都電荒川線は路面電車ですが、道路を走る区間はほんのわずかです。ちょうどぼくの背後がその区間です。

From inside the the Riverfront Streetcar looking down the Line. Just as we pass the crossing street two pedestrians cross the tracks without loosing stride. The Riverfront Line does not actually run on the banks of the Mississippi, just parallel to the mighty river.

The Elizabeth line on a surprisingly quiet day. This is the first shot in a short series from a little wander from back in November.

Thanks for looking 🙏😊

Arawacus leucogyna FELDER & FELDER, 1865

(Narrow-lined Hairstreak / Tecla rayada)

Arawacus leucogyna is distributed from Belize to Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. This species is found in forest edge habitats. Males perch on the foliage of shrubs and saplings at trail intersections. Forewing: 16 mm.

There are 18 species of Arawacus, all confined to the neotropical region. All have a similar pattern of brown or black stripes radiating from the tornus of the hindwing and terminating at points along the forewing costa.

The pattern serves to divert the eye of birds away from the butterfly's head and body, and towards the 'false antennae' tails. Immediately after settling, the butterfly characteristically gyrates to face in the opposite direction and dips its head. It then slowly oscillates the hindwings, causing the tails to wiggle, which further acts to focus the observer's attention on the rear of the butterfly.

Lieren Railway Yard Netherlands

Mongolian second railway line Bayantumen - Ereentsav. This 240km's long railway is located in far-east Mongolia and the line is directly connected to the far-eastern part of Russian Railways (Trans-Manchuria railway) and Borzya city. Train traffic is lower but very interesting, twice in a week freight-passenger mixed train and some short freight train runs with an old TEM2 shunter locomotive. The line had been in Soviet time used for mainly transporting uranium from Mardai mines and was considered as a Military strategical secret railway. Now, this railway line is open and normally working since collapsing of the Soviet Union and still uses semaphores and tokens in the signalization system.
