- - up the hilltop, La Pintada is a Maya village stepped back in time. The public schcool is the only building with electricity - It is a small farming village (no electricity, water or plumbing) inhabited by the Chorti Mayan. The crops are corn and beans and additional income comes from the sale of colorful corn husk dolls made by the maya women and children of the village. The children are zealous and persistent in their attempts to sell dolls.
