This stream comes from a spring that cascades out from under a boulder high up on the ridge in the distance. It plays it own special music as it tumbles down the mountain where it joins many other such streams, eventually forming the great Vartry river which enters the port of Wicklow 20 miles to the south east.
The lone Mountain Ash stands and watches its passing as it has done for so many years.
A wild and a beautiful place.

Last summer I went to a farm that had "Pick Your Own Flowers" and enjoyed walking through many rows of flowers. This is the bouquet I picked myself. HSS

The Monarch butterflies have returned to my garden, collecting nectar from the Asclepias and Milkweed, soon I hope to see tiny eggs laid on the underside of the Milkweed leaves :)

A personal achievement.
A great high altitude acclimatization workout.
First time I climb the summit alone, even though I have people on the same trail, there was no closer contact. Each in its own time.
There was drizzle and a light rain.
Cloudy weather is part of mountaineering.
It's cool to see the blue sky, but getting there is much better.
Adrenaline is the maximum and free.
8th September 2012 - Panavia Tornado GR4 'ZA547' wearing the 1,000,000 hour special scheme creates its own weather above the beach at Southport. This airframe was sadly reduced to spares at RAF Leeming in January 2014.
This Adelie Penguin looks very happy to have his own ice island. Taken from a zodiac near Paulet Island, which is a circular island off the north-east end of the Antarctic Peninsula. It is a popular tourist stop because of the large Adelie Penguin colony. This was the fifth penguin 🐧 species that we saw.
I have been away for a few days so will catch up with everyone.

Castle Schaloen is located near the city Valkenburg (Limburg, south of Holland). The castle is now owned and habitated by the family Bot and the extra buildings are used as hotel and cafetaria.
