Exposição de Bonsais
Ocorreu com todo êxito mais uma Exposição de Bonsais realizada na Praça de Ciências em Vitória.
Estiveram expondo mais de 15 Bonsaístas de várias Regiões do Estado e o Público adepto desta Arte ou "Não" esteve presente; sendo este, o fator mais importante do Evento.
Foram mais de 50 bonsais expostos que demonstravam as Formas, Fases de Desenvolvimento e Espécies de Bonsais.
Durante o Evento (das 14 às 18 horas) foram feitas várias demonstrações de técnicas de como se preparar, cuidar e manter um Bonsai.
O próximo evento deverá ocorrer em Abril/2014 na Cidade de Linhares e oportunamente o Bonsai Clube Capixaba - BCC estará, através das Redes Sociais, divulgando o Local, Data e Hora da próxima Exposição.

Alcalá de los Gazules es una ciudad de la provincia de Cádiz, Andalucía, España.
En las estribaciones finales de la sierra de Cádiz, formando parte de lo que se denomina la Ruta del Toro. Los municipios más próximos son Jerez de la Frontera, Los Barrios, Jimena de la Frontera, Castellar de la Frontera, San José del Valle, Benalup-Casas Viejas, Medina-Sidonia, Paterna de Rivera y Cortes de la Frontera(este último ya en la provincia de Málaga). Es conjunto histórico-artístico desde el año 1984.
Se encuentra dentro del Parque Natural de Los Alcornocales (comprendiendo parte de la Sierra del Aljibe) y su historia se remonta a lo más antiguo. La primera población estable es del año 189 a. C. y su nombre lo obtuvo de la conquista musulmana, cuando la población pasó a llamarse Qalat at Yazula, o 'Castillo de los Gazules'.
Sus principales fuentes de ingresos son el turismo y la agricultura.
Se trata de uno de los municipios más importantes en la época de los turdetanos. Los romanos la denominaron Regina Turditana y los árabes Al-Kalat, cuya traducción es 'el Castillo'. El Rey de Granada confirió esta ciudad a la estirpe de caballeros Gazules, de la cual tomó su definitiva denominación. En 1248 la conquistó Fernando III, pero pasó de nuevo a poder de los musulmanes, hasta que en 1264 el rey Alfonso X el Sabio la reconquistó. Sufrió continuos ataques por parte de Abu-Melik, en uno de los cuales se libró la batalla del llano de la Pelea en la que perdió la vida el Infante Fernán González de Aguilar, protector de la ciudad. En 1444 la ciudad es incluida en los territorios del señorío de los Ribera, señores que posteriormente fueron proclamados Duques de Alcalá de los Gazules, título que con el tiempo se incorporó a la Casa de Medinaceli.
En 1809 en la ciudad se formó la Milicia Montada para combatir a las tropas francesas durante la Guerra de la Independencia. Cosecharon heroicas victorias frente a aquellas, a pesar de estar en inferioridad numérica. Un año más tarde las tropas del general Manbourg degollaron, como represalia, a todos sus habitantes y volaron el castillo árabe. Uno de los personajes históricos más prestigiosos nacidos en esta ciudad fue Fernando Casas, autor del primer tratado conocido sobre el cólera. Actualmente Alcalá vive, fundamentalmente, de la ganadería, agricultura y producción de corcho.

This image forms part of the digitised photographs of the Ross and Pat Craig Collection. Ross Craig (1926-2012) was a local historian born in Stockton and dedicated much of his life promoting and conserving the history of Stockton, NSW. He possessed a wealth of knowledge about the suburb and was a founding member of the Stockton Historical Society and co-editor of its magazine. Pat Craig supported her husbandâs passion for history, and together they made a great contribution to the Stockton and Newcastle communities. We thank the Craig Family and Stockton Historical Society who have kindly given Cultural Collections at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, access to the collection and allowed us to publish the images. Thanks also to Vera Deacon for her liaison in attaining this important collection.

Visiting Pro Golfers from Japan competing in the Governor's Cup Golf Tournament at Starts Golf Resort.
蒼茫 (そうぼう, sōbō), means “vast (mesmerising) skies”. Fragment form the poetry verse by 王維 (Wáng Wéi, 699 – 759), a Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty (唐朝, 618 – 907). This very expressive work is reminding us of the powers of furious yet at the same time mesmerising vast skies.
Mandarin Duck. I think this is a new arrival in two senses; the first I've seen at Stover but I suspect it may be a juvenile. The colours don't seem complete on the head and breast. Let me know if you agree or not.

Vers 1560 Bullant construisit, encore pour Montmorency, le Petit château de Chantilly, qui révèle un aspect différent de son art. L’édifice se compose d’un bâtiment allongé assez bas reliant deux corps perpendiculaires aux toits plus élevés. Il est divisé en deux niveaux d’égales dimensions, division partiellement marquée en façade par l’emploie d’un ordre unique. Dans la partie centrale, cet ordre est seulement matérialisé par un entablement ; les pilastres ici absents n’apparaissent que sur le avant-corps latéraux. Plus haut que le niveau inférieur, l’ordre ne l’est pas assez pour englober les fenêtres de l’étage, qui viennent couper l’entablement , créant une sorte de rythme syncopé. La composition de la façade d’entrée est encore plus complexe : la travée centrale reprend les dispositions de Fère ; sur les côtés, les fenêtres des deux niveaux sont liées en bandes verticales coupant l’entablement. Ce rythme syncopé, caractéristique du style de Bullant, peut être considéré comme une forme française du maniérisme, analogue par certains aspects, aux ordonnances enchevêtrées que Palladio a utilisés, par exemple au palais Valmarana de Vicence ou à San Francesco della Vigna à Venise. Dans la disposition des fenêtres de Chantilly, toutefois, Bullant s’inspire, peut-être inconsciemment, d’une tradition gothique tardif s’exprimant par exemple au château de Josselin où fenêtres et lucarnes s’ordonnent en bandes verticales coupant la balustrade qui règne à la base du toit. Le rythme syncopé est analogue à celui de Chantilly, mais traduit un état d’esprit différent : Bullant devait être conscient d’enfreindre les lois régissant l’utilisation des ordres ; principes ignorés de l’architecture de Josselin ; dans le cas de Bullant, le procédé peut être à juste titre qualifié de maniérisme.

Our principal violinists, cellist and harpsichordist were at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, Darlington, on Wednesday 20th September 2017 for a workshop on performance and interpretation. We greatly enjoyed working with the orchestra and soloists on three concertos – Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor BWV 1041, Vivaldi’s Flute Concerto in D major ‘The Goldfinch’ RV428 and John Garth’s Cello Concerto No 2 in B flat major. It was an intensive workshop focusing on period interpretation, style and performance practices, and at the end of the workshop the orchestra presented a concert to an invited audience of students from other schools in the area. We were delighted to be involved in this workshop to engage and explore this wonderful music with enthusiastic young players.
We’re grateful to Dr Simon Fleming (Curriculum Leader for Music) and the staff at QESFC for inviting us to lead this workshop. QESFC has a thriving culture of music education and participation, and we’re delighted to have been involved in supporting their music learning.
The Avison Ensemble is the outstanding period instrument orchestra based in Newcastle upon Tyne, which plays and popularises the music of Charles Avison (1709-1770) and other English classical composers of the Baroque period, such as Garth, Arne and Herschel. The Ensemble also performs Purcell, Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli, Geminiani, Pergolesi, Teleman, Rameau, Bach, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
