ENG: I discovered this point of view during a walk through the Anton-Saefkow-Park in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg. I thought it was nice to see the shadows of the bicycle stands and the industrialized apartment block in the background in the middle of nature.
GER: Diesen Blickwinkel habe ich bei einem Spaziergang durch den Anton-Saefkow-Park im Berliner Bezirk Prenzlauer Berg entdeckt. ich fand es einfach schön anzusehen, die Schattenwürfe der Fahrradständer und den Plattenbau im Hintergrund mitten in der Natur.
ENG: The Bode Museum, opened in 1904 as the Kaiser Friedrich Museum, is part of the Museum Island ensemble in Berlin and thus a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It houses the Sculpture Collection, the Museum of Byzantine Art and the Numismatic Collection. It was reopened on 17 October 2006 after almost six years of renovation and opened to the public on 19 October of the same year.
The Bode-Museum became doubtfully well-known during the night of 27 March 2017, when a "Big Maple Leaf Gold Coin" weighing around 100 kg was stolen from the exhibition. This loan from a private owner had a face value of around 1.0 million Canadian dollars, the material value at the time of the crime was around 3.8 million euros. The gold coin and the perpetrators have since disappeared and the coin was most likely melted down.
GER: Das Bode-Museum, 1904 als Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum eröffnet, gehört zum Ensemble der Museumsinsel in Berlin und damit zum Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO. Es beherbergt die Skulpturensammlung und das Museum für Byzantinische Kunst sowie das Münzkabinett. Am 17. Oktober 2006 wurde es nach knapp sechsjähriger Renovierung wiedereröffnet und am 19. Oktober desselben Jahres der Öffentlichkeit übergeben.
Zu zweifelhafter Bekanntheit kam das Bode-Museum in der Nacht auf den 27. März 2017, da wurde eine rund 100 kg schwere „Big-Maple-Leaf-Goldmünze“ aus der Ausstellung gestohlen. Diese Leihgabe eines privaten Eigentümers hatte einen Nennwert von rund 1,0 Million kanadische Dollar, der Materialwert zum Tatzeitpunkt rund 3,8 Millionen Euro. Die Goldmünze sowie die Täter sind seitdem verschwunden und die Münze wurde aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach eingeschmolzen.
ENG: The Waldorf Astoria Berlin - A luxury hotel in the heart of Berlin and its marble staircase in the foyer. The Zoofenster is a high-rise hotel building in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin and was opened on January 3, 2013. It owes its name to the Zoological Garden opposite and, at 118.8 meters, is the fifth tallest skyscraper in Berlin (2024) together with the neighbouring Upper West, which is the same height. Together with the Upper West, it forms a gateway ensemble to Kantstrasse and frames the Memorial Church on Breitscheidplatz in terms of urban planning.

GER: Das Waldorf Astoria Berlin - Ein Luxushotel im Herzen Berlins und seine Mamor Treppe im Foyer. Das Zoofenster ist ein Hotel-Hochhaus im Berliner Ortsteil Charlottenburg und wurde am 3. Januar 2013 eröffnet. Es verdankt seinen Namen dem gegenüberliegenden Zoologischen Garten und steht mit 118,8 Metern zusammen mit dem benachbarten gleichhohen Upper West auf Platz 5 aller Berliner Hochhäuser (2024). Gemeinsam mit dem Upper West bildet es ein Torensemble zur Kantstraße und rahmt die Gedächtniskirche am Breitscheidplatz städtebaulich ein.

ENG: Now come my last impressions from this year's summer vacation in the Allgäu. My last day with a lot of relaxation in the holiday resort Heimen. Heimen is a small dreamy place which belongs to the district Hopferau, not far from Füssen and the border to Austria. The view of the Alps from here was simply breathtakingly beautiful and still makes me reminisce today.
GER: Nun kommen meine letzten Impressionen vom diesjährigen Sommerurlaub im Allgäu. Mein letzter Tag mit viel Entspannung im Urlaubsort Heimen. Heimen ist ein kleiner verträumter Ort der zum Kreis Hopferau gehört, ganz unweit von Füssen und der Grenze zu Österreich. Der Alpen Blick von hier aus war einfach atemberaubend schön und lässt mich heute noch von zehren.

The Brandenburg Gate at Luisenplatz in Potsdam was built in 1771 by Carl von Gontard and Georg Christian Unger on behalf of Friedrich II. It stands at the western end of Brandenburger Straße, which runs in a straight line to the church of St. Peter and Paul. It is one of the three preserved city gates of Potsdam.
Earlier, in 1733, there was another, simpler gate at the same place, which resembled a city gate. Together with the city wall, a kind of customs wall or excise wall, and the other gates, it was supposed to prevent desertion and smuggling.

Das Brandenburger Tor am Luisenplatz in Potsdam wurde 1771 von Carl von Gontard und Georg Christian Unger im Auftrag Friedrichs II. gebaut. Es steht am westlichen Ende der Brandenburger Straße, welche in gerader Linie bis zur Kirche St. Peter und Paul verläuft. Es ist eines der drei erhaltenen Stadttore von Potsdam.
Früher, 1733, gab es an derselben Stelle ein anderes, einfacheres Tor, welches einem Stadttor ähnelte. Zusammen mit der Stadtmauer, einer Art Zollmauer oder Akzisemauer, und den anderen Toren sollte es die Desertion und den Schmuggel unterbinden.

[ENG] The nympheaea are tropical, herbaceous, perennial and aquatic plants that belong to the nymphaeaceae family. We know them familiarly as water lilies or waterlilies in the United Kingdom. In the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid (Spain), in the oval pond located on the Bonsai Terrace, during the summer months we can enjoy an exquisite collection donated by Tomás Escribano, an expert in the cultivation of these beautiful and exotic plants. Nympheaea have leaves that are usually floating, rarely emerged, sagittate to orbicular, with an entire edge, sinuate or toothed, with mainly palmate veins, and their flowers are solitary, floating or emerged, of various colors, and of nocturnal flowering (they remain open from the twilight to mid-morning) or daytime (open from mid-morning to sunset). ENG: The Nauener Gate (in german: Nauener Tor) is one of the three preserved city gates of Potsdam. It was built in 1755 and is considered the first building of neo-Gothic style on the European continent. In 1755, i.e. 20 years before the actual beginning of neo-Gothic architecture on the continent, an architecture in Gothic forms was created with the Nauener Tor in Potsdam after a sketch by Friedrich II by the architect Johann Gottfried Büring. In 1867-69, King Wilhelm I rebuilt this gate into its present form.
Originally, a city wall connected the Nauen Gate with the other two gates, the Jägertor and the Brandenburg Gate at Luisenplatz. Instead of the city wall, which has not been preserved, a promenade now connects the three remaining Potsdam city gates. The Nauener Tor is located in the immediate vicinity of the Dutch Quarter. Its users were the military and traders, craftsmen and administrations up to the restaurant. The square in front of the Nauener Tor has been a popular meeting place for Potsdammers and their guests since the last renovation of the gate and redesign of the traffic management in 1996 with the high density of cafés, restaurants and bars. The tram tracks run directly through the Nauener Tor. In addition, there are only two other cities in the German-speaking area with such gate crossings, namely the tram in Freiburg im Breisgau and the cage tower at the Bern tram.
GER: Das Nauener Tor ist eines der drei erhaltenen Stadttore von Potsdam. Es wurde 1755 erbaut und gilt als erstes Bauwerk neugotischen Stils auf dem europäischen Kontinent. 1755, also 20 Jahre vor dem eigentlichen Beginn der Neugotik auf dem Kontinent, entstand nach einer Skizze Friedrichs II. durch den Architekten Johann Gottfried Büring mit dem Nauener Tor in Potsdam eine Architektur in gotischen Formen. 1867–69 wurde dieses Tor durch König Wilhelm I. in seine heutige Gestalt umgebaut.
Ursprünglich verband eine Stadtmauer das Nauener Tor mit den beiden anderen Toren, dem Jägertor und dem Brandenburger Tor am Luisenplatz. Anstelle der nicht erhaltenen Stadtmauer verbindet heute eine Promenade die drei noch verbliebenen Potsdamer Stadttore. Das Nauener Tor befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Holländischen Viertel. Seine Nutzer waren das Militär und Händler, Handwerker und Verwaltungen bis zum Restaurant. Der Platz vor dem Nauener Tor ist seit der letzten Renovierung des Tores und Umgestaltung der Verkehrsführung 1996 mit der hohen Dichte von Cafés, Restaurants und Bars ein beliebter Treffpunkt der Potsdamer und ihrer Gäste. Die Gleise der Straßenbahn führen direkt durch das Nauener Tor. Darüber hinaus gibt es im deutschsprachigen Raum nur noch zwei andere Städte mit derartigen Tordurchfahrten, hierbei handelt es sich um die der Straßenbahn in Freiburg im Breisgau und den Käfigturm bei der Straßenbahn Bern.

ENG: The "Highline179" is a pedestrian suspension bridge in the form of a rope bridge over the Austrian long-distance pass road B 179 south of Reutte in Tyrol. It extends at a height of 113 to 114 m over the Ehrenberg castles and connects the Ehrenberg ruins with Fort Claudia. The location of the bridge was chosen so that, with a span of 406 m, it was one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world at the time of completion.
It is not only intended to make it easier to visit the two castle ruins, but above all to be an independent tourist attraction for the municipality of Reutte. The use of the bridge costs 5 euros for children and 8 euros for adults for the outward and return journey. Unfortunately we had a heavy thunderstorm on site, so that the bridge had to be closed.
GER: Die „Highline179“ ist eine Fußgänger-Hängebrücke in Form einer Seilbrücke über die österreichische Fernpassstraße B 179 südlich von Reutte in Tirol. Sie erstreckt sich in einer Höhe von 113 bis 114 m über die Burgenwelt Ehrenberg und verbindet die Ruine Ehrenberg mit dem Fort Claudia. Die Lage der Brücke wurde so gewählt, dass sie mit einer Spannweite von 406 m zum Zeitpunkt der Fertigstellung eine der längsten Fußgängerhängebrücken der Welt war.
Sie dient damit nicht nur der leichteren Besichtigung der beiden Burgruinen, sondern soll vor allem eine eigenständige Touristenattraktion für die Gemeinde Reutte sein. Die Benutzung der Brücke schlägt mit 5 Euro für Kinder und 8 Euro für Erwachsene zu Buche für den Hin und Rückweg. Leider hatten wir dann ein dickes Unwetter vor Ort, so dass die Brücke gesperrt werden musste.

The Soester Eng is an elongated sand hill in Soest, the Netherlands, the long eastern side of which borders the low, marshy peat soil of the Eempolder. The Soester Eng covers about 60 ha.
On the right you see mill the Windhond from the 15th century.

Yet another crazy shot, going back to the slow speed panning approach, keeping focus on the boat, this time focusing manually. My purpose this time was to freeze the effect of the stroke on the water surface. You can still see the tale-telling shadow of the red oar which just got out of the water. Technically, it was a really lousy dirty stroke: a perfect stroke wouldn't have risen any water.
Otra locura de disparo, volviendo a la técnica de barrido a baja velocidad, manteniendo el enfoque sobre el bote, esta vez con enfoque manual. Mi intención esta vez era congelar el efecto de la palada sobre la superficie del agua. Todavía se aprecia la sombra reveladora de la pala roja que acaba de salir. Técnicamente fue una mala palada (saca sucio, diría un remero): una palada perfecta no hubiera levantado agua.
[ENG] The Mushrooms of Seville is an iconic monument of the city, its wooden structure in the shape of a parasol is the largest in the world, measuring 150 x 70 m and its height is 28.5 m, built with 3,500 pieces joined at about 3,000 knots with 16 million screws. It houses a traditional market and restaurants on the ground floor, the Anticuarium Museum in the basement with the archaeological remains from Roman times discovered during the work, and a panoramic viewpoint on the roof that allows the contemplation of the city and its monuments along a walkway of 250 meters. The project -called Metropol Parasol- is by the German architect Jürgen Mayer and was chosen from 65 proposals in an international competition. It was inaugurated in 2011. ENG: An old attic in the middle of Berlin's Tempelhof district. History was written here during the Second World War. During such a small guided tour through the neighbourhood you will learn a lot. Whether it's a flag gun location or capitulation at the living room table.
The downfall of the "Third Reich" was first sealed in Berlin: The capital capitulated on 2 May 1945, six days before the surrender of all Germany. The document was signed by Germans and Soviets in the house at Schulenburgring No. 2, where Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller later grew up.
GER: Ein alter Dachboden inmitten des Berliner Stadtteils Tempelhof. Hier wurde während des Zweiten Weltkriegs Geschichte geschrieben. Bei so einer kleinen Führung durch den Kiez erfährt man dann doch so einiges. Ob Flaggeschütz Standorte oder die Kapitulation am Wohnzimmertisch.
Der Untergang des "Dritten Reichs" wurde zu allererst in Berlin besiegelt: Die Hauptstadt kapitulierte am 2. Mai 1945, sechs Tage vor der Kapitulation Gesamtdeutschlands. Die Urkunde dazu unterschrieben Deutsche und Sowjets in dem Haus im Schulenburgring Nr. 2, in dem später Berlins Regierender Bürgermeister Michael Müller aufwuchs.

Der Thalhof bei Reichenau an der Rax, zu Kaisers Zeiten ein Gasthof und Hotel der Familie Waissnix, heute ein Veranstaltungsort für Theater und Lesungen, ist Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen auf den Gahns durch die hinter dem Thalhof liegende Bergschlucht Eng, aber auch für eine Wanderung auf dem Kaisersteig durch den Bergwald links des Thalhofs.
The building ensemble Thalhof next to Reichenau an der Rax, at imperial times a inn and hotel of the family Waissnix, nowadays a event centre for theatre and readings, is starting point for hikes up to the Gahns through the behind the Thalhof lying canyon Eng, but rather for a hike at the hunters path Kaisersteig through the mountain forest left of the Thalhof.
Ganz schön eng ging es am Einschnitt zwischen Mägdesprung und Drahtzug zu. Hier fegt uns am 11.02.1989 die 99 6001 mit ihrem P 14465 von den Gleisen...;-)
ENG: You can see the roof of the Arminius-Market hall in the Moabit district of Berlin. Here you can eat quite well and delicious. The old building also has many interesting details that you should have seen.
GER: Zu sehen ist das Dach der Arminiusmarkthalle im Berliner Bezirk Moabit. Hier kann man ganz gut und lecker essen gehen. Das alte Gebäude hat auch viele interessante Details, die man mal gesehen haben sollte.
ENG: The Wieskirche is a remarkably beautifully furnished pilgrimage church which belongs to the Steingaden parish and is located in the Wies district, also known as the Bavarian "Pfaffenwinkel". The complete name of the Wieskirche is pilgrimage church to the Scourged Saviour on the Wies.
Today's building was built from 1745 to 1754 in rococo style. The church is located in the diocese of Augsburg and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. Patron saint of the church is St. Joseph.
A special feature of the "Wieskirche" are the cupola frescoes by Johann Baptist Zimmermann. The foundation of the church goes back to a pilgrimage which existed since 1739. It originated from the veneration of a statue of the scourged Saviour. The statue and the cupola painting are regarded as today's highlights.
GER: Die Wieskirche ist eine bemerkenswert prächtig ausgestattete Wallfahrtskirche die zur Gemeinde Steingaden gehört und sich im Ortsteil Wies befindet, auch bayerischen „Pfaffenwinkel“ genannt. Der vollständige Name der Wieskirche lautet Wallfahrtskirche zum Gegeißelten Heiland auf der Wies.
Der heutige Bau wurde von 1745 bis 1754 im Rokoko Stil erbaut. Die Kirche ist im Bistum Augsburg gelegen und gehört seit 1983 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Patron der Kirche ist der Hl. Josef.
Eine Besonderheit der „Wieskirche“ sind die Kuppelfresken von Johann Baptist Zimmermann. Die Gründung der Kirche geht auf eine Wallfahrt zurück, die seit 1739 bestand. [ENG] Third of the Lego speedsters line, the Blue Mosquito! This time it's a little bigger ship, heavily inspired by Wipeot videogame series (I was a super hardcore fan of Wipeout, and I'm loving the recent Wipeot Omega Collection). Hope you'll like it, and i'm feeling that a bigger scale could fit even better for this type of creations.

[ITA] Il terzo speedster che ho costruito prende ispirazione dalla fantastica serie di videogiochi di Wipeout, a cui ero molto legato in passato, e che ho recentemente riscoperto con la Omega Collection. Spero che vi piaccia, io ho già visto che una scala leggermente più grande si adatterebbe ancor meglio a queste astronavine.
