A temporary exhibition of Valentino dresses at the Ara Pacis museum in Rome, back in 2007 (I actually never had a chance to visit the exhibition - this is taken from outside, through the a window).
I'm back!! A Newfoundland 12 day road trip complete....2918 km travelled and 45:45 hours driven. I loved it and my beautiful island but I'm also very happy to be home and getting back to our 'normal'.
Can't wait to start catching up!! Hope you all have a great week ahead!!

Think there were 17 of them though iirc from my youthful dabbling in school productions.
Another from Loughrigg, when the mist was at it's thickest.
Looking to the distant snow-clad Cheviots. Hedgehope Hill, which is prominent on the right hand edge of the shot, is around 30km from the shooting position above an old quarry (which is about 15 mins walk from our house). The snowfall came from Storm Eunice which didn't really have too much force when it reached us.

Nice to walk away from the madding crowd.... No trains either this time of the year. Beautiful views from Rocky valley station 710m on the way up to the summit of Snowdon .Unfortunately! the weather turned pretty ugly so I had to turn back at this point.

A grade II listed structure, the Tees Newport Bridge was originally constructed in 1934 and was designed to lift up to allow boats to pass through on the River Tees underneath. To celebrate its 80th birthday it recently had a repaint in its original grey and red colours, not that you may see them in this photograph as it also had a new LED lighting system installed which allows it to be lit up in an array of colours.
With all of the steel and its hulking presence it is almost reminiscent of something out of a space sci-fi movie.
As a photographer this is what appeals to me about this image: The patterns in the girders, the rainbow colours running down the sides of the uprights and the patterns the shadows make on some of the blue beams.
