Sabato 14 maggio 2022 sul palco dell'Alcatraz arrivano gli Skunk Anansie, in concerto nell'ambito del loro Celebrating 25 Years Tour.
Gli Skunk Anansie sono un gruppo musicale britannico la cui musica è stata definita un amalgama di heavy metal e musica di protesta rabbiosa, "nera" e femminista, con testi politicizzati e influenze ibride funk, blues, punk rock, reggae e hip hop.
Il gruppo è formato da Skin, pseudonimo di Deborah Anne Dyer (voce), Cass Lewis (Richard Lewis - basso e seconda voce) Ace (Martin Kent - chitarra e cori) e Mark Richardson (batteria e seconda voce). Il gruppo si è formato nel 1994 e si è sciolto nel 2001, per poi riformarsi nel 2009.
Il loro primo singolo, Little baby swastikkka, viene commercializzato solo per posta tramite la Bbc. Il terzo singolo, I can dream, entra nella Top 40 e precede l'uscita del primo album, Paranoid and Sunburnt, in cui i testi di Skin, bisessuale dichiarata, affrontano con franchezza a volte sconcertante temi come sesso, religione e razzismo. Il secondo disco, Stoosh, supera il successo del precedente grazie anche al successo del brano Hedonism. Nel 1999 esce Post Orgasmic Chill, l’ultimo album della band che decide poi di separarsi per dedicarsi a progetti solisti.
Nel 2009 gli Skunk Anansie si riformano per un tour, pubblicando un best con tre inediti, Smashes & Trashes. Nel 2010 viene invece realizzato il quarto album del gruppo, Wonderlustre, preceduto dal singolo My ugly boy. Seguono i dischi Black Traffic del 2012 e Anarchytecture del 2016. Nel 2019 celebrano i 25 anni di carriera nel 2019 con il tour e il live album 25live@25.
Safari 3.0 beta finally has form widgets that can be styled nicely and de-aquafied. Select elements can be restyled by changing the border element using CSS, the above has border: 1px solid #ccc; set which appears to de-aquafy quite nicely.
Text boxes can be resized on the fly too, there's a dragger down the bottom right corner.. Very nice indeed.
Don't forget to uninstall SafariStand... it prevented my 3.0 install from rendering pages.
The radius of the curves that I want to end up with is 16'. In order to allow for the "spring back" of the steel, the bending form is 10' radius. The form is mounted to a hydraulic jack and Harbor Freight pipe bender. I used chains to restrain the ends of the tubing during the bend. Everything is mounted to the steel edge of my outdoor workbench.

"L’oggetto è costituito da una serie di contenitori modulati a forma di spicchio, disposti circolarmente attorno a un asse verticale, al quale ogni spicchio appoggia il suo lato rettilineo mentre tutti i lati curvi volti verso l’esterno, danno nell’assieme come forma globale, una specie di sfera.
L’insieme di questi spicchi è raccolto in un imballaggio ben caratterizzato sia come materia sia come colore: abbastanza duro alla superficie esterna e rivestito con un’imbottitura morbida interna di protezione tra l’esterno e l’assieme dei contenitori. Il materiale usato è tutto della stessa natura, in origine, ma si differenzia in modo appropriato secondo la funzione. L’apertura dell’imballaggio avviene in modo molto semplice e quindi non si rende necessario uno stampato allegato con le illustrazioni per l’uso. Lo strato d’imbottitura ha anche la funzione di creare una zona neutra tra la superficie esterna e i contenitori così che, rompendo la superficie, in qualunque punto, senza bisogno di calcolare lo spessore esatto di questa, è possibile aprire l’imballaggio e prendere i contenitori intatti. Ogni contenitore è a sua volta formato da una pellicola plastica, sufficiente per contenere il succo, ma naturalmente abbastanza manovrabile. Un debolissimo adesivo tiene uniti gli spicchi tra loro per cui è facile scomporre l’oggetto nelle sue varie parti tutte uguali. L’imballaggio, come si usa oggi, non è da ritornare al fabbricante ma si può gettare. Qualcosa va detto sulla forma degli spicchi: ogni spicchio ha esattamente la forma della disposizione dei denti nella bocca umana per cui, una volta estratto dall’imballaggio si può appoggiare tra i denti e con una leggera pressione, romperlo e mangiare il succo. Si potrebbe anche, a questo proposito considerare come i mandarini siano una specie di produzione minore, adatta specialmente ai bambini, avendo lo spicchio più piccolo. Oggi purtroppo con l’uso delle macchine spremitrici tutto viene confuso e gli adulti mangiano il cibo dei bambini e viceversa. Di solito, gli spicchi, contengono oltre al succo, un piccolo seme della stessa pianta: un piccolo omaggio che la produzione offre al consumatore nel caso che questi volesse avere una produzione personale di questi oggetti. Notare il disinteresse economico di una simile idea e per contro il legame psicologico che ne nasce tra consumatore e produzione: nessuno, o ben pochi, si mettono a seminare aranci, però l’offerta di questa concessione altamente altruista, l’idea di poterlo fare, libera il consumatore dal complesso di castrazione e stabilisce un rapporto di fiducia autonoma reciproca. Gesto cordiale e signorile, non come certi produttori contemporanei che offrono una mucca a chi compra venticinque grammi di formaggio.
L’arancia quindi è un oggetto quasi perfetto dove si riscontra l’assoluta coerenza tra forma, funzione, consumo.
Persino il colore è esatto, in blu sarebbe sbagliato. Tipico oggetto di una produzione veramente di grande serie e a livello internazionale dove l’assenza di qualunque elemento simbolico espressivo legato alla moda dello styling o dell’estètique industrielle, di qualunque riferimento a figuratività sofisticate, dimostrano una conoscenza di progettazione difficile da riscontrare nel livello medio dei designer. Unica concessione decorativa, se così possiamo dire, si può considerare la ricerca “materica” della superficie dell’imballaggio trattata a “buccia d’arancia”. Forse per ricordare la polpa interna dei contenitori a spicchio, comunque un minimo di decorazione, tanto più giustificata come in questo caso, dobbiamo ammetterla".

5/21にさいたま市大宮盆栽美術館に
大和田良さんの写真展「FORM」を見に行ってきました。
独特の写真で、前回の「Wine collection」とはまた違う世界観。
日本的なものをキーワードに探求をした結果「松」を被写体としたそうです。
何度見ても飽きることなくずっと鑑賞。館内の盆栽と見比べたりする楽しみもあり、
とても見応えのある写真展でした。まだまだ見足りないので、会期中に足を運ぼうと思います。
ちなみに上の写真は、この日撮影できる日替わりの１鉢を撮ったものです。
あとロビーの１鉢も撮影可。ほかは眼で愉しんでいきます。カフェもあります。

Estas son dos losas más que formaban parte de los frisos del Monumento Nereida.
La que está en la parte superior de esta foto es una pieza de esquina que muestra en el lado largo una falange de ocho hoplitas. Sólo en uno de esos hoplitas ha conservado la cabeza en este pieza, pero se puede ver claramente cómo van uniformados y avanzando con sus escudos en formación.

La losa más grande que aparece en la parte inferior de esta foto, también es una pieza de esquina. Este fragmento de mármol mide 66.7 cms. de largo en la parte corta que no se puede ver aquí y 135 cms. de largo en este frente. La escena que aquí aparece muestra a dos hombres muertos, uno de ellos sobre el caballo que se está alzando y otro caído en el suelo. Hay dos guerreros hoplitas en pie, ambos con escudos y yendo hacia la derecha. El que está al lado izquierdo lleva una coraza arriba de su túnica. Y el que está a la derecha lleva un escudo y un yelmo el cual está decorado con un cuerno de borrego a la altura del oído. El hombre que está muerto en el suelo tiene los brazos sobre su cabeza y está como volteado pues se puede ver su cara barbuda mientras que sus piernas están de perfil. En el suelo se ve otro yelmo (entre los pies del soldado izquierdo) que pudiera ser de alguno de los dos hombres caídos.

I've been studying black and white "fine art" lately. This was a clean white VW beetle sitting in a parking lot catching some pretty white sun. Gave it a shot. Your thoughts?
This cave temple has been carved out from a low rising hill on its eastern facade. This hall type cave would have been carved during the Pallava reign by their subordinates, the Muttharaiyas.
Kunnandarkoil in Tamil means Temple of the Lord. The temple has thirty-seven inscriptions and the earliest ones are from the Pallava period of Nandi Potharaiyar (Nandivarman III).
Cave Temple Extensions:
There is a ratha-mandapa called hundred pillared hall, however there are only ninety pillars inside. There are two wheels and two horses driving this mandapa. There are eight ganas placed at the base of this mandapa in front. Seven are male and one is female. Does this suggests that this mandapa was in form of a chariot which should be driven by eight horses? There are references of seven horses in the chariot of Surya (Sun) however eight horses is a very unusual occurrence hence the number of ganas might not be for horses.
There are twenty-four spokes in both the wheels. The spokes are in form of a shankha (conch) and a deva-gana arranged in alternate fashion. Such hundred pillar mandapas were in fashion during Nayakas and Vijayanagara time.

Two Bronze Mask-Form Harness Ornaments
Western Zhou Dynasty（circa 1046 - 771 BC）
The first is cast in relief as a taotie mask with pierced eyes and curved horns. On the concave reverse there is a vertical attachment loop behind each horn at the top, and a third, horizontal, loop at the bottom. The second is cast in relief as a tiger mask with large openwork ears that come to a point and curved markings on the nose. A horizontal strap spans the concave reverse. There is malachite and earth encrustation.
