Desperation! Once again I am not sure...Vive9 or my good oThe Body Co? I am not sure about the slightly yellowish tint. In both cases I used the same make ups. Forgive the not so perfectly matched ears. ;)

Kathakali Backstage | Bangalore | India | Aug | 2009
Kathakali is a highly stylised classical dance form of India. It has originated in Kerala and is noted for its attractive make-up of characters, their elaborate costumes, detailed gestures and well-defined body movements presented in tune with the anchor playback music and complementary percussion.
The make up is extremely tedious and takes hours to get done. Mirrors, colors & the art of makeup all makes it an attractive subject.
This recital was organised at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram, Bangalore. Thanks to my fellow friend @k@sh for his info about the show which made the shoot possible.

Not just anybody!
I saw this in an alley walking around Amsterdam. I absolutely am in love with this city.
Here’s my Star Trek Uhura doll from @elizabethplaid with a slight restyle and redressed in a Fashionista dress. I had to remove the weird sponge in her hair but a quick boil wash helped her look look a bit more tamed.
I do wish Mattel would make more fashions older women could wear cuz I really love Uhura’s sculpt but she looks really mature for a lot of my doll clothes heh.
the past months i've been through hell and back, but everything happens for a reason and even traveling through hell has it's purpose.
"Mamaaaaa! She's looking at us! Make her stop!"
I was walking along a path and heard an odd little "buzzing" noise. At first, I thought it was a house wren, but the rest of the house wren's song didn't come after the buzz, and I knew then that it had to be someone's nestlings. I listened carefully and located the source of the noise, in the woods beyond some blackberry thorns. I thought at first that they were tufted titmouse babies, but the extremely agitated black-capped chickadee gave away their true identity. It was difficult to photograph them because they were in a relatively deep, narrow hole, but I counted either five or six tiny, adorable nestlings. I didn't stay long; the poor little mama bird was obviously very worried about her babies and wanted me to leave them alone, so I did as soon as I'd got one reasonable photo. <3

To help young people create interactive art, Pataphysical Studios taught a workshop on how to make your own ‘ art wonderbox.’ Our goal was to help kids create a cool experience with lights, motion and sounds, using simple electronic parts.
To that end, we invited 12 kids (ages 8 to 12) and their parents to this free workshop at the Mill Valley Library:
pataphysics.us/make-your-own-wonderbox/
This two-hour workshop took place on Saturday, October 17 at 2pm. In the course of two hours, we guided students through these tasks:
bit.ly/wonderbox-instructions-1
Instructors for this workshop were Fabrice Florin, Jean Bolte and Natalie Frederick, with support from Antonia Souza and Freddy Hahne. They are all members of Pataphysical Studios, the art collective behind the ‘Pataphysical Slot Machine’, our poetic oracle.
Come visit the exhibit this month! We’re open every Saturday and Sunday in October, from 1 to 5pm, in the downstairs conference room of the Mill Valley Library.
Special thanks to the Mill Valley Library and the Friends of the Library for making these workshops possible.

Our Lady Help of Christians RC at Kitt's Green, in the Tile Cross area of Birmingham is a stunning late 1960s Catholic church by Richard Gilbert Scott and very inventive, on a T-shaped plan with a ribbed roof that curve upwards, rising to form a central tower over the core of the building. Not everyone will find this attractive, but I actually find it all the more remarkable for it.
Copious quantities of stained glass is visible in the windows and weirdly shaped apertures, but alas I was out of luck as it was all locked up. There was a notice directing people wishing access to the church to the priest's house behind it, but I could tell my efforts were in vain as my appeal to look inside was met with a puzzled frown and a suggestion that I come back for mass the following morning. He was perhaps busy which is fair enough, but for me living nearly 20 miles away returning wasn't so simple.
I wasn't overly keen on looking around after a service, the timings didn't suit my trains and it would be likely busy, so when I saw 'confessions' listed 11-12 Saturday mornings thought that might be a better bet. Turned up to find the church was open but with a few people (inc. the priest I'd met before, who I didn't think would be overly keen to see me loitering again) sitting or kneeling quietly inside, I realised it was now exposition of the Blessed Sacrament instead. A very awkward time to look around, I'd have to content myself with quietly keeping out of the way in the chapels at the back and get some pics of their windows at least, but this wasn't enough for one member of the flock who noticed me and glared in a 'How dare you enter our church!' kind of way! I retreated out of sight into the baptistery to sit and look at a fine abstract window, but he decided to come and stand staring aggressively opposite me and clearly wanted to start something, but the atmosphere of awed silence prevented this and he left, but he'd made his point, I knew I was not welcome in this church.
I left shortly afterwards myself feeling frustrated (for the second time, not having been able to view or record the full interior) and deeply uncomfortable. I was hoping to bump meet my would-be assailant outside, having mentally prepared some suitable Biblical quotes about Christian behaviour since he displayed so little of it, but it was most likely just an all too common case of being judged guilty of whatever before proven innocent.
So to summarise, this is one of the most remarkable modern church buildings I've seen, but from my experiences also just about the most unwelcoming I've ever visited. I'm sure, with hindsight, staying after a mass would have been a far better choice after all, reception might have been different (certainly couldn't be worse).
Masuleh About this sound pronunciation (help·info) (Persian: ماسوله, also Romanized as Māsūleh and Massulya)[1] is a city in and the capital of Sardar-e Jangal District, in Fuman County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 554 individuals from 180 families.[2]
Historical names for the city include Māsalar and Khortāb. It was founded in the 10th century AD.
Masuleh is approximately 60 km southwest of Rasht and 32 km west of Fuman. The village is 1,050 meters above sea level in the Alborz (or Elburz) mountain range, near the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. The village itself has a difference in elevation of 100 meters.
What's the worst that can happen? It's probably not as bad as you think.
Insecurity kills more dreams than lack of talent does. Believing things like "I'll never get promoted," or, "I can't compete with her" will turn self-doubt into a self-fulfilling prophecy. All of us feel self-doubt sometimes, no matter how confident we are. But, mentally strong people don't let self-doubt prevent them from reaching their goals. Here's how to keep self-doubt from holding you back.
1. Embrace (a little) self-doubt.
Don't worry about a little bit of self-doubt: Slight insecurity could actually bolster your performance. A 2010 study published in Psychology of Sport and Exercise found that individuals who experienced a little self-doubt actually performed better compared with people who were completely confident in their skills. Other studies have found similar results.
So rather than waste energy worrying that your self-doubt is actually a sign from the universe that you're about to fail, recognize that self-doubt can be helpful. Perhaps you'll spend more time rehearsing or put in more effort when you're aware that there's a chance it might not go so smoothly.
2. Question the evidence behind your thoughts.
When you encounter serious self-doubt, examine the truth behind it. Ask yourself, "What evidence do I have that I can't do this?" Then ask, "What evidence do I have that I can do this?" Go ahead and write down your answers on a piece of a paper.
Looking at the facts can help you see things in a more realistic way. This exercise may not eliminate all of your self-doubt, but it can help reduce your insecurities to a more manageable level.
3. Consider the worst-case scenario.
Self-doubt is fueled by catastrophic predictions: "I'm going to mess everything up." "I'll never get another chance." When you find yourself guessing things will go poorly, ask, "What's really the worst thing that could happen?" If you do make a mistake, would it really be that bad?
Remind yourself that even if things go terribly, it's unlikely truly to be life altering. A few years from now, losing a game, stumbling over your lines, or failing to get a promotion probably won't matter that much. Keeping things in proper perspective can help you calm your nerves.
4. Monitor your emotions.
Your emotions play a major role in how you think and behave. Anxious feelings can fuel doubtful thoughts and impair your performance, unless you take steps to regulate your emotions.
Pay attention to how your emotions influence your choices. If your anxiety skyrockets, calm your body and your mind by taking deep breaths, going for a walk, or distracting yourself with mundane tasks. Don't allow short-term discomfort to convince you to bail out, give up, or cave in.
5. Focus on your present performance.
Whether you're stepping on a stage or running out onto an athletic field, telling yourself, "I'm going to embarrass myself" will only distract you from your performance. Rather than allow your inner monologue to drag you down, stay focused on the present.
Before you take the giant leap into whatever you're feeling doubtful about, give yourself a quick pep talk. Saying "All I can do is my best" will remind you that you don't need to strive for perfection. With that reminder in mind, you'll be better equipped to put your energy where it needs to be—on your performance.

The Shrine of Mary Help ¨ ¨ erected as a parish by Bishop Dario Miranda, in 1969, looks splendid and a sense of praise, the supernatural and the divine, with its pointed arches, rose windows, minarets and ribs, stained glass, combined with the mole vast central nave produced the characteristic movement of the Gothic style of S. XIX. Mary Help ¨ ¨, initial work of the Salesians in Mexico, is no stranger to the historical moment of the revolution that gripped the country and let people feel the brunt of instability, persecution, invasion, expropriation of property, expulsion and deportation of priests foreign Salesians and their construction made a slow but sure. Today the neo-Gothic parish as a national monument of artistic style, facing the ravages of climate, weather and adversity, causing the breakdown of some moldings of the facade and towers pose a risk to the community so that for remodeling work done with permits.
