I'm not certain about the species, but this seems to be a self-sown variety of glory-of-the-snow (Chionodoxa)
A light snowfall welcomed students to school today. The buses were covered in an interesting mess of dirt, ice, and snow. My shutter speed was insufficiently slow to give streaks from the lazy flakes, instead leaving large white specks that look like dust on the lens.
The last known original Lockheed Model 10 Electra was moved to Atchison, KS and paraded through town enroute to permanent display. This model plane is remembered for being flown by aviatrix Amelia Earhart when she disappeared.

This Subtractive Filter Harris Shutter Effect image was constructed from three successive frames after warping/registering static details on the background. Moving subjects gave colored ghosts, while camera wobble generated minor background details.

Technical trivia
Stereo realist loaded with Kodak Ultramax 400. Contrast was enhanced using Jeff Masamori's quick method (generate a copy, equalize histogram, then blend with the original).
Image manipulations and gif generation done with StereoPhotoMaker, a freeware program by Masuji Suto & David Sykes.

美しい脚は、部分的に見ても美しい。それはそうだが、特に太ももは表情が豊かである。一方、膝下の、いわゆるすねの裏側は、けっこう難しい。筋肉の張りが、私は嫌いで、どちらかと言えば、力のないすっきりした、それでいて緩やかな水分の感じられる脚が好きだ。油分や筋力の強調は好まない。
その意味では、この作品は、それほど褒められた代物ではない。
まあ、それでもいい。これは私である。私が自身を認めるのである。
今気づいたのだが、前ページと同じ画像の一部だった。まあ、それでもいい。古人は言っている「美しければすべてよろしい」とな。

A menber of the color guard waves a flag and the shadow passes over stationary bandmembers, Rosefest parade 6/22/26 (Roseville, MN). I left the Dutch angle uncorrected because of the pleasing effect on the shadows.

Iron Photographer 228 has me wondering about double exposures again. These experiments with the XZ-1's in camera double exposure mode require framing proximate subjects, within 60 seconds, rather than waiting to combine two ideal images. I did discover that the camera allows one to change from normal to macro mode during this time, allowing for quick Orton effect and other weirdness..
IP 228 asks for:
1 - a face (over a lamp)
2 - your usual coffee/tea cup (showing Hokusai's "The Great Wave")
3 - double exposure (performed ex-camera, with software)
How it was done:
An image of me hovering over a lamp, holding a tea bag, was taken. The lamp shade was partially covered with foil so only the top oval of light was apparent. The framing guidelines were used to estimate the width of this oval. A second image of my cup, taken against a dark field (darkened room) was taken to match the first image without scaling. Minor registry tweaking, (additive) combination of the images and cropping gave this result.
A nearby driveway was being resurfaced.

Technical Trivia
Three frames taken hand-held were registered before abstracting red, green, and blue channels from sequential images. Slow shutter speed (1/15 s) was used to enhance blur in nearby vehicles. One frame (the green one) was slightly blurred by camera shake with little ill effect on overall clarity. The color layers recombined to generate this image. Color enhancement involved several steps outlined in (Harris shutter effect) Grizzly Classic hurdler.

Don't have a shaving mug, at the moment, but the thought started me thinking of mugging for the camera which eventually meandered here.

I was practicing with the radicchio to get the appearance of veins on the egg (for Halloween) but it didn't quite work.

Integration signal to noise reduction (SNR) reinforces locally similar elements of the immobile subject, sharpening them, while weakening dissimilar background elements (e.g. elements out of register).

This hot rod thrums more sweetly than the muscle cars around town, and it never peels out.
A person watching as the schoolbus passes was selected as a visual reference and made to stand out by an absence of detail.

This modified Harris Shutter Effect image generates colored "ghosts" on a black background. Things that move and other registration differences between three more-or-less sequential photos are emphasized while static features turn black. Imperfect registration can leave a faint outline of background details.
Three frames were registered for maximal congruity at the selected person while others and a bus passed by. A subtractive filter Harris shutter effect was applied for this result.
