A terrific battle between two great players. One hopes this isn't the last time we see Andy Roddick.

Cabela's Outfitters in Glendale, AZ. You know you've left California when the outfitter store's hunting section takes up half the store.

Heris Serrano is making the best of a bad situation. Forced to resign her commission in the Regular Space Service, she goes to work as captain of an elderly lady's private yacht. That's a definite "come down" in the universe, for this woman whose family habitually produces admirals. Heris still has her professionalism, though. She's determined to bring the Sweet Delight and its crew up to standard. When that determination saves the yacht's owner and her guests - not to mention the crew, of course - from dying during their first passage together, she and Lady Cecelia discover that a champion horsewoman and an RSS captain have more in common than either might have thought. That establishes trust between them which they're going to need, once they reach the private estate (an entire planet!) where Lady Cecelia's bound. Where there's something going on that the owner of Siralis knows nothing about, which has everything to do with Heris Serrano and her former Space Service crew. This is a gem of a book. We come to know Heris Serrano, Lady Cecelia, and the many secondary (I can't call them minor) characters by experiencing their lives with them. That's also how we become acquainted with their far-future part of the universe - its politics, technology, economy, and culture. The story gains complexity gradually, and we get backstory exactly when we need it. The characters learn, grow, and change, and - with the possible exception of the tale's villian - they are multi-dimensional people. Including the apparently quintessential "eccentric maiden aunt" Cecelia. Highly recommended! For More 5 Star Reviews Hunting Party by Elizabeth Moon

There’s a beautiful stretch of beach nearly a mile long at the north end of Hunting Island near the lighthouse that’s referred to as ‘the boneyard’. It’s home to hundreds of dead ghost trees that have been killed by the saltwater that’s constantly moving in from the loss of beach due to erosion…and it’s quite the sight to see.

Best friends elk hunting in Colorado. The story behind this picture was we had a 12 pack of beer in a tent bag hanging in the creek by camp. We came back from a long hunting day and noticed the beer was gone. So I didnt think they went far fallowing the creek I found several beers lodged in rocks and beached on sand bars. So one of the guys{hero} said he would sacrifice his snow boots for the beers we could find well he retrived 10 and that is when we noticed the deer half eatin go in my photos and you will find it. Victor was the hero of the day...

Mostly-restored beautful old cabin from the late 1890's (I think).

I was giving my "new" Minolta AF85 F1.4 a workout this past Saturday when this guy flew right at me. This is NOT a lens I would have chosen for this type of shot - but the old girl performed amazing well for a 25 year old lens!! In fact, this may be my favourite in-flight bird shot. Needless to say - I love the lens! Its at F5 here... I have taken hundreds of seagull shots, but this one tops the pile. :)

This is the edge of the roof of the hunting lodge-slash-coach house that stands next to the road. Its roof is partly caved in, it's in much worse shape than the castle itself.
