Had a meeting down in London in the week. Never have much of a chance to see the sites, just in and out on the train, managed to snap a few though!

29/52: Project 52 - mirror image

My interpretation of the theme - cut this fig in half so that each half is a mirror image of the other...it's a bit like identical twins though...there are still slight differences! So, I hope this is acceptable for the theme.

Taken this morning, reflected fence in river. iPhone shot.

Replication

When I walked out my front door this morning on my way to work and saw the beginnings of the beautiful sunrise (thankfully the sun is coming up later these days), I knew exactly where I was going to stop on my way to work.

I drive past this vineyard everyday and have never taken the time to stop and photograph it. Just think of the opportunities I've missed!

The replicated lines of vines worked beautifully to catch the light as the sun peeked over the horizon.

This is also for sale as a canvas print on my website: www.kevinbrownephotography.com

Thank you for looking.

Unusual crosshatched sunrise on Monday morning. Bird photobomb. SOOC.

Project 52: A touch of red

The more I work on these prompts, the more inspiration I'm finding around my own house. My house was built in 1921; these are the original hardwood floors. Funny story, before this house was renovated four years ago, it was ransacked by raccoons. I'm sure the distress of these floors is mostly due to them, but I like the character it gives, even if it is broken down.

Really struggled for time and inspiration on this weeks prompt but here are the instructions for my new cooker hood printed on some paper. Sorry

Ugens emne farve er tolket med farveblyanter indkøbt til formålet placeret på sort karton. Billedet er skudt uden døre, hvor eneste lyskilde var stor lampe og stor softbox (læs: sol bag skydække)

strobist: AB-800, 1/8 power, 1/8-inch grid, above and right, triggered by sync cable. white reflector to the left. white foam panel below.

This project does not look even close to what I would like it to look like but Ok this is a first trial

I'll keep working on it and the one from 2009 will be better :)

Tell a story with a picture

Charlie makes everything more 'bearable' :)

The other morning I saw this wonderful frost that was painted on our shed. I saw how grey and cold that it looked. I feel this photo shows the theme of "Grey"

(DSC04458)

An unexpected windmill reminded me to look for surprising joys hidden in my day to day humdrum.

Nothing struck me as pastel shades for this weeks theme until I remembered these. Fruit Pastilles (I know its a loose connection but I went with it). Managed to get a few shots before they disappeared.

This year I've decided to take on Project 52 alongside a number of other photographers around the world. You can keep up with our progress on this blog. I'm so excited to start something anew since I've missed Project 365 so much.

Happy new year, everybody. Stay safe, stay golden. x

On Black

Low key shot of a clarinet, with the light coming from the late afternoon sun, hence the the slightly warmer tone.

This weeks theme = Local wildlife.

You can't get more local than this!

I'm not sure what type of bird it is, but for the last 3 weeks it has been attacking it's reflection in our living room window. Tap tap tap tap tap...... gets a bit annoying..
