- Ultra wide Fixed aperture 18mm f8, No accidentally moving the focusing ring or Aperture ring

- Ultra thin lens cap compliment fp's minimalist design

- Compliment Sigma fp minimalism and making the full frame camera truly pocketable

[Bad]

• No aperture No Bokeh No Sunstars

Seen at Chudleigh Knighton in Devon.

The Strokkur Geysir at Thingvellir National Park. This is very active & goes off every 5 – 10 minutes. I was very lucky to get such a clean image with no obvious crowds in the background. This is down to the weather. If you were to stand downwind you would be sure of a soaking, you would also have to slide your way over a very slippery frozen path.

On Saturday, I got a brand new Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM. This is an uncropped capture of its lens-cap at 1:1. Unfortunately it was raining all Sunday long, so I haven't got much to show. During the week, I'll try to filter through the shots I took during rain breaks and post the most note-worthy, even when taken at iso:1600.

Any good noise removing software to recomend? :-)

Freshly primed. The final top coat of color is only days away... I think. The original 1955 metal lens cap is nearing completion and received a good final coat of primer.

Thanks, Chris

I just got my camera back from a servicing job by Canon. Initially, they told me it would take up to six working days to fix the problem of a broken shutter, but I got it back in two days. :)

This shot was taken sometime back though.

This is Stephen Oachs

flickr.com/photos/stephenoachs/2132192392/

I met up with Stephen a little over a month ago, in Lower Antelope Canyon. He seemed like a nice guy. He let me use a tumbleweed that he brought in with him as a prop, so I let him borrow my new Canon, fisheye lens to take a shot. Well, a couple hours later, I started looking all through my bag for my lenscap. It's gone. I thought, 'Damn... Did he stick my lenscap in his pocket?' Well, luckily, we had exchanged business cards. I was embarrassed to contact him and accuse him of stealing it. Luckily, he emailed me, and said he had it. Well, being on my whirlwind tour of the southwest, I had no address to mail it to. When he saw I was in Yosemite, he decided to take a drive out there and meet up. So here they are. Reunited at long last. My fisheye lens, and it's beloved lenscap.

I hereby resolve to not misplace my lens cover more than once per month in 2012.

Resolution #2: I hereby resolve to clean my props from this moment on before shooting in 2012.

Original cap made in 1955 out of very basic and very thin metal. Lots of corrosion so it became a perfect candidate for a make-over. Here it is after a light sanding with 600 grit wet or dry sandpaper and a Scotch-Brite pad buffing. Ready for the first primer coat. For more about this restoration and almost everything about Yashica, please visit my blog at www.yashicasailorboy.com

Thanks, Chris

I've recently been shooting with this Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I put together from bits I won on eBay. The body, lens, lens cap and film were all bought separately (cost in notes on pic) and it works great and is pretty solid.

Released in 1985, cost around $400.

Ok so after some messing around, some modifying and more messing around I have my Camera rotation tool acting a little more like it should, I managed to create this while experimenting last night.

Points for guessing what it is.

In this shot there were 9 camera rotations. capped between each rotation and lit for 2 seconds on each stop with my iPhone.

Tried another version with the full 18 rotations but liked this one much better.

Enjoy and expect to see more CRT soon.

These were taken with a very cheap 32mm f10 "Focus Free" lens I bought with some other stuff from AliExpress. It appears to be a lens from a disposable film camera remounted into a plastic baseplate that's molded into various mounts. Mine is a (rough approximation of) Leica M- mount. This time it was mounted on an M43 Olympus E-PL1, wich only uses the central portion of the lens. Interesting vibe, and handy as a lenscap lens.

I'm pretty sure I'm in love with my new 35mm f/1.8 lens. How did I ever live without it?

The range of cameras shooting the point of interest were all over the map.

As of now my 50 MM is still being shipped over, i guess the Ebay dude literally is "shipping" the lens through sea, its taking ages for it to float all the way from Hong Kong to Chennai. In the meanwhile my fav play toy is the 100 MM Macro Lens. I think its worth every damn rupee spent even though it was so expensive to buy it. The results it produces is absolutely fantastic. This is my first shot with the Macro Lens. What you see here is nothing but the Lens cap of the 100MM Macro that i shot for testing purposes at the shop where i purchased the lens. I'm fascinated by the DoF and the focus sharpness it produces. Impressive, thats not the word for this.

After an afternoon of hiking around Thirlmere and up to Blea Tarn, I was disappointed by the poor light so I decided to drive to Buttermere for sunset, but had no luck here either. I just couldn't find my shot. I called it a day and packed up. On my drive home, the sky suddenly burst in to life, but I knew it would be over as fast as it came. As luck would have it I was driving past Derwent Water. I had just enough time to pull over, dig out the camera and get one good exposure. I can see a pattern developing here, I am always writing the day off before getting a last minute, unplanned capture. Hmmm...

1) make 1-5mm hole to a lenscap.

2) tape foil behind the hole.

3) make a hole with a tip of pin to the foil.

4) shoot at high iso.
