I have taken a very similar panoramic shot before from the roof at work, although that version was converted into black and white and contained office blocks which no longer exist, and the new contains those which are being created in their place. Indeed all changes in life, whether or not we want it to.
Having run a project 365 last year and working my way through a project 52 which has faltered at times, I think next year I'll take a pass from taking on another fixed project. One thing I have always found when doing these is that it seems to be at the expense of enjoying the photos that I have taken and making them about having something to show at the end of the year. In doing so something seems to get lost in the process, and whilst I can still periodically head out with the intention of enjoying taking getting lost camera in hand, next year I'd like it to be much more about the moment.
Wheat
Another try with the photo light tent. It is a tradition to have 7 wheat ears from the last summer in one's home : it is supposed to bring luck. Those ears date back from 2009 : they are the remains from a flower bouquet I got from my colleagues in some hard times.

This is Summer the Maltipoo. I adopted her years ago (she's about... 10 years old); I was told she came from an abused home so she's very, very shy around people and other animals. She still gets scared over a lot of stuff such as walking her towards the trash can, raising anything above her head, and very loud noises.
However, Summer loves to play (and roll) in dirt, eat everything in sight and sleep all day.
Valentine's Day certainly provides for lots of candy!

I had a few images from this walk along South Bank... but I wanted to choose something a little different for the actual 52 as I want the set to be varied. Not taking an image every day is good, but then you don't have so many opportunities to choose from.
I like this image because it is busy and colourful - shame the letters on the sign are a little obscured - you can't have everything!
A new 11 month old grand girl. She is on her last month before she hits the one-digits. I know it is so cliche, but man do they grow fast. This is in my backyard, we have lots of flag stonework that I love.
Project 52 - #2
I needed a bit of color in my life last week... (and I also needed some backgrounds for my collage) so I ripped some old books apart (VERY hard for a retired English teacher to do) and painted them in a rainbow of colors. Now I have a whole stack of bright and colorful papers... all ready for my collages!

After a Editorial Assignment with Author Vince Antonucci I was introduced to Tommy, a Local vegas tattoo artist. His beard and smile just had to be photographed. More to come on my blog.

One light - AB800 Beauty Dish w/ Diffusion Sock at 1/16 power boomed overhead and about 12 inches from head.
HIM:
1. He wears a Dallas jersey and explains the conspiracy theories as to why they are not playing in the game.
2. Rolls his eyes at me while I visit with friends on the phone and do anything to distract from the game.
3. Doesn't think my "Go Sports" sign is funny. (I got it from Big Bang when Leonard painted his belly for Penny)
Me:
1. I am only here for the commercials and half time show.
Its tough to imagine a flyer from In-N-Out without a picture of their hamburger meat, arguably the best hamburger you can get in California. So when I saw this flyer, I had to take a photo for the fifth week's theme of Project 52: vegetable.
The flyer was printed in such a high quality that even in this photograph, little droplets of water on the lettuce and tomatoe are visible. Great fun photographing this flyer.

This was so much fun to put together! I had penguin's camera when I was a kid and the penguin belongs to my daughter. It's absolutely perfect that his belly shows photos! Look closely and you'll see that the bears get to preview their photos as penguin takes them. I wish I could do that!

The rainbow nail idea came from 2012 (the year not the film!)
The new year is full of possibilities, hopes, wishes, dreams and potential. I wanted to convey these notions openly.
Original photo is in outtakes for anyone interested.
