It was a pretty enough of a day. The temperature was mild. Autumn still lingered in this part of the Eastern Sierra. The coffee was hot and strong. I was listening to country music and exploring some country roads looking for photographs.

I thought this looked interesting.

The term “depth theology” was coined especially by the Jewish philosopher of religion Abraham Heschel. He used it to denote a kind of pretheological common ground of religion to which one must return in interreligious dialogue. He compared theology and depth theology in a manner reminiscent of our distinction between the act of faith (fides qua) and the content or object of faith (fides quae):

-Notes on Chapter 2, The Afternoon of Christianity The Courage to Change, Tomáš Halík

“Theology is like sculpture, depth theology is like music. Theology is in the books, depth theology is in the hearts. The former is doctrine, the latter an event. Theologies divide us; depth theology unites us.”

-Abraham Heschel, Insecurity of Freedom: Essays on Human Existence (New York: Schocken Books, 1972), 119.

The White-lined Tanager, Tachyphonus rufus, is a medium-sized passerine bird. This tanager is a resident breeder from Costa Rica south to northern Argentina, and on Trinidad and Tobago.

It occurs in semi-open areas including gardens. The bulky cup nest is built in a tree or shrub, and the female incubates three, sometimes two, brown-blotched cream eggs for 14-15 days.

Adult White-lined Tanagers are 18.5cm long and weigh 33g. They are long-tailed and with a mostly black stout pointed bill. The adult male is glossy black, apart from white underwing coverts and a small white patch on the upperwing. These white areas are conspicuous in flight but otherwise rarely visible. Females and immatures are entirely rufous in plumage, somewhat paler below.

These are restless but unwary birds which eat a wide variety of fruit, but especially epiphytes. They also take some nectar and insects, including beetles, ants and grasshoppers. They appear to be territorial, as only one nesting pair is usually seen in an area.

The White-lined Tanager’s song is a fast repetitive cheeru. Local names in Trinidad and Tobago include 'Parson' (for the male), and 'Singing Angel'; on these islands, the species is valued highly for its whistling ability.

South of downtown Nagoya in the port district is a third sector short line freight railway, the Nagoya Rinkai Railway. Opened in 1965, this line serves a number of heavy industries along the port district in Ise Bay. They handle chemical, automotive, oil, and commodities to and from Nippon Steel. Locomotive traction is utilized with a fleet of old ND552 diesel center cabs. Nearly all of the ND552's are still in use since the railway's founding.

Here ND552-8 crosses over the Tsuchiruki River with a short train of steel from the Nagoya Nippon Steel Works. They are headed for Higashicho Yard, where the train will later be transferred to JR Freight.

Shooting Tips

This lighting style has been for around for 50 years or longer… This is called back lighting… For this shoot…

I used two lamps... one directly in back of her and the other one above her head… I used a hand held LED flashlight to get the glow in her eyes…

So that’s the equipment… But this shoot is not about equipment…

Her name is Lulu… Don’t ever prejudge… this beautiful person… would make you proud… Real proud…
