The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),

oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

I only had red Ferraris on my photostream the last time, now I´m breaking the line!

Here´s a stunning, yellow Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

The one line that separates here and there.

That line that always look as a barrier for me.

Un passable – as if always between

Myself and the places I wanted

To be in.

This illusive line that is oh so

Clear and fine – almost

like an obvious thing.

And one day I'm looking and

Loo and behold – I'm over it.

I'm where I wanted to be,

But the line? Is gone.

Erased by the waves of life as

If it has never been.

Or has it ever been?

A pretty impressive line up of native Glasgow buses. Incliuded in the line up are 2 Atlanteans, 2 Ailsas, 2 AEC Regents, 4 Titans, and a couple of Daimlers. If you want to see this line up in the flesh, our Open Sundays take place on the first Sunday of each month until October. Details at www.gvvt.org

Away from the parades of GEVO's on the Class 1's in the St Louis area are some interesting shortlines. The Prairie Line has numerous switching contracts on both sides of the Mississippi River. One of the larger operations is around Arsenal Street utilizing the remaining active trackage from the Manufacturer's Railway. The InBev brewery provides a couple of different switching opportunities along with active car storage.

On this day in May 2024, multiple TPLX crews use the old Manny high line to bring cars to the River Yard after a derailment at Arsenal St blocked the normal switching lead. From here, cars would be sorted to interchange to the TRRA at Miller Yard - a short distance to the north.

I recently saw someone post some images of the interior/exterior of the Oculus in NYC and it inspired me to look back at a few of mine.

While the Oculus serves as a transport hub and center for commerce, it also stands as a stunning piece of art. Minimalist in terms of color, the design makes up for it with amazing lines. The stark white ribs lead the eye up and to the night sky in the glass opening providing for nice contrast.

The White-lined Tanager, Tachyphonus rufus, is a medium-sized passerine bird. This tanager is a resident breeder from Costa Rica south to northern Argentina, and on Trinidad and Tobago.

It occurs in semi-open areas including gardens. The bulky cup nest is built in a tree or shrub, and the female incubates three, sometimes two, brown-blotched cream eggs for 14-15 days.

Adult White-lined Tanagers are 18.5cm long and weigh 33g. They are long-tailed and with a mostly black stout pointed bill. The adult male is glossy black, apart from white underwing coverts and a small white patch on the upperwing. These white areas are conspicuous in flight but otherwise rarely visible. Females and immatures are entirely rufous in plumage, somewhat paler below.

These are restless but unwary birds which eat a wide variety of fruit, but especially epiphytes. They also take some nectar and insects, including beetles, ants and grasshoppers. They appear to be territorial, as only one nesting pair is usually seen in an area.

The White-lined Tanager’s song is a fast repetitive cheeru. Local names in Trinidad and Tobago include 'Parson' (for the male), and 'Singing Angel'; on these islands, the species is valued highly for its whistling ability.
