This is the lens removed from the lens mount and tube. The tube, when installed, is recessed inside the body. The lens is inserted through the back, and the ring in the lower left corner holds the lens in place. There is a similar ring glued inside the tube to keep the lens from falling out the front.
The copy lens has f stops from 4.5 to 16, which are selected by turning a ring around the middle. Unfortunately I can't get to this ring without removing the lens from the tube. This means I have to focus at whatever f stop I've selected. I could conceivably do this from the back of the camera when the focusing screen is removed, but I'd risk messing up the focus. In my test however, f8 was plenty bright. We'll see if this is a problem or not.
Here is my rendition of a homemade Oreo -- of course i had to change it up a bit and use one of my favorite flavors -- mint!
I ate this one after drizzling some fudge over it -- so heavenly!

A certain little idiot, I mean, a very clever dog we all know has made himself a homemade poncho by chewing a hole in his nice blanket to stick his crazy little head through while he sleeps next to the radiator.
the casings split on this one pretty badly, but it was getting chopped up for hobo dinners so no one cared.
There is no better way to relax after a fortnight of hard work... A homemade 25-person bathtub heated by a built-in wood furnace.
Closeup of my eye with a dollar store webcam. Simply crack a webcam open and pop off the IR filter. You can add a visible light filter with two overlapped pieces of developed film - the black bits.
I immediately wanted to try this recipe when it was shown on Attic 24's blog, how to make your own lemon drinks. This was enough to fill an old bottle of you guessed it.. Lemonade! Loved the way it seals at the top, so I had to buy the bottle. I keep the concentrate in the fridge and use a splash in my hot tea or if I want lemonade, can add a splash to club soda or plain old tap water. If you'll notice, to the right, in the tupperware, there is Chai tea mix inside. Also a homemade recipe that I found on Hello Yarn's flickr page!
Homemade crust, thinly sliced tomatoes and a bit of tomato sauce, sliced Gouda cheese, and then thinly sliced onions and black trumpet mushrooms sauteed cooked quickly at a super-hot oven on a stone.
Mrs. Wirehead was not so keen about my experimenting with the cheese.
All the better Large and Dark.
I've been away on holiday for a couple of weeks and had a grand time - I thought I'd mark my return to Flickr with a picture which has been lingering in my 'to be uploaded one day' pile.
The title refers to two excellent fellow Flickrites, Homemade and Beechlights - the location of London Wall / South Barbican being a favourite of Beechlights and the DoF style being one which Homemade carries off extremely well. If you have the time I'd highly recommend a visit to both photostreams.
So a short description for a change as I have a mass to catch up on following time away and a raft of photostreams to visit. I'll be dropping into folk as soon as I can - in the meantime...
...enjoy
Another batch of homemade donuts. This time I didn't fry them but used a yeast batter to bake just how you would to a normal bread. Turned out salty however. Will make another trial in the future.
3 cups all purpose flour (or half all purpose and half whole wheat)
1 tsp. sea salt
3 tblsp. heavy cream
1/4 cup olive oil
3/4 cups warm water
Put all ingredients into a food processor and process just until it forms into a ball.
Preheat oven to 425.
Divide the dough into 4 balls and roll out on a slightly oiled surface - as thinly as you can.
Place dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly brush with water and sprinkle on anything you like - salt, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, etc.
Cut into squares with pizza cutter and prick with a fork.
Bake for 12 minutes, turning at the 6 minute mark.
(You can also add any flavouring like onion or garlic powder)

Nothing quite like homemade bread. Takes about 5 minutes of work and a bit of waiting. Tastes like nothing you can buy. :)

I'd just like to say that I don't usually like blueberries. I made this sauce specifically for slathering all over homemade blintzes for Easter brunch. I might now be sold on blueberries after all. This is so good! But how could it not be? Blueberries simmered in orange juice, with a vanilla pod, sugar, lemon juice and zest. Amazing.
