Together with "BackPackerBecki" Rebecca Enright & "HikeBikeTravel" Leigh McAdams, I have the absolute honour of travelling the magnificent city of DRESDEN in the spring. We recommend a bicycle tour across the inner city as well as along the Elbtal cycling trail. Plus, do not miss out on a visit to the Pulverturm restaurant near the famous Frauenkirche church: Amazing spot, a unique (medieval) restaurant style and great food served there. LOVE Dresden :D

Zeiss Ikon Symbolica - first results are a bit weird and wonderful.... it maybe that the shutter/diaphragm setting had a rude shock being used for the first time after some years 'rest'? The first images were of a strange hue, but as the roll progressed the lighting became better. However focus is also an issue. This image has been edited to improve, and the blue horizontal line is a crease on the negative. The Pulverturm/powder tower, Zug, Switzerland.

Sombody brought a Baumkuchen for Teresa, which she sliced to have at least one piece for everybody.

The Powder Tower. Part of the original mediaieval fortifications of the city.

Bruges was a wealthy and powerful merchant centre before the waterways (Zwin channel) which linked the city to the sea silted up. Then one of the richest centres in northern Europe fell into decline in the 16th Century at the expense of its coastal neighbour, Antwerp.

Although lacemaking, brewing and tourism have brough prosperity back, the original reason for the city's wealth, trade, has never returned.

The medieval city has been well preserved - mainly because lack of funds prevented it being demolished and redeveloped from the 17th Century onwards - and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
