I don't normally use people in landscape shots such as this. I did several shots from different angles using only the old log, however, there still appeared to be too much empty space in the foreground. Having this couple included really added some 'character' to the setting.

Location: Lake Louise, Banff National Park.....one of the most photographed places on the planet.

Kevin contemplates the distance while waiting for the signal (behind him) permitting his loco to leave platform 1 and run up to the 'totem pole' before coming back down on to its next train.

The 'Standard 2' was my engine in the afternoon: a local train to Rothley and back, and then six coaches to Leicester and back - which I fired and my mate drove. A thoroughly enjoyable turn.

A bull moose stands tall against the setting sun while waiting for his mate. There is a solemn softness in his eyes, reflective of the beauty that surrounds him, and of another day in life that has come to pass. It is early fall in Grand Teton National Park and the chill of winter is already knocking at the door. Moose are the largest species belonging to the deer family. Each winter males lose their large antlers and begin to grow new ones in the spring. They will be used in battle to win a mate during the fall rut. Moose populations have declined significantly over the last several hundred years. The overwhelming negative effects on their population are due to human encroachment. Eastern populations have been extinct for over 150 years. It's just another hard lesson to be learned. This world will be a lonely place if we don't take care to assure the safety of our wild animals.

This year will mark three years since I've spent time in the Tetons in the fall. It is, without doubt, my favorite place to be at this time of year. The weather is as unpredictable as it can be. Temperatures can top out in the mid 70's by midday and there can be a foot of snow on the ground the next. But the beauty of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem in the fall is almost unparalleled, and migrations of some land mammals, like the elk and pronghorn, are some of the longest on the continent. #ILoveWildlife #lLoveNature #WildlifePhotography in #Wyoming #GrandTetonNationalPark #BullMoose #Moose #Photography #Picoftheday #Photooftheday

Trying to give the photo an autumn feel...

I've been thinking lately. Should I do a 365? I'm not sure if I'm able to do so because it may add more stress to me along with two AP classes breathing down my neck. I'll come up with the decision by New Years, because I would like to do a 365 to improve. And boy, do I have a lot of room to improve.

It's the stress that worries me, that's all. :/

I hope all is well for everybody who is reading this, and now I'm going back to my room and clearing every thing in there.

Hooray.

Happy Holidays. :)

Or Merry Christmas.

Or Kwanzaa

or Hannukah.

or if you don't celebrate anything then...... Happy December. :)

Blaaaah PAINTING THIS ROOM SOON!

In breadcrumbs with sauté potatoes. Mmm.

Seems like a good place to go and have a think ...
