Olympus E-P1 & Olympus LensCap 15/8

Took this shot of Oneonta Gorge in the midst of a nice high water runoff in January or February of 2008. Reminds me of how varied the gorge can be... swimming tourists in the summertime, snow and ice in the winter, and flooding in between.

I went out solo with hip waders, had to scramble over a treacherous 100 foot floating log jam, then balance my 25lb backpack and tripod on my head while wading against the current in chest deep water. I got to the falls only to discover that half the forest had decided to take a ride down the creek as well!

The highlight of the trip was the lenscap that decided to take a swim, never did see that one again.

(and yeah I didn't realize the lenscap was upside down, haha, looks stupid!)

P.S. I want to buy a Pancake lens! I'd love to have the Panasonic 20mm 1.7 but it's sooo expensive, I can't afford it atm :x I can buy the Olympus 17mm 2.8 secondhand from a friend though.. which I can afford! But I read that the Panasonic one is tons better.. sigh.. what to do, what to do?

Nikon D300 with a AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5~5.6G IF-ED lens and MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack/Grip attached.

Bought a M42->MD Adapter last week which arrived this week and turned out to be a M42->MA Adapter ... which oddly makes me even happier. This meant that i could finally use the Dynax 505 a customer gifted me last summer.

What a lovely combination: A 1998 Minolta Dynax 505si Super, a Helios 44-2 M42 Lens from 1970 and a Schneider-Kreuznach Lenscap from a 60s Componon 150mm Lens. Hihi :D

Illustrations from my August 2008 blog series about how cameras work.

The Konica pop is a classic plastic camera. This one in blue is from 1982. To me this point and shoot camera really puts the newer lomo cameras in the shade. I just love the design. Can also be found in lots of different colors. Came with original lenscap, pouch and wriststrap. For more info see: www.camerapedia.org/wiki/Konica_pop

Day 14 in Jules's gagrage and he's havin problems with his bubble wrap!!

Specs:

Step 1 | Tape some bublewrap over the lens and set focal length to 16mm start the white physiogram going, start the vaccines on the ipod and open the shutter let the string swing for the first 2 tracks (track ones only just over a minute!)

Step 2 | Hold lens cap over bubble wrap and turn light off on physiogram string. Remove bubble wrap, lens cap back on and gel the physiogram string orange. Change focal length to 11mm and start physiogram running and remove the lenscap. Let it swing for about another track and then cap it again.

Step 3 | Replace orange gel with a purple one, shorten the string and slightly move the camera angle. Set the string running and remove the lens cap again. Let this run for about 3/4 track then lens cap again.

Step 4 | Switch physiogram light off and move camera to look directly up. Remove lens cap and waft some blue EL wire over the lens until the track finishes. Close shutter and retreat inside for a bit of warm!!

(taken on one exposure, no additions after the exposure. I will adjust levels, saturation, white balance, brightness and some minor cropping if required.)

From last month - still haven't had time to process almost any of the photos taken during the month surrounding our move.

The Omniscope is a pinhole camera that produces anamorph images. An anamorph image is produced when the axis of the lens or pinhole is not perpendicular to the film plane. The axis of the Omniscope's pinhole is parallel to its film plane. This gives the camera a 360 degree cone shaped view. It produces very distorted panoramic images. The following image shows the lenscap removed from the camera. The lenscap is also the shutter.

Photos I took using an old Nikon F801 with 50mm f/1.8D lens, just testing the camera's functions.

The first of many photos from our Mad Men New Years Eve party, which was AWESOME and so much fun :D I barely made it through after Scott's eggnog was served, and many photos are blurry (damn you eggnog!) but what a great way to start the year--surrounded by my snappily dressed, drunk friends. :D

My very well used and very loved Nikon D70.

The Flash no longer pops up ( I taped it down and then it fell off) it has no Lcd read out on top of Camera, buts thats ok I can set most things on the menu and other things when connected to a Computer.

This Camera has never let me down and has been with me everywhere.

I use Nikkor Ais glass and guess the meter settings.

It has a Homemade lens hood which came from a Konica wide angle lens and I welded it to a filter ring to fit the nikkor.

Looks a bit like a Leica lens hood?

[July 22nd, 2012]

After 12 long and challenging exams, a fun and exciting part in my theatre groups production of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat', a slip in routine, a nice but brief holiday with 3 of my friends to Mablethorpe and a new creation of healthy lifestyle and exercise routines, I'm finally back! Fully inspired, completely raring to go with this new 365 that hopefully for once in my life I'll stick to! I'm on a weight loss (more of a lifestyle/toning) mission and I've never been as happy as I am now!
