I think I was on private land at this point, though I saw no signs. Just as I was leaving, I did see a hunter, so my blaze orange decision was a good one!
Coyote Hunting near Albion, Michigan. Using a Browning X Bolt in 300 win mag. Long range shots required out here.
And in case you were wondering, yes they're in season, and no you don't need to wear orange :-)

Woke up way before my alarm this morning so I decided to run around while Cara was at work. There were 3 trains I wanted to find and shoot, the rest were just bonuses...
Waterfoul hunting may be prohibited from Highway 30, but train hunting sure isn't. The third train I wanted to shoot had another SD60, this time the way God intended: on a coal train. I would have chased this sucker all the way to Sioux City if it was leading... I'd hit it here and leave for O/CB action instead.

At dusk these Ring-billed Gulls were flying low and fast above our neighbourhood trying to catch flying insects that were invisible to us. They have amazing eye sight..

A thrush.
It's either a song or mistle thrush, I'm not great at identifying birds :)
It doesn't really show in this photo, but there's a rather large bug in the thrush's mouth, possibly a grasshopper.
They're can often be seen in the fields nearby hunting for bugs.
