This is a photograph from the Leinster Cross Country Championships which was held at Moyvalley Hotel and Golf Estate at Balyna Estate, Moyvalley, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 25th October 2015 begining at 11:00 until the final race at 14:20. The programme for today included Boys and Girls even ages, Junior male and female, Novice male and female and Masters male and female. The races were run on a superb course beside the Moyvalley hotel where the vast acres of prime farmland provided a large space to have a fair but challenging course on good firm ground.
The Leinster event was hosted by local club Na Fianna from Co. Meath. However the venue was actually just inside Co. Kildare in a part of the county where Meath and Kildare borders intersect several times along the route of the old N4/N6 road. The luxury Moyvalley Hotel & Golf resort is set amidst 550 acres of historic Kildare countryside and is easily accessed from the M6/M4 at Enfield or Kinnegad.

Balyna Estate where the races were held can trace its history back to the 1500s. More recently the estate was owned by the Bewley Family of the Bewley Cafe fame. The hotel and resort were taken over by new management in 2014 who are implementing big plans to expand Moyvalley further.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Berlin: A huge cable drum and a pressure control device for oil pressure cables, both products of the former Kabelwerk Oberspree (KWO - Cable Industries Oberspreee) are exhibited in front of the Oberschöneweide Industrial Salon.
In Oberschöneweide befand sich eins der größten Industriegebiete Europas, entwickelt ab 1889 vor allem von Emil Rathenau und der von ihm gegründeten AEG. Zu DDR-Zeiten war Oberschöneweide mit 36.000 Arbeitsplätzen in 14 Großbetrieben der wichtigste innerstädtische Industriestandort. Allein in den Betrieben am Spreeufer gab es 25.000 Beschäftigte, heute nur noch rund ein Zehntel. Die Reinbeckhallen waren Teil des AEG-Transformatorenwerks (seit 1946 Transformatorenwerk Oberspree, TRO). Das Transformatorenwerk, das 1991 wieder von der AEG erworben worden war, wurde 1996 endgültig geschlossen. Ein Teil des riesigen Geländes wurde von einem Investor zum Kunst- und Kulturzentrum Reinbeckhallen umgewandelt. Der Industriesalon Schöneweide auf demselben Gelände hat es sich zur Aufgabe gestellt, die bedeutende Industriekultur von Schöneweide vor Ort sichtbar zu machen. Nun bietet sie Raum für Ausstellungen, Vorträge und Gespräche. Eine Dauerausstellung gibt einen Überblick über die Entwicklung des Industriegebiets Schöneweide – von der Gründerzeit bis zu den heute vor Ort aktiven Unternehmen.
Oberschöneweide was one of the largest industrial areas in Europe, developed from 1889 onwards mainly by Emil Rathenau and AEG, which he founded. During the GDR era, Oberschöneweide was the most important inner-city industrial location with 36,000 jobs in 14 large companies. The companies on the banks of the Spree alone employed 25,000 people, today only about one tenth. The Reinbeckhallen were part of the AEG transformer plant (since 1946 Transformatorenwerk Oberspree, TRO). The transformer plant, which had been acquired again by AEG in 1991, was finally closed down in 1996. Part of the huge site was converted by an investor into the Reinbeckhallen Art and Culture Centre. The Schöneweide Industrial Salon on the same site has set itself the task of making Schöneweide's important industrial culture visible on site. Until the fall of the Wall, the pre-workshop of the transformer factory Oberschöneweide (TRO) was located in the 600 square metre hall opposite the Reinbeckhallen. Now it offers space for exhibitions, lectures and discussions. A permanent exhibition provides an overview of the development of the Schöneweide industrial area - from the Wilhelminian era to the companies active on site today.

“Food Simulator” is a device that can imitate not only how a foodstuff tastes but also its consistency and the sound it makes in your mouth.
In the device on exhibit here, a foil-like pressure sensor in the user’s mouth simulates resistance to chewing. Other models of the “Food Simulator” feature a built-in dispenser and atomizer that also simulate the particular foodstuff’s taste and aroma. The sound made by biting into the real foodstuff is recorded in advance with a bone vibration microphone and played back synchronized to the user’s chewing movements to simulate the sound of eating the real thing.

This is a photograph from the 35th Michael Manning Memorial "Dunshaughlin 10KM" Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday 21st June 2014 at 19:30. This race is widely acknowledged in the running community as one of the best races in Ireland. It is also one of the oldest 10KM races in Ireland. The numbers for this race have exceeded expectations year on year for the past number of years. In 2008 a record field of 306 took to the start line but by 2012 this number had more than doubled with 647 runners taking part. The starting numbers in 2013 topped this again at 668. Then this year the numbers rocketed to a new record of 883. Who knows but this race could reach 1,000 entrants next year. The work of the organising committee must be commended on making this event possible. The Dunshaughlin 10KM has earned it's place at the top of the pedestal of Irish running through the sheer hard work of Dunshaughlin AC over the years. Well done to all.

Add another 30 or more handsets, 10 tablets, 10 eReaders, numerous game controllers and portable game units, a handful of GPS navigation devices, and many others to the list. Cats love anti gravity. I bet you didn't know that. This device was invented by Swedish immigrant Per Karlsson in the early 50s, and a small series was produced in Wellington for a while. But people didn't go for it as much as Karlsson had hoped; maybe because they didn't fancy having the cat hover around too much. In case you're wondering what the little cap with the "antlers" is the cat is wearing on its head, it's the mind reader. The cat steers the machine with her thoughts, because, how else would she.

To celebrate major royal and other occasions, fruit buns are thrown from the Abingdon County Hall. Yesterday, to celebrate William and Kate's wedding, 4000 buns were thrown from the scaffolding that surrounds the County Hall. I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't get any!

The Olympic Games are measures of human excellence but what happens when those measures are disrupted by self-augmentation and body modification? Our biological apparatus is in flux, vulnerable, yet re-imagined by technology. What will ability and disability mean in an era of genetically modified athletes and surgically sculpted children? How are artists contributing to this research and debate? For example, genetically screening for ‘perfect pitch’ may produce ideal singers, but whose ideal? Alternatively, what will the integration of future technology within biology mean for how humans communicate with each other via performances (dance, music or sport)? .

In 2010 MRISAR, (a business that has Designed, Fabricated & Marketed the Earth’s Largest Selection of “Internationally Renowned & Awarded, World-Class Robotics Exhibits & Devices”; and “Hands On” Scientific, Technological & Interactive Art Exhibits), purchased a disused school on the plains of North Dakota and relocated to it. Examples; Play with & feed Artificial Life forms in a Robot Zoo! Challenge robots with your human intelligence! Interact with otherworldly artistic, interactive, robotic sculptures! It will also feature Responsible Technologies.
2- Our Art Galleries will display the hundreds of pieces of family friendly, original 2D, 3D and Interactive Art that our team has already created, plus have revolving Family Oriented Local Artists Exhibitions.
3- The surrounding 10 acres is slowly being transformed into an Outdoor Interactive Art & Nature Area that will be filled with paths, trees, gardens and kinetic & interactive, solar & wind, technological art sculptures. The emphasis is edible, medicinal & organic landscapes that promote sustainability & health. As of 2015 over 3,000 edible and medicinal trees and shrubs have been planted.
4- We will provide “Special Tours” of behind the scenes areas. Examples are; (a) our Humanitarian & Environmental Research & Development Think Tank Invention labs that feature our R & D Projects. (b) the actual workshops where the attractions are created (similar to visiting the workshops & creations of Jim Henson’s creature shop). (c) a behind the scenes view of the production studio for the web series we are creating called the “Mysterious Lab of Robotics” (our robotic version of “Bill Nye the Science Guy” or “Beakman’s World”). (d) a chance to meet MRISAR’s internationally renowned robotics R & D team. A four member family team who since 2000 has designed, fabricated & marketed the earth’s largest selection of world-class robotic exhibits. The 2 youngest members joined the team as preschoolers.
5- “Public Enrichment Events”. Examples are; (a) special overnight events called “A Night with the Robots” (available no-where else in the world). Families can make reservations to spend the night on the center floor in sleeping bags or cots and experience special robotic demonstrations in a futuristic atmosphere. In recent years “A Night at the Museum” events have become very popular and highly accepted. (b) special classes on robotics for the general public. (c) Robotics Competitions. We are already providing technical assistance to teachers and academic establishments (both in the state and outside of the country), that are trying to enter robotic competitions, but lack the knowledge to fully instruct and inspire their students. A natural progression for this, once we are open for tourism, would be to offer to hold regional, national and international competitions at our location. (d) International conferences regarding Robotics and Beneficial R & D Conferences. (e) Collaborations, enrichment classes and internships in enhanced technologies with higher academic establishments; combining elements such as Cybernetics, Bionics, Mechatronics, Autonomics, Animatronics & Teleoperation.
6- Admission will be free to the underprivileged. We hope to inspire the upcoming generation to create careers in responsible technologies that improve the quality of life.
7- The proceeds from the Center will help fund our R & D and further our creation of a “Prototype Environment, low cost, low impact, self-sustaining, alternative energy powered, Humanitarian & Environmental Research & Development institute with Think Tank Invention labs”. Our purpose is to invent and present responsible, low cost and easy to implement, beneficial humanitarian and environmental based technologies and methods that assist with social, ecological, sustainable and economic solutions. Accomplishing the prototype environment alone requires research & development of new technologies & improvement of existing technologies.
We have Designed, Fabricated & Marketed the Earth’s Largest Selection of "Internationally Renowned & Awarded" World-Class Robotics Exhibits & Devices; and “Hands On” Scientific, Technological & Interactive Art Exhibits. Our innovative, interactive, inexpensive, durable & easy to maintain creations incorporate interactive technologies & designs for people with disabilities and other special needs. We also provide our own Educational Kits & Materials for K thru 12/College & University level curriculums.

Our Humanitarian & Environmental Research & Development has been presented before and/or published and awarded by: the United Nations, NASA-Emhart, Stanford, Cambridge, ICORR, ROMAN, IEEE, Discover Awards, International Federation of Robotics (IFR), etc. Our 1990's circa, original innovative R & D in "Facial Feature Controlled Technology" and "Artificial Sense of Touch Technology" (Adaptive Technology prototypes for the disabled), has helped pioneer those fields! We were the only company in the world to be awarded an entire chapter regarding our work in the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) “World Robotics; Service Robotics, 2011”.
“Device Art” is an art form that merges art, design, technology, science and entertainment.
