A US Army radio operator of Blue (Rifle) Platoon Troop B, 1st Sqdn, 9th Cav, 1st Cavalry Division (Air-mobile), moves through purple smoke created by a smoke grenade during an assault mission which formed part of Operation PERSHING in the An Lao Valley, 28 July 1967. The grenade had been dropped by the troop commander from an OH-13 helicopter to mark the area to be checked for Viet Cong supply bunkers.

Sarah Grayson operated a Capital Transit Company streetcar for four months 1943-44 before officials discovered that she was African American and discharged her.
The company was the target of a desegregation campaign that lasted 15 years. The company did not knowingly hire African American operators until 1955.
Grayson said she was never asked about her race, but found it humorous when her coworkers would make disparaging remarks about African Americans and then try to chat her up for a date.
Grayson related that a neighbor told the company about her after being turned down for a job because of their race. According to Grayson, she had a flawless record.

Kula Kangri has been widely rumored to be the highest mountain in Bhutan, located in a remote space of Northern Bhutan, near the Chinese border. However, recent Chinese sources, with confirmation by Japanese sources, place Kula Kangri entirely within China, with elevation 7538 metres, not 7554 metres, as traditionally quoted. The Chinese survey further establishes that Gangkar Punsum is higher, at 7570 metres, and that it lies on the border between China and Bhutan, although no boundary accord has been all over with Bhutan.
Nevertheless, natural features argue in favor of Kula Kangri as being entirely at intervals China, and at the lower quoted height than traditionally given. It remains for Bhutan to conduct its own survey if the confusion or doubt is to be removed. The traditional height of Gangkar Punsum is 7541 metres, not 7570, as the modern Chinese survey indicates.
The divergence of opinion regarding Kula Kangri and Gangkar Punsum is heightend by the policy of {bhutan|Bhutan|Kingdom of Bhutan nation forbiddance rising of all mountains in Bhutan higher than 6000 metres since 1994, although a Japanese expedition claims to have reached Gangkar Punsum’s North summit, known as Liangkang Kangri (7535m) in 1999, which is still on the Chinese facet of the border as apparently regarded by China. Incidentally, the Latitude of Gangkar Punsum is believed to be 28.02.48 North, and Longitude ninety.27.21 East, whereas Kula Kangri’s is now quoted at twenty eight.13.34 N, 90.36.4 E.
G-OZBW - Airbus A.320-214 - Monarch Airlines
Originally delivered to UK operator "Air 2000" in 2001, this Airbus A.320 joined fellow UK operator Monarch Airlines in 2012. Seen here at Gatwick airport in July 2016, MSN 1571 continued to operate for MON right up until the carriers collapse in October 2017. Picked up on lease in 2018 by Lithuanian carrier Avion Express, the aircraft once again graced UK skies with a lease to Thomas Cook Airlines in 2019 (Ironically ended when TCX went under themselves). Earlier in 2021, the airframe was once again returned to the leasing company, this time due to the fallout from the current collapse in approved travel routes.
