One place you might hope to find solitude and the mental room for contemplation is at a museum or art gallery.....places that seem to demand a different kind of behavior than in a restaurant or a mall or other bustling public space. This young couple stands quietly, speechless, as they study a painting by Renoir on exhibit at the de Young Fine Arts Museum (FAMSF) in San Francisco, California.

Trying to give the photo an autumn feel...

Many thanks to Bunko for helping me out with these!

A bull moose stands tall against the setting sun while waiting for his mate. There is a solemn softness in his eyes, reflective of the beauty that surrounds him, and of another day in life that has come to pass. It is early fall in Grand Teton National Park and the chill of winter is already knocking at the door. Moose are the largest species belonging to the deer family. Each winter males lose their large antlers and begin to grow new ones in the spring. They will be used in battle to win a mate during the fall rut. Moose populations have declined significantly over the last several hundred years. The overwhelming negative effects on their population are due to human encroachment. Eastern populations have been extinct for over 150 years. It's just another hard lesson to be learned. This world will be a lonely place if we don't take care to assure the safety of our wild animals.

This year will mark three years since I've spent time in the Tetons in the fall. It is, without doubt, my favorite place to be at this time of year. The weather is as unpredictable as it can be. Temperatures can top out in the mid 70's by midday and there can be a foot of snow on the ground the next. But the beauty of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem in the fall is almost unparalleled, and migrations of some land mammals, like the elk and pronghorn, are some of the longest on the continent. #ILoveWildlife #lLoveNature #WildlifePhotography in #Wyoming #GrandTetonNationalPark #BullMoose #Moose #Photography #Picoftheday #Photooftheday

The perfect time to ponder

I've been thinking lately. Should I do a 365? I'm not sure if I'm able to do so because it may add more stress to me along with two AP classes breathing down my neck. I'll come up with the decision by New Years, because I would like to do a 365 to improve. And boy, do I have a lot of room to improve.

It's the stress that worries me, that's all. :/

I hope all is well for everybody who is reading this, and now I'm going back to my room and clearing every thing in there.

Hooray.

Happy Holidays. :)

Or Merry Christmas.

Or Kwanzaa

or Hannukah.

or if you don't celebrate anything then...... Happy December. :)

Blaaaah PAINTING THIS ROOM SOON!

In breadcrumbs with sauté potatoes. Mmm.

Seems like a good place to go and have a think ...

Looking out over Loch Arkaig. What could be described as "The middle of nowhere", but worth visiting for the peace.

This little downy must have bumped the window and was chilled when I came home from the post office. After holding a few minutes, some squawking and he was ready to be on his way.

Havia três andorinhas, duas juntas e uma sozinha.

E essa estava lá assim, tão tristinha, olhando para o mar;

parecia esperar a chegada da companheira...

A tarde passou, o sol baixou, e quando eu fui embora

ela ainda estava lá esperando, esperando...

There were three seagulls; twice together and one alone.

This one was so lonely, looking to the sea,

Looks like she was waiting for someone...

The afternoon passed, the sun leaved the sky and when I went out

She was still there, waiting, waiting...

"O God, who in this season

give your Church the grace

to imitate devoutly the Blessed Virgin Mary

in contemplating the Passion of Christ,

grant, we pray, through her intercession,

that we may cling more firmly each day

to your Only Begotten Son

and come at last to the fullness of his grace.

Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

Amen."
