Spiridion Brusina was born on 11 December 1845 in Zadar, Croatia. After graduating from high school in his hometown, he went to study natural science in Vienna. After graduation, in the autumn of the 1867, he returned to Zadar and worked for three months as suplent in Zadar School. He became a curator of Science Department of National Museum in Zagreb on 1st January 1868. He was researched living and fossil molluscs, organized ornithological observations, taken first scientific investigation of the Adriatic Sea in 1894, promoted Darwin's evolutionary ideas and co-found the Croatian Natural History Society (1885).

Nikolai is one of my very first characters when I first started creating them, Nikolai is a young boy that comes from a mixed race backround. He has lived in a moving circus all his life, among wild animals and evil witches, He comes from the dark forests of central europe, and his destiny is Paris.

We can see the stars in the sky, right before sunrise, which makes a great composition to the picture! It would be fantastic to actually be there and live this magic moment in person... Imagine taking your breakfast there! :)
