classic morning shot from this location - here we see ETR 610 004 (front) and ETR 610 002 (rear) round the curve in Silenen on the morning of the 23/8/23 just after the sun cleared the mountains with the diverted EC156 from Lugano to Basel via the Gotthardbahn.
** For info, on the day in question, freight and passenger trains were being diverted via the Gotthard due to the freight train derailment in the GBT **
