I recently got hold of one of those weird cameras, popular about 20 years ago, that take 4-half-frame images simultaneously. The film, when developed can either be printed into stereo pairs, or into lenticular 'holograms' for 3D viewing. Anyway, it failed spectacularly and ruined the film I had in it, so I decided to do some manual setero shots with my Nikon. There isn't anything terribly tricky about this when you are photographing things that stay still.
I decided to process them all as cross-eye stereo pairs and as red-cyan anaglyphs (so you can see tham with 3d glasses). Each method has its advatages
Cross-eye: not everyone can do it, and it may give you a headache. Also, because you need to display two images, you can't see them as big on the screen
Anaglyph: you need glasses, and the colours aren't as good because of the processing, but you do get to see them huge, and you can zoom in (these are large images)
If you need help with cross-eye, read this:
Looking to Garry's picture you have a look into the "Neues Museum". Looking at this picture you can see what's happens outside of the museum. What is more interessting? Curious onlooker prefer to see what is happening outside. A sports car driver overlooked a stair with two steps. That's life, what a misfortune.

Help Chile Overcome the Earthquake
Chile stepped up efforts to find survivors of an earthquake registering 8.8 magnitude that struck before dawn yesterday, killing more than 700 people, severing the country’s main highway and damaging 1.5 million homes.
The eartquake was centered 200 miles (317 kilometers) southwest of Santiago near the main winemaking region and close to Concepcion, a metropolitan region of more than 500,000 people. Highways and airports were shut by damage and some copper mines closed. The total economic damage may be as much as $30 billion, or about 15 percent of the South American country’s gross domestic product, according to estimates by disaster- scenario modeler Eqecat Inc.
We need your help to overcome the earthquake.

LUMBINI NEPAL
Lumbinī (Nepali and Sanskrit: लुम्बिनी listen (help•info), "the lovely") is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BCE.[1][2] Gautama, who achieved Enlightenment some time around 528 BCE,[3][4] became the Buddha and founded Buddhism.[5][6][7]Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha.
Lumbini has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi Temple and several others which are still under repair. Many monuments, monasteries and a museum, the Lumbini International Research Institute, are also within the holy site. Also there is the Puskarini, or Holy Pond, where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he had his first bath. At other sites near Lumbini, earlier Buddhas were, according to tradition, born, then achieved ultimate Enlightenment and finally relinquished their earthly forms
In the Buddha's time, Lumbini was situated in east of Kapilavastu and southwest Devadaha of Shakya kingdom of Nepal.[8][9] It was there, that the Buddha was born.[10] A pillar discovered in 1896 (and erected thereafter at Rummindei) is believed to mark the spot of Ashoka's visit to Lumbini. The site was not known as Lumbini before the pillar was discovered.[11] According to an inscription on the pillar, it was placed there by the people then in charge of the park to commemorate Ashoka's visit and gifts.[12] The park was previously known as Rummindei, 2 mi (2 mi (3.2 km)) north of Bhagavanpura.
The Sutta Nipáta (vs. 683) states that the Buddha was born in a village of the Sákyans in the Lumbineyya Janapada. The Buddha stayed in Lumbinívana during his visit to Devadaha and there preached the Devadaha Sutta.
In 1896, Nepalese archaeologists (led by Khadga Samsher Rana and assisted by Alois Anton Führer) discovered a great stone pillar at Lumbini, according to the crucial historical records made by the ancient Chinese monk-pilgrim Xuanzang in the 7th century CE. Führer postulated that the pillar was placed at the site by Ashoka (emperor of the Maurya Empire) circa 245 BCE. Records made by another ancient Chinese monk-pilgrim Faxian in the early 5th century CE, were also used in the process of identifying this religiously acclaimed site.
Recent excavations beneath existing brick structures at the Mayadevi Temple at Lumbini have uncovered evidence for an older timber structure beneath the walls of the newer brick Buddhist shrine, which was constructed during the Ashokan era. The layout of the Ashokan shrine closely follows that of the earlier timber structure, which suggests a continuity of worship at the site. The pre-Mauryan timber structure appears to be an ancient bodhigara (tree shrine), consisting of postholes and a wooden railing surrounding a clay floor containing mineralized tree roots that appears to have been worn smooth by visitors. Radiocarbon dating of charcoal from the wooden postholes and optically stimulated luminescence dating of elements in the soil suggests human activity (possibly pre-Buddhist tree worship) began at the site around 1000 BCE, followed by the development of a Buddhist monastery-like community by approximately 550 BCE
Lumbini is 4.8 km (3 mi) in length and 1.6 km (1.0 mi) in width. The holy site of Lumbini is bordered by a large monastic zone in which only monasteries can be built, no shops, hotels or restaurants. It is separated into an eastern and western monastic zone, the eastern having the Theravadin monasteries, the western having Mahayanaand Vajrayana monasteries.
The holy site of Lumbini has ruins of ancient monasteries, a sacred Bodhi tree, an ancient bathing pond, the Ashokan pillar and the Mayadevi Temple, where the supposed place of birth of Buddha is located. From early morning to early evening, pilgrims from various countries perform chanting and meditation at the site.
A non-governmental organization named Samriddhi Foundation started in 2013 working extensively in the field of education and health specially in government schools of the area where underprivileged children study. A non-governmental organisation called "Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation" (APECF) backed by chairman of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist)and then Prime Minister Prachanda, the Chinese government and a UN group called "United Nations Industrial Development Organization" (UNIDO) signed a deal to develop Lumbini into a "special development zone" with funds worth $3 billion.[15] The venture was a China-UN joint project. A broader 'Lumbini Development National Director Committee' under the leadership of Pushpa Kamal Dahal was formed on 17 October 2011.[16] The six-member committee included Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) leader Mangal Siddhi Manandhar, Nepali Congress leader Minendra Rijal, Forest Minister Mohammad Wakil Musalman, among other leaders. The committee was given the authority to "draft a master plan to develop Lumbini as a peaceful and tourism area and table the proposal" and the responsibility to gather international support for the same.

HELP!!! Your advice greatly appreciated:
This side of the house always suffers major snow and ice accumulation on the roof and gutter. Despite having a new roof and 8 feet of ice guard underlay, water manages to work it’s way into the house. Any advice on how I can stop this?
Peeking in the attic, I did notice one roof leak about 10 – 12 inches from the bottom edge. I don’t know if the water is backing up under the ice guard. I suspect it is. Tomorrow I go out with a hatchet and start hacking off ice. I am ready for spring – LOL!

This past weekend, I helped put on Terre Haute's first ever Help Portrait event at Lighthouse Mission. Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists using their time, tools and expertise to give back to those in need. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing people's story and watching their reaction as they saw their picture.
When we first arrived at the shelter to set-up our photo equipment, I bumped into Jeffery who finished doing his shelter duties in the morning. He had a long beard, dirty clothes, and messy hair. I invited him to get his free picture at our event and told him about how we can give him a portrait for free! His eyes lit up and quickly ran upstairs where he was staying. The next time I saw him was when he asked me to take his picture. His beard was gone, he was wearing a suit, and his hair nicely combed. He said to me with a grin on his face, "Remember me?". After I took his picture, I showed him the results. His eyes lit up again and was excited to see how well it turned out. He told me that he loved to get dressed up and hadn't done so in a while. Help-Portrait was the first time in a long time where he can dress up and look nice. He later started showing his picture to other people around the shelter convincing them to get their pictures taken.
The church Mary Help/Rescue (Mariahilfkirche) in the Styrian capital of Graz is a pilgrimage church and parish church of the parish Graz-Mariahilf in the deanery Graz-Center of the church administration Stadtkirche Graz. Attached to the church is the Minorite convent Graz.
History and design
In the 13th century settled monks of founded by St. Francis of Assisi Order of Minors in Graz at the place of today's Franciscan monastery, to which they had to cede in 1515 the square. After having spent many years provisionally, they were finally able after a donation by the princes of Eggenberg and Emperor Ferdinand II to settle at today's Mariahilf sqaure (now Lend district). The built in 1607 in Baroque style church, designed by Giovanni Pietro de Pomis, a pupil of Tintoretto, was completed in 1611. He built a towerless church according to Venetian models, which was closed towards the top with a triangular pediment in the manner of classical temple fronts. Through a conversion to plans by Josef Hueber the Church 1742-1744 received its present form with the two towers. Since 1783, the church serves as a parish church.
The gable above the church portal crowns today a Baroque statue of Archangel Michael which abuts Lucifer to hell. The other figures of the portal laterally above the middle door are the religious saints Francis of Assisi and Anthony of Padua and above the door the Virgin Mary.
The interior of the church looks plain and sober. The large dome over the presbytery was as well as the stucco decoration in 1769 removed. The thereafter by Josef Adam Molk created frescoes have also been removed (after not quite 100 years) and gave way to today's simple design. The image of the Virgin Mary on the high altar is considered a painterly masterpiece of Pietro de Pomis.
The sacristy, built 1636/37, has rich stucco ornaments (Johann Cajetan Androy attributed) and pews of the Regency style, at the sacristy is also located the chapel Bonaventurakapelle (Baptistery of St. Bonaventura, Triebenegg'sche crypt chapel), built from 1635 to 1640, with stucco in auricular style of Mathias Camin, Master of Mariazell, and a high Baroque altar in scagliola.
South of the church is the cloister of the Minorite monastery, which is followed by the treasury chapel. This one was created 1769-71 to accommodate votive offerings of pilgrims, but none of which have survived. It shows itself consistently late Baroque, the facilities, especially the altarpiece, is from the period of origin, walls and vault lunette caps adorn miracle scenes in tone-in-tone painting by Joseph Adam Knight of Mölk (1773)
Through another courtyard one accesses via a representative staircase the former summer refectory (the Minoritensaal), one of the most beautiful secular Baroque rooms in Graz.
Current use
To date, the monastery premises are inhabited by Friars Minor. The monastery houses also the Cultural Center with the Minorites, in which take place events in the fields of music, literature and visual arts.
In addition take place in the treasury chapel of the monastery services of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, a Rome-united church, and the Russian Orthodox church of Mary Protection in Graz as an ecumenical accommodation.
Interior and exterior of Mariahilferkirche in recent years have been skilfully restored.
