On the morning that I was getting ready to leave my hotel and head home, I stepped out on the patio and grabbed this shot. After I looked at it for a while, I almost feel like it would be a pretty good shot without the boats.

..lol..I love you guys..;) So, no, I've never owned goats. When I was 5 the people next door to us had goats and I use to ride them..;) Anyway, I just remember goats being fun. Probably wouldn't be as much fun now. I just has a little nostalgic moment. And, no, I don't have anyplace to keep them.

Since it looks like we're in this virus thing for the long haul, I got 3 new pairs of sweat pants..:)

Edificio cuyo origen se sitúa en la catástrofe que padeció la ciudad con el embarrancamiento del petrolero Mar Egeo en diciembre de 1992. En aquella ocasión, el buque se aventuró a adentrarse en la bahía coruñesa en medio de un tremendo temporal. El desconocimiento del puerto por parte del capitán y las malas condiciones atmosféricas le hicieron creer que los muelles se encontraban en la ensenada del Orzán, por lo que en un principio tomó ese rumbo. Cuando se percató de su error, trató de tomar la dirección correcta, pero el oleaje arrastró al barco contra los bajos situados al pie de la Torre de Hércules, donde acabó por hundirse al día siguiente tras una explosión en sus tanques.

Las autoridades decidieron posteriormente que un puerto como A Coruña precisaba de una torre desde la que se controlase el tráfico marítimo con el fin de evitar nuevos desastres, proyecto que se puso en marcha con un presupuesto de 3,6 millones de euros y que culminó en mayo de 1995, fecha en la que el edificio fue inaugurado.

La construcción de la torre supuso una novedad tecnológica en la ciudad, puesto que sus dos columnas de hormigón, con 81 metros de altura, fueron levantadas mediante el sistema de encofrado deslizante, que hizo preciso el trabajo de forma ininterrumpida durante 24 días. Desde su conclusión, la torre se convirtió en una de las imágenes más representativas de A Coruña, tanto por el lugar sobre el que se alza como por la peculiaridad de su diseño.
