Mexican beans
Three cooks beans, start
in cold water, bring to boil
strain off water and boil
slowly until tender, the

1 pint of tomatoes. Cook
about 1/2 lb. of lean salt
pork in the beans also about
1/2 pt. olives, the last day
when ready to serve add
onions & tomatoes, salt &
pepper.

Except for the bread books, because they already have a place. I didn't realize there were so many cookbooks! PS--That's my lovely 50-year-old wallpaper, at least the newest layer. That's glue, not water stains. The floor is very dusty. It's just going to have to deal with it until after I finish moving furniture.

we made the seitan "bacon" like this:
first you make seitan out of gluten flour and same amount of water, include spices. when you have mixed the two, make a thin pizza-like dough out of it, then cut it into thin slices. place the slices on a baking sheet and drain well in bbq sauce. place in oven 15 minutes, and then turn the slices. they are supposed to be 15 more minutes in the oven, but we just placed them on the pizza as it was still going to be in the oven for a while.
the devil's sauce is my mothers recipe and the pizza turned out real good.
