For many years, we have had a fun practice, which has evolved, I suppose, to a tradition over the past decade or so within my immediate family and some close friends. Initially dubbed "Turkey Day Replay" it eventually has settled on the name "Second Thanksgiving" for us - where we make another Thanksgiving Dinner and sides in order to have more leftovers to enjoy. We also try out new recipes and experiment with other things that we might try on "First Thanksgivings" in the future.
The 2018 version of Second Thanksgiving is ready to be served, featuring: Smoked Turkey, Roasted Turkey, Dressing, Sweet Potato Souffle, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy (2 kinds), Dinner Rolls, Green Bean Casserole, and Strong Stuff!

The Littleton Diner is a 1940 Sterling Diner. It is a great, nostalgic place to eat if you're in the area.
£7, and rather good. Real home-made mash with good texture (just enough lumps to stop it being too smooth) and flavour (actually tasted of potato). The stew was good too; the meat was falling-apart tender and the gravy was rich and tasty.
$10.25 for:
-about 1/2 lb turkey breast with gravy
-stuffing
-potatoes
-a trip to the salad bar
-garlic bread
-yams
-awesome fresh veggies
-pie
and KIDS EAT FREE.
2 adult specials fed our family for lunch AND dinner. And it was awesome.

Country fried steak with mashed potatoes. I would love to eat a bucket of the fried batter and mashed potatoes! Unfortunately, each visit isn't consistent, but it's usually good versus average. Only $9. Big Al's, Cleveland.
And PEAS of course! These were sooooo good. Did they rival the pork? Nah....but they were damn tasty!! :)

I usually don't eat out this much, but I picked a fancy week to do this project. Tomorrow and Wednesday are leftovers for sure.

Lunch at the Homeplace Restaurant in Catawba VA. Best fried chicken ever. Served family style and all you want.
My 19 year old son cooked a roast chicken dinner for the very first time, it was delicious, but his presentation left a lot to be desired... but who cares, it was a lovely first :-)

Made a yummy roast in the croc-pot today, perfect for a wet, cold and rainy San Diego night. I served it over horseradish flavored mashed potatoes.

It tastes good, but I really want them to taste like the mashed potatoes I enjoyed at Cheesecake Factory two weeks ago.
