A little late...

This is my Origami Owl necklace. It respresents the most important "pieces of me". The plate in the back reads family, the "C" represents our family (last) name, and each of the jewel birthstones represents a member. Ruby for the hubs, Amethyst for me, Diamond for our daughter, and Blue Topaz for our son.

Because of arthritis and hip dysplasia my golden has a hard time walking, but he still insists on trips down to get our paper and mail. As long as he's still happy, I don't care how many stops he has to take to make it back up our long driveway.

I am excited to be a part of this amazing group once again this year. These little guys have been floating around with our boys for over 10 years and now my youngest son who is about to turn 3 is learning all about Star Wars. Star Wars is such a staple in our home between my husband, (who is a huge fan boy) and the boys who have always been crazy over Star Wars. It is nice to look back and think of the fun and memories that my oldest son had with so many of these and now my youngest is about to embark on his own star wars adventures!

Subject: Anticipation

Well back from holidays and straight back to work, just about caught up on the emails.

I have a couple of ideas for this weeks subject, one of which I set up and shot, but didn't like it. So we're back to Friday shooting and a different option.

After finish a few books on holiday, it's time to start a new one (this one is made of paper!). I wonder what adventure and where it will take me?

Week 5's photo is one I started planning around week 2 or 3 I think! My problem was that I feel awkward taking photos of myself when people could potentially be watching. Finally a day came round when no one was home so I ducked outside and took it.

It's a good way of showing how I've essentially spent most of my free time since the start of the uni summer holidays - I've read the complete works of Jane Austen, Michael J. Fox's autobiography 'Always Looking Up', the complete Twilight saga, the complete Keys to the Kingdom series and I've just started on the book pictured - a collection of the works of the Bronte sisters (I'm trying to read some more classics, and I'm quite enjoying them). Reading has been easier than movie watching this summer - I've spent part of it with various renovations, meaning the house hasn't been as cool as normal, so it's been too hot to have my computer on my lap.

This photo was actually a test photo, but I liked it the best out of what I took, so I've cropped it to get rid of my hand holding the wireless remote. Not sure if it looks odd? I also had the issue that in front of the tree was quite dark and the paddock quite bright, so I used a Curves adjustment layer and masked out the paddock bit, then did a Levels adjustment over the top. Quite happy with how it came out.

@greygirl25

Once again this year I am doing the Project 52 with Don Giannetti. It has a twist this year and it’s a little more challenging.

My goal for this assignment I’m trying to get an image of Timber at sunset.

I live in Oregon and it’s February. Challenge #1. I looked out the window almost a little too late to catch it tonight. I have all of my eggs in one basket for tomorrow, it’s our only sunny day for the next 10 days at least.

Tonight was a trial run and Timber was so good. He knows he’s beautiful and he doesn’t mind showing it.

A busy week at work equals a quiet week on the camera. I only took 4 photos - this was one of them.

I was on my way to buy some batteries for my remote triggers when I noticed the large trolley park. Maybe next week for the flash work!

My purple painted toes describe a few things about me. Purpletoes, with the addition of my maiden name, was my very first e-mail address. All the forms of my name were taken so I had to think of something fun. That's when I looked down and noticed my purple painted toenails. That e-mail address led to purpletoes becoming my moniker for many websites, including this one! Somehow, using this name still gives me a connection to my maiden name. Also, one of my biggest pet peeves is unnpainted toenails! I'm not really a fan of other peoples feet. Hopefully mine don't gross too many people out!

Love the light hitting the rail, the pillars, and the building in the distance. I also like the lines in the bottom half of the picture

do you think she has cross-eyed? we had a big discussion XD

This is Beaufont. Currently, she lives in the kitchen, but she has been a few other places in the house. I always love the shadows she makes on my floors or the silhouettes she makes on my windows, but they are so hard to photograph. Photographs typically don't do her justice. Until now....kind of. Although you don't see all of Beaufont in her colorful hanging glory, you do get to see a pretty cool silhouette. By mistake of course...I didn't mean to cover her up with the curtain, but I didn't want my neighbors to see into my kitchen.

Thanks Beau for being so pretty ♥️
