General Motors donated $130,000 to the colleges of Engineering and Business during the Project Showcase. The money will be used for diversity programs among other things. Accepting GM's check on the College of Engineering's behalf was Renata Engel.
Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park in Cozumel features lush botanical gardens with a trail of archaeological replicas winding through the greenery. Although they aren't the ''real thing'' (or even made of stone), it's a nice way to see the types of statues, monuments, and arches you'd find at historic sites throughout Mexico.
According to the informational placard, this is a replica of a Quetzallicoatl, or Quetzalcoatl, sculpture from Teotihuacan in the Altiplano Central region of Mexico, and represents the Teotihuacana culture. Quetzalcoatl was a Teotihuacan feathered serpent deity.
