Rabbit Subaru RS-3 is Fuji Rabbit based prototype 3wheeler made in 1965.
Its characteristic is variable tread for parking utility. It can be varied electrically from 1050mm to 670mm even on running. Unfortunately the production plan was cancelled.
The designer of rabbit subaru was an engineer of a local factory of FHI. He made the car on his own authority without support of the company. This just looks like the relation between Fritz Fend and Messerschmitt company. But the production plan was canceled and he failed to become Fritz Fend in Japan. Therefore rabbit subaru is not mentioned in the official history of FHI/subaru.
El Jay was owned an operated by the legendary Gus Fisher, a pioneer in high fashion bringing Christian Dior to many New Zealanders.
I had the privilege to meet and talk to Mr Fisher many years ago. It would have been 2002/2003 during a time that I worked at the nearby Price Waterhouse Tower, later Gen-I tower around the corner on Wyndham Street.
Initially Mr Fisher was abrupt and grumpy towards my interest in his business, but a after a few more attempts he decided to talk to me. I recall at the time he drove a rather new, red XK series Jaguar, and was always very smartly dressed in a tie possibly with a coat or cardigan.
I mostly wanted to know why his factory looked as if it were a time capsule, after hearing stories from my mum that his shops were once a buzz of activity back in the good old 60's and 70's. There were El Jay shops on Queen Street and Remuera but this was the main factory/shop on Kingston Street.
So the day Mr Fisher actually stopped to talk, I was surprised.. hoping to get a look inside the building! It didn't come to that but a long conversation did occur. Mr Fisher asked if I was interested in the fashion industry, and we spoke freely about various topics but the main one being why his store appeared to be closed. He said it wasn't and that he still worked there, which I guess was true as I did see him there with the loading door open many times but the building looked tired an not in use in general.
Mr Fisher was happy to talk, and told me about the old days and how things were prior to a health issue that stopped him from traveling on planes, and attending the many world fashion shows which were necessary to have an edge in the fashion industry. El Jay closed in 1988, having retained the Christian Dior license to the very end.
I appreciated Mr Fisher taking the time to talk, and I think he enjoyed reminiscing of days gone by. The job I had eventually came to an end and I moved on, we never had another converstation again but did smile or say hello.
Mr Fisher died in July 2010. I later found out his factory was opened to the public for a sale of fabrics in 2013, and for any curious person to take a look inside, I regret not knowing about it sooner as I missed that opportunity.
I hope the El Jay factory remains and maybe one day, restored as it is sad to see Auckland's past slipping away. We should all respect what was here before, preserving as much of it as we can.

During our Arduino 101 classes and ‘You Can Make It’ workshops, participants learned to build new projects using the popular Arduino boards, with guidance from our staff and other community members.
Many of our members are experienced makers, who are happy to share what they know. Some of the cool maker projects they built together include a graceful robot spider, an eagle god with creepy eyes, an Arduino-powered garage opener, a Wifi server on a chip, and more.
If you are interested in creating your own maker project with the help of others, join our Maker Clubs on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9pm in the woodshop at Tam High School in Mill Valley.

The historic New Jersey Renault Winery was founded in 1864. Once a year, wine lovers come from all over for the annual grape stomping. After you crush the grapes with your bare feet, the juice is put into a bottle for you to take home and ferment. "Wine of Your Own Feet..." if I may say. Besides the grape stomping, there are dozens of booths with food, drink, and crafts.

Rambert owns one of the most complete dance archives in the UK, dating back to the foundation of the company in 1926. Up until 2012 the vast collections were completely un-catalogued.
Rambert Moves: Unlocking the Passion was a transformational project supported by the HLF to catalogue, conserve and increase access to the Archive in preparation for the move to new headquarters on London's South Bank in 2013.
Since this project the Archive and its volunteers have continued working and fundraising to ensure the resources and recent successes strengthen the company, contribute to the vitality of the art form and enrich learning locally, nationally and internationally.
On arrival, both locomotives will pose for photographs in a unique line up beside our own newly restored and operational 4079 “Pendennis Castle” and cosmetically restored 5051 “Drysllwyn Castle”. Following the line up, the two visiting locomotives will be turned and take coal and water before heading off back home.
2023 marks an important anniversary in the history of the Great Western Railway. 100 years ago, No. 4073 Caerphilly Castle was completed and put into service. This marked the beginning of what is considered by many as the most successful Express Passenger steam locomotives the UK ever produced - the Castle Class.
To celebrate this, Didcot Railway Centre in partnership with Vintage Trains at Tyseley, are working to bring you two very special events. We will bring together four restored Castles in one place. At Didcot we will see 4079 Pendennis Castle and 5051 Drysllwyn Castle alongside Tyseley’s 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe and 7029 Clun Castle for a few hours on Saturday 4th March. In return, Pendennis Castle will make a visit to Tyseley later in the year and be displayed on an open day. To have all four together in one place on the same day is an amazing achievement. Join us in March to help us celebrate this very rare event.
7029 – Clun Castle, is a relative newcomer to mainline steam having been built in 1950 by British Railways to the famous Great Western Railway Castle class design. She took the record for the shortest timed point to point journey from Plymouth to Bristol in 1964 from the previous record holder, City of Truro. This epic run by the last of her class in every day service ensured 7029's preservation and she came to Tyseley to begin a distinguished second career in preservation.
5043 – Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, is Vintage Trains' second member of the Castle Class, but unlike the others was built in 1936 and so is an authentic GWR locomotive, named after one of the directors of the GWR. When first withdrawn from service, she was consigned to Barry Scrapyard but found too good to destroy. Tyseley Locomotive Works rebuilt 5043 to exacting standards and she has run far and wide for Vintage Trains, including unfamiliar territory such as Stirling and Edinburgh in Scotland. 5043 is back in action after returning to Steam in the second half of 2021 after a 10 year boiler overhaul.
4079 – Pendennis Castle, was the seventh of 171 Castles built and was completed at Swindon in February 1924. On the 2nd April 2022, ‘Pendennis Castle’ was launched back into traffic following a 20+ year overhaul. Since then, she has won a number of awards for both the restoration and her service history. She will be having a couple of holidays to other Railways this year so stay tuned for her various exploits!
5051 – Drysllwyn Castle/ Earl Bathurst, was built at Swindon in May 1936. She was renamed ‘Earl Bathurst’ in August 1937 and carried that name for the rest of her GWR and BR life. Both names are regularly used on the locomotive at Didcot. She was rescued by a Society member and brought to Didcot in February 1970. She then ran many main line specials between (in the early years with Didcot's vintage train) until 1986 when the main line ticket ran out. The engine then ran at Didcot until the boiler certificate ran out in 1990. Following a second overhaul she was returned to service, and enjoyed runs out on the mainline once more, and visits to other preserved railways as well as Didcot duties. In 2008 the latest boiler certificate expired and the locomotive is now on static display until such time as a further overhaul can take place.

13 times, I have cycled 7 days, 575 miles, from San Francisco to Los Angeles in a cycling charity event called AIDSLifecycle. In route to Los Angeles, I (and 2,000 of my best friends) cycle thru Montecito - the home to Oprah Winfrey.
Each Year, the locals of Montecito gather and create their own "Paradise Pit Stop" for the approx. 2,000 AIDSLifecycle Cyclist & 400 Volunteer Crew members. There you can find: chocolate bars, strawberries, homemade ice cream, vegan treats, corn dogs, Twinkies, coco cola, massages, and then some.. ... ALL YOU CAN EAT ...GRATIS!
Years ago (as I ate my strawberries and homemade ice cream), I asked several Montecito residents: "Where is the Oprah Winfrey Network?"

The California Northern Railroad, now owned by Genesee and Wyoming, has run the former SP West Valley Sub from Davis north to Gerber, paralleled by I5 from Wooland north. I recently followed its road train from Dunnigan, where I found it, south to Yolo, where the roads and track separate and the light ran out. North of Yolo, old US 99W runs along the track, allowing for an easy chase of a train that now runs 10 to 25 MPH on track that used to host the Coast Starlight at 70 MPH until it was re-routed through Sacramento in 1981.
The automatic block signal system is still in place and the signals dropped to red as the train passed them, and then cleared as the train left the block.
The train I followed had GP15-1 #1570. It stopped at Zamora to pick up some covered hoppers that had been loaded at the elevator with rice.

Kedleston Hall is a neo-classical manor house owned by the National Trust, and seat of the Curzon family, located in Kedleston, Derbyshire, approximately 4 miles (6 km) north-west of Derby. The medieval village of Kedleston was moved in 1759 by Nathaniel Curzon to make way for the manor.[2] All that remains of the original village is the 12th century All Saints Church, Kedleston.[3]
Background
The current house was commissioned in 1759 by Nathaniel Curzon and designed by Robert Adam.[4]
The Curzon family, whose name originates in Notre-Dame-de-Courson in Normandy, have been in Kedleston since at least 1297, and have lived in a succession of manor houses near to or on the site of the present Kedleston Hall. The present house was commissioned by Sir Nathaniel Curzon (later 1st Baron Scarsdale) in 1759. The house was designed by the Palladian architects James Paine and Matthew Brettingham and was loosely based on an original plan by Andrea Palladio for the never-built Villa Mocenigo.
At the time a relatively unknown architect, Robert Adam, was designing some garden temples to enhance the landscape of the park; Curzon was so impressed with his designs that Adam was quickly put in charge of the construction of the new mansion.
On the death of Richard Curzon, 2nd Viscount Scarsdale in 1977, expenses compelled the heir, his cousin (Francis Curzon), to transfer the property to the care of the National Trust.[5]
Exterior
Kedleston Hall was Brettingham's opportunity to prove himself capable of designing a house to rival Holkham Hall. The opportunity was taken from him by Robert Adam who completed the North front (above) much as Brettingham designed it, but with a more dramatic portico.

The design of the three-floored house is of three blocks linked by two segmentally curved corridors. The ground floor is rusticated, while the upper floors are of smooth-dressed stone. The central, corps de logis, the largest block, contains the state rooms and was intended only for formal entertaining. The East block was a self-contained country house in its own right, containing all the rooms for the family's private use, and the identical West block contained the kitchens and all other domestic rooms and staff accommodation.
Plans for two more pavilions (as the two smaller blocks are known), of identical size and similar appearance, were never executed. These further wings were intended to contain, in the south-east a music room, and in the southwest a conservatory and chapel. Externally these latter pavilions would have differed from their northern counterparts by large glazed Serlian windows on the piano nobile of their southern facades. Here the blocks were to appear as of two floors only; a mezzanine was to have been disguised in the north of the music room block. The linking galleries here were also to contain larger windows, than on the north, and niches containing classical statuary.
The north front, approximately 117 yards [107 m] in length, is Palladian in character, dominated by a massive, six-columned Corinthian portico; however, the south front (illustrated right) is pure neoclassical Robert Adam. This garden facade is divided into three distinct sets of bays; the central section is a four-columned, blind triumphal arch (based on the Arch of Constantine in Rome) containing one large, pedimented glass door reached from the rusticated ground floor by an external, curved double staircase. Above the door, at second-floor height, are stone garlands and medallions in relief.
The four Corinthian columns are topped by classical statues. This whole centre section of the facade is crowned by a low dome visible only from a distance. Flanking the central section are two identical wings on three floors, each three windows wide, the windows of the first-floor piano nobile being the tallest. Adam's design for this facade contains huge "movement" and has a delicate almost fragile quality.
Hall
Marble Hall 1763, decoration completed in 1776-7
Entering the house through the great north portico on the piano nobile, one is confronted by the marble hall. Nikolaus Pevsner describes this as one of the most magnificent apartments of the 18th century in England.[6] It measures 67 feet (20 m) by 37 feet (11 m) in plan and is 40 feet (12 m) high.
Twenty fluted pink Nottingham alabaster columns with Corinthian capitals support the heavily decorated, high-coved cornice. Niches in the walls contain casts of classical statuary by Matthew Brettingham the Younger and others;[6] above the niches are grisaille panels of Homeric subjects inspired by Palladio's illustration of the Temple of Mars. The stucco in the ceiling was created by Joseph Rose in the 1770s.[6]
The floor is of inlaid Italian marble. Matthew Paine's original designs for this room intended for it to be lit by conventional windows at the northern end, but Adam, warming to the Roman theme, did away with the distracting windows and lit the whole from the roof through innovative glass skylight.
The overmantels to the fireplaces are by Joseph Rose with firebaskets by Robert Adam.[6]
At Kedleston, the hall symbolises the atrium of the Roman villa and the adjoining saloon the vestibulum.
Saloon
The saloon
The saloon, contained behind the triumphal arch of the south front, like the marble hall rises the full height of the house, 62 feet (19 m) to the top of the dome, where it too is sky-lit through a glass oculus. Designed as a sculpture gallery, this circular room 42 feet (13 m) in width was completed in 1763.
The decorative theme is based on the temples of the Roman Forum with more modern inventions: in the four massive, apse-like recesses are stoves disguised as pedestals for classical urns.[1] The paintings of ruins are by Gavin Hamilton and the grisaille panels have scenes of British worthies painted by John Biagio Rebecca.[6]
The four sets of double doors giving entry to the room have heavy pediments supported by scagliola columns, and at second-floor height, grisaille panels depict classical themes.
From the saloon, the atmosphere of the 18th-century Grand Tour is continued throughout the remainder of the principal reception rooms of the piano nobile, though on a slightly more modest scale.
State bedroom
The "principal apartment", or State bedroom suite, contains fine furniture and paintings.
The state bed was constructed by James Gravenor of Derby.[7] The state bed posts are carved to represent palm tree trunks which soar up and break into flamboyant foliage at the top, sweeping in palm-fronds behind.[8]
Drawing room

The drawing room with huge alabaster Venetian window is 44 feet (13 m) by 28 feet (8.5 m) by 28 feet (8.5 m). The doorcase is also alabaster. The fireplace with a scene of virtue rewarded by honour and riches is flanked by large female figures sculpted by Michael Henry Spang.[6] The gilt sofas by John Linnell date from around 1765.[9] They were commissioned by the 1st Baron Scarsdale and supplied, together with a second pair of sofas to Kedleston in 1765.
Dining room
The dining room
The dining room, with its gigantic apse, has a ceiling that Adam based on the Domus Augustana in the Farnese Gardens. The apse contains curved tables designed by Adam in 1762[6] and a giant wine cooler. The ceiling contains panel paintings of the continents by Antonio Zucchi, the seasons by Gavin Hamilton and the centre is by George Morland. The original wall panels are by Francesco Zuccarelli, Frans Snyders, Claude and Giovanni Francesco Romanelli.
Music Room
The Music Room has Ionic doorcases and delicate plaster ceiling designed by Adam. The marble chimneypiece is inlaid with Blue John. The pipe organ was second hand by John Snetzler with the case designed by Robert Adam and built by Robert Gravenor.[10] A second manual with Hautboy was added in 1824 by Alexander Buckingham.[11] The organ was restored in 1993 by Dominic Gwynn.
Library
The Library
The library contains a Roman doric doorcase leading to the Saloon. The bookcases were designed by Robert Adam[6] and built by James Gravenor of Derby.[12] The plaster ceiling is divided into octagonal patterns. The library desk was built in 1764 by James Gravenor. Wikipedia

Now owned by the National Trust, Montacute House in Somerset, England, is an Elizabethan mansion, dating from the late 16th century.
The house was built in 1598, by Sir Edward Phelips, Master of the Rolls, who was the crown prosecutor at the trial of the notorious Gunpowder Plotters.

After stopping, the 20+ Bottlenose Dolphins put on a show for about an hour, playing under the boat, leaping about and riding the strong northerly wave chop. We ended up getting bored and had to drive off on them...they rode the bow again on the way back in. An incredible experience.

I Choked By Own Vomits da Rakovink sono uno dei nomi più seguiti del goregrind made in Czech Republic. In giro da ormai dieci anni, si sono fatti notare grazie a Shit Autopsy: quest'album, uscito nel 2009 per Nice To Eat You Records, ha fatto loro guadagnare il palco dell’Obscene Extreme, festival nato sempre in Repubblica Ceca (ma ora anche con edizioni asiatiche, americane ed australiane) che segue le derive più oltranziste del metal e dell’hardcore.
Se siete degli appassionati del genere e gradite tempi cadenzati e growl ipergutturali/suini, allora i quattro Choked By Own Vomits sono il gruppo che fa per voi.
