First photo for Project 365. This is my camera lens cap and the bag I use to carry my camera around. The bag came with my projector and it works well enough for now :)

Week one . Playing with the 50mm 1.8 lens. I hoping to do a good shot a week for 2011. It's time to try something other than nature shots.
One of tasks was to show DOF. These shots are from opposite sides of the same bench, first one at f/1.8 and the second at f/22. The shoes belong to fmgbain trying the same thing from the other side.
A LensCap Rally at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria. The LensCap Rally is a day out with a Professional Photographer. There are set tasks and afterwards you can upload your photos to the site and have everyone comment on them. Its a great way to get out for the day, shoot loads of pics at interesting locations and meet other photo-mad people.
Argh, if the stinking lens cap wasn't in the way, this would have been great. I ended up with this next frame instead, which isn't quite as good.
I searched for an "almost a great photo" group, but can't seem to find one. Maybe I should start one!?!
I bought a Canon Powershot Sx40 Bridge camera from Ebay for £100 including postage.
I wanted something that I could carry with me on my dog walks that could shoot both macro and zoom. This is a very old camera but a bit of a bargain.
It came with three batteries, two filters and a bag. The bag alone is £30 new, so it really was a proper bargain.
I've only just taken a few hundred shots with it. It's just as I expected, has good range and is "OK to Very Good" in good daylight. Awful at night and high ISO.
I'll reserve verdict on how much I use it after a month. For now it's fun to play with something different. My first bridge camera
