Shoot the ingredients for a recipe. See setup shot for lighting details

Project 52, episode 5: Proverbs. Many hands don't just make work easier -- they also make it so that light works!

Week 20- Patterns

Ellenburg Photography Project 52

Yes, I took a different take on this week's theme and went with the old sewing patterns. Sadly, I never got around to learning how to use them

My New Year's resolution each year is to read more books than I did the year before. In 2011 I read 42 (yes, I kept track). My hope this year is to read 50. Of course, I am behind on this goal already, since I am starting the year out with a book that is over 1000 pages long. Maybe the next one will be shorter :)

Other goals: Keep a gratitude journal, learn how to use my external flash (why does it intimidate me so much??) and do lots of arts and crafts with my daughter.

Week 3 of my 52 weeks project. Taken last week, but only just edited.

I've added a little texture to add depth to the image.

Someone is happy for fall and even though it doesn't look like fall outside. At least we can buy fall outfits.

Maggie and I take swim lessons at the local pool on Tuesdays. We usually get there early and Maggie spends her time standing under the shower, soaking in the heat. Swim day might be her favorite day of the week.

The second instalment in our Project 52, a selfportrait. I had some moderate trouble getting the picture in focus (since I don't have a remote), and some fun putting the two shots together -- which actually is quite straightforward. I didn't brush out the right side of my face (left side for the viewer), but rather overexposed it using flash. This left only some light outlines I had to brush out.

Setup:

Portait: Metz 48 AF-1 @1/2, 35mm, subject left, DIY snoot, into silver reflector on subject right

Canvas: Metz 48 AF-1 @1/32, 35mm, subject top left, DIY snoot

Flash triggered using optical trigger.

This week's theme is stash..I mean stack! This is my stack of stash. I saved them just to get the photo. Let's just say after this week....I needed a BREAK. :->

Look & Like Angelia's Photography Facebook

J'ai cherché autour de moi ce qui était souvent à mes côtés. Et j'ai vu mes bras et au bout mes mains. Je suis allé au plus simple ;-)

I looked around me for what was often at my side. And I saw my arms and at the end my hands. I went to the simplest ;-)

If you have not guessed yet, this is the heart of my ex-mp3 player, a Rio Karma, from Digital Networks. It was 20GB, played ogg vorbis files, tiny, convenient, powerful and full of features. It may not seem special like this, but I got it in Fall 2003, and if you recall, players weren't 20GB very commonly back then. It was my present from myself to myself right after submitting a painful thesis which would finally end my Master of Science.

Now, even if I got a juicy iPod and even more appealing iPhone, I never forgot my Karma. It had features that the iPod still doesn't have, like the possibility to load a bunch of songs of your choice, like an impromptu playlist and to append a track right after the one already playing, just to follow more acutely the listener's desires. Oh why, oh why there haven't been a newer model? I still mourn you, Karma...

Strobist Info: Nikon SB-26 inside a 28" Westcott Apollo camera left @ 1/8 power, and a Nikon SB-26 home made grid to the camera right @ 1/32 power.

The scene was bare with just a minimum. I chose this because of it simplicity and serenity. I do not look at the others photos in the group so that I am not influenced by their work. I do enjoy viewing after I have submitted mine.

He chose to stand by the tree and give us the rock 'n' roll sign all by himself.

This guy will always be a little boy at heart!

Project 52

Week 21

Theme: Energy

7 of 52 Wild card

For the "wild card" theme I chose macro. I love macro photography second only to taking photos of my daughter :) One of these days I am going to get a macro lens..

These are flowers from my husband for Valentine's Day. Naturally I had to get some photos of them.
