Week 31
Still in holidays (visiting family and friends), still don't have much time to setup some serious shot!
However I'm lucky enough to have a cooperative sister-in-law! She ordered the dress for a wedding she had few weeks earlier but unfortunately she received it yesterday…
We decided to take few pictures, between 2 showers (Yeah the weather kinda sucks), so she didn't received it for nothing!
Enjoy your week!

Semaine 31

This is called ‘Jacob's Well’, and is supposed to contain a water feature (it was bone dry when I visited). The design is very elegant, though, with cleverly laid out leading lines.
Hand-held HDR from five raw shots, tone-mapped in Photomatix Pro 3, post-processed in Rawtherapee and the Gimp.
DDCC project52 2014, an alphabet themed project with a new subject each week.
May I introduce my son, James George. Born last week.
Edited with PTM creamy soy latte and delightful haze.
I don't know if there is anything extraordinary about the lighting in my driveway, but it sure makes her eyes sparkle.
Possibly the saddest (acting) boy in the world for the weeks theme of Sad.
The motivation behind this capture - was that I asked Jake what face he would use if I told him he could never ever have sweets again.
I know, I'm cruel.

Another dreary rainy day made sunnier with cupcakes!
Every year I carve a couple of pumpkins for my kids. Every year I forget how much I hate the smell of pumpkins :-/
A huge huge huge THANK YOU to every single one of you for helping me get through my Project 52!
A bigger thank you to Sarah Cornish, from My Four Hens Photography, for coming up with this beautiful idea.
I've learned so much. I've made so many mistakes. But, I remained dedicated enough to finish. My creative senses tingled each and every week to get an image posted in time. Thank you everyone for keeping me going throughout the project with all your comments! They were so sweet and inspiring.
The images that everyone shared in the Project 52 group were just so motivational! The stories behind those pictures were also beautiful. I've been so inspired to now narrate my life through pictures.
Although school does get a little tough sometimes, I manage to make enough time in the week to take a picture for the theme. It's just that important to me. And I love it. I think a Project 365 might be a bit too much for me with school, but I know I'll do it someday.
I'm definitely continuing on with another Project 52 for this year, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what I come up with.
Wishing you all a VERY Happy New Year! Best wishes for 2014 :-)
Thank you for all your support, and good luck with that camera and for all the photography opportunities to come! Shutterbugs like us just don't stop :-)
Cheers!
PS. It took me a while to put 52 photos in a collage, and I really wasn't feeling like doing squares. So I kind of went crazy. :D

Sunday 27th October 2013 - the day before the storm called St Jude hit southern England. This is the beach at Milford-On-Sea getting battered by some big waves in the run up to the storm. The wind was very strong even the day before the storm, and I had to push the car door extra hard to get it open.
Subject: Guilty Pleasure
I haven't been at home this week and I'm away for the next few days. So tonight was my only chance of posting for this week's theme.
One of my guilty pleasures is trawling through Photography magazines and websites, to see what kit I could buy next. Above are the boxes for the majority of my cameras and lenses. It also includes my latest addition, Sigma 105mm Macro lens, which arrived last week. There is a range of other kit, but I tend to spread it around in an effort to minimise the pile.
Kit, you know it makes you a better photographer. Oops.
Now, have to go and pack the rest of my kit for an early start tomorrow.
I'm late, but what else is new? (I need that on a t-shirt). Spring has come to my balcony. I was surprised, because I thought I killed the plants. Let's hope they manage to surprise me again, and actually bloom this year.
My accidental coffee rings.

ODC - Young at Heart, project 365 - #128/365. project52-2014 week #19 "Hand-Made"
I love my paper crafts because it takes me back to the days in early grade school where we made things with paper, scissors, glue, and crayons.
These are a few of the party favors made from paper lunch bags. They are for the ladies of my bowling league at our annual banquet. Each will be filled with individual bottles of cocktail mixes and nips. Then we will all be feeling young at heart!
week6-bleu

At first, I wanted to photograph cheeses, "blues". And today, going to do the oil change of my car, I found a car park with many cars with various blues. This picture shows a door of a Renault Twingo...

Molly had a friend over from preschool. I walked by the den and noticed them both on the play computers, looking intent. I sneaked away and grabbed my camera to snap this photo. I wanted to keep the mess in the photo because this is real life. This is how it looks at our house.

I don't know if I ever shared my Smurf shot this year... .this guy has been traveling the country, getting his photo taken.
I wonder where this ole boy is now? How can we see all his portraits???
I fell off the Project 52 wagon some time ago, but I did manage to still get this guy to my door and off again to Aurora, CO.

Went out to the lovely sand dunes. We used to go fourwheeling and horseback riding on these dunes, but this time we walked.
Subject: Blue
As soon as I saw this weeks theme I thought of doing smoke trails. I am not sure why, I have never done them before and have had no inclination to try. Maybe it has to do with the Vatican and the Conclave. White smoke today and soon to announce the new pope.
Anyway back to the smoke trails, can you see the face and shoulders, if not maybe you need to spend a few minutes in the smoke.
ISO 200, 50mm, f6.3 and 1/160
Off camera flash, at 90 degrees to the camera, with a Blue Gel & Snoot.
The image was editted in Photoshop Elements, I have replaced the background colour from black to white(ish). I have duplicated the image and flipped it vertically, to give a mirror image.
I am excited to be a part of this amazing group once again this year. These little guys have been floating around with our boys for over 10 years and now my youngest son who is about to turn 3 is learning all about Star Wars. Star Wars is such a staple in our home between my husband, (who is a huge fan boy) and the boys who have always been crazy over Star Wars. It is nice to look back and think of the fun and memories that my oldest son had with so many of these and now my youngest is about to embark on his own star wars adventures!
