We taught a special robot class for adults and teens at Tam Makers, to show them how to create their own artistic robot. This 2-part evening course took took place in our makerspace at Tam High School in Mill Valley.
Our four students learned how to build their bots from scratch, then make them move in a different ways, using a programmable Arduino board. Each student received their own robot kit, which they learned to assemble and control. They first built a chassis, then wired up the electronics, assembled a remote control, then added a head and arms, with servo motors to make them move.
They then took their completed robots home with them, after the class ended. Now that their bots are assembled and operational, we hope they will learn how to program them and make them move in different ways. We have invited them to join our weekly Maker Club workshops on Thursdays, so we can coach them on how to keep improving their bots.
For this course, my partner Edward Janne and I created our own robot kit, using an Arduino Feather M0 for the robot, an RF remote, a custom chassis, plus three additional servos and more parts. Our robot kit is similar to commercial products, but with a lot more features, at a lower cost. It was a lot of work, but we’re very happy with the final results, and our students seemed to really enjoy the class. We hope this will encourage other teachers, students and makers to create their own animated characters, for art and technology’s sake.

This cabin was owned by another relative of Davy Crockett, and built during that time. I believe this family donated some of the wood from this cabin to help rebuild Davy's house.

This time I’m presenting to you a research station somewhere on an unknown planet. Building has three main interiors - a garden, where cosmonauts are trying to grow plants. Main hall with reception, place to rest and vending machine with drinks. Conference room with seats and hologram to communicate with headquarters.
Outside of the building you can spot energy source connected with the main structure via bridge. Bridge was required, that red shiny thing below is a sea of lava - cosmonauts are using heat to generate electricity.
On the roof there is a place for radar with a control panel.
In the front of the station one of the workers found something in the soil, probably something interesting, because he looks excited ;)

New to Xelabus(428), Colden Common, in 12/2016, this relatively smart, by Warrington's standard, Enviro 200 is seen here on Winwick Street, arriving at Warrington Bus Interchange, on 13/03/2024. It is operating in on Service 19 11:54 Leigh Bus Station - Glazebury - Culcheth - Croft - Winwick - Longford - Warrington Bus Interchange. This is among a number of second/third hand Enviro 200s, along with sister 245, YY66PDX, in Warrington's mish-mash of a fleet(and liveries). It's destination has already been set for a return service. There are 105 electric Volvo BZL single-deckers due for Warrington, the arms length operated municipal operator, which obtained with ZEBRA funding. Keyboards, MP3 Players, Guitars (might be a little quiet). You can also plug in the output to a set of external speakers or headphones for more flexibility.

I own only two Ken dolls in total, although I'd love to have more of them, but this is one of the most unique, extravagantly dressed Kens I've ever seen. I call him Mr. Peacock for all the colors about him. I purchased him used but with his complete outfit, with his accessories and even in his own box. Apart from some minor damage to the jacket, he's perfect. His face was all shiny and sticky though but I used baby wipes and they did the trick. That was some months ago and she still hasn't got shiny again.

What unites these independent breweries is the fact that most of them started their business in their own homes and kitchens. And now you can do the same! Start designing a beer brand and learn how to brew your own sixpack. From milling and mashing to filtering, storage, naming and bottling.
This workshop is divided into two parts, brewing (6 hrs.) and bottling (1 hr), and given by Simon Buijs from Brouwerij De Bierkraai.
