i took this image today and loved what i saw reminded me of images from by gone days. thank you to anyone that likes it
It was owned by the Mir family (where the name Torre Mirona comes from). Inside the house there is a door on the lintel which is dated 1576. It seems that the first owner was Bernat Mir, documented towards the end of the 14th century. In 1633 it passed through marriage to the Martí family (where the name Torre Martina comes from).

This species provides an example of sex role reversal with the females being more brightly coloured than the males. Females will also choose a male and then defend him against other females and when the chicks have arrived, the female scarpers and the male raises them on his own.

The Monarch butterflies have returned to my garden, collecting nectar from the Asclepias and Milkweed, soon I hope to see tiny eggs laid on the underside of the Milkweed leaves :)
I always feel like I am observing the world, from some inner landscape, some private place, tucked away on an inner sunny roof ....sometimes it is stunningly beautiful, overwhelmingly marvelous and sometimes it is painfully colorless, stark and cruel. I take notes like a traveler that knows won't be long here and often transform those impression in fleeting images.
At some point, we all leave this place and move on an infinite journey through time and light.
It is best to look at the world with a bird's eye view, most matters become so small, and all is left is the infinite pure spaciousness of the sky above.
One of the Queen's own red deer stags in Windsor Great Park. I stalked him for 15 minutes doing everything right - upwind, silent etc. but he made me when I was still 60-70 metres away by the sound of the shutter which, I guess, isn't as silent as it seems. What a magnificent beast!
So, no need to make the trek to Scotland to see these. This photo was taken about 100 metres from the Long Walk which is where you saw Harry and Megan in their carriage on wedding day.
This is one of last years three young Kestrels that fledged from my nest box. They would fly between three big Oak trees practising their flying skills and calling to be fed.
The good news is, the parents are back in the box !!

Today I bottled my own handmade compound gin after 4 weeks of maturation and it's very good.
It's been in the news: "This is the first big partial eclipse to happen in the UK since 1999, and the next one isn't until August 2026, so this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity." - So all gear set up and waiting - hoping for a glimpse of that "once-in-a-generation" event...
BUT the weather didn't play by the rules where I live: Muddy skiess all morning... No sun to be seen, let alone the moon trying to cover it up...
Still, with all the gear in place, when the clouds went I decided to do a shot of the sun (background image - HDR'ed) and "post-processed" my moon in with Photoshop afterwards.
Ha: If you cannot rely on UK clear skies, create your own eclipse! ;-)

I was walking around Glanmore Lake. I saw this little donkey, he was standing still on his own. Peaceful & calmness evening.
This Adelie Penguin looks very happy to have his own ice island. Taken from a zodiac near Paulet Island, which is a circular island off the north-east end of the Antarctic Peninsula. It is a popular tourist stop because of the large Adelie Penguin colony. This was the fifth penguin 🐧 species that we saw.
I have been away for a few days so will catch up with everyone.
