This afternoon I was in my kitchen at home and I glanced out the back door, and this Cooper's hawk was on the back wall. Resident of a nearby pocket park, I have gone to visit this bird there numerous times, and it was nice that today it returned the favor (unintentionally).

Still need cabinet handles for another layer of color and panels installed on refrigerator (which are waiting for handles). Then finish the crown across the top of the refrigerator
The Old Joburg General Hospital has fallen into a state of disuse and disrepair over the past years - Its now been changed into the Hillbrow Health Precinct - a multi-billion Rand project which will hopefully serve as a ripple-pond for urban regeneration in Hillbrow. Joburg Photowalkers visited the precinct en masse yesterday.

I just found this photo on a webpage I made ages ago for the little white hen that I have in my window. I must have lost it off my computer, because I don't even remember seeing it.

The kitchen was cleaned from the oil that was all over the furniture, the hydraylics were also restored as well as the hinges.
This kitchen cabinetry was created with the Bridgeport door style in Oak finished in Peppercorn with Nickel glaze.

These were in the house when we moved in. The dishwasher wasn't even attached to the water. It was just shoved in the space to make it seem it was installed. Fortunately we found someone local who came very quickly and fixed this for us. We were ever so grateful! Both appliances work well.
I picked up this catch pot from Paxton Gate, a really cool housewares and curio shop in San Francisco's Mission district. I don't actually cook with this basil, it is an all-natural, food-safe way of keeping flies away.
