This one is among the most favorite photos I have taken so far.
These are hands of a female Bonobo ape. They are an amazingly calm group of animals with a very high level of intelligence. Million years ago, we humans and they had a common ancestor. As a result we share 98% of our DNA with them.
Frans de Waal, one of the world's most popular primatologists, states that the Bonobo often is capable of altruism, compassion, empathy, kindness, patience, and sensitivity. How peaceful bonobos are has been disputed by some, but in general scientists agree with these assessments and fact remains that thus far there are no confirmed observations of lethal aggression among bonobos, neither in the wild nor in captivity.
Observations in the wild indicate that the males among the related Common Chimpanzee communities are extraordinarily hostile to males from outside of the community. Parties of males 'patrol' for the unfortunate neighbouring males who might be traveling alone, and attack those single males, often killing them. This does not appear to be the behavior of the Bonobo males or females in their own communities, where they seem to prefer sexual contact over violent confrontation with outsiders. In fact, the Japanese scientists who have spent most time working with wild Bonobos describe the species as extraordinarily peaceful, and de Waal has documented how Bonobos resolve conflicts with sexual contact (hence the "make love - not war" characterization for the species). - Wikipedia

on the road to jericoacoara we passed this rad bridge/river setup in the middle of nowhere, where the local kids were cooling off, having just gotten out of school. upon seeing me whip out my camera, they inundated the bridge and proceeded to question my technology. this brave young chap offered to jump off the bridge for me, which was about 50ft. high.
Embroidered drawing of suicidal ideation - the spilling of lifeblood in the bath, soaking away the sorrows of life.

2013 - Mic seems to be thinking about whether or not he should grow a beard like this and color it red.
Contemplate the horizon and the movement of the waves . . . be still . . . allow a space to open . . .
Chillan, Chile / Here we have another picture taken in portrait to be able to see the great sky that we had this night. Also we can see the moonlight heating the mountains and some rocks shadows in the bottom of the picture. I hope you like it.
Today Kel played golf with her brothers, Mike & Jerry. It has been YEARS since she last played.
Yesterday, after dinner, she hit some balls around the yard for a while. Dyson wanted to give it a try...
THE INFINITE FRACTAL UNIVERSE
big bang based largely on natural philosophy arguments.
Sub-atomic glue Hot spot effect in subatomic physics this refers both to atomic nuclei Solitary waves (solitons) are a possible physical mechanism for the creation of hot spots in nuclear interactions. The particles are all different forms of the so-called Omega-c baryon University of Edinburgh, UK, who works on the LHCb experiment at Cern's LHC, said Five new particles hold clues to sub-atomic glue.
Mathematicians (and especially ... These subatomic particles are said to be made up of quarks and electrons (or leptons), which (scientists say) appear to be glued together by bosons.
the Universe has always existed and always will. Parts of the Universe may be created or annihilated, may undergo expansion or contraction, but the infinite fractal hierarchy remains unchanged overall, and thus is without any temporal limits, subatomic particles that are exchanged between matter and create force infinite: not limited by space or time.
The next thing was a splash! I love the colour of the water and sunlight. I like the flash of red on her collar.
And drying out my feet.
Having been turned back from Zebra Slot by unexpected high water, I contemplate a "revenge hike" for next year.
Also on my Revenge Hike list is Neon Canyon due to high water and Lick Wash due to rain.
Talula Tripod helped with this photo by holding my camera still. Talula doesn't care about revenge.
Me and my ace friend Becks collaborating on a project that we tackle slowly and bit by bit. The project will circle around the idea of how our society perceives the representation of gender roles and how the lines between male and female are blurred since gender fluidity becomes more and more representative. It's still a work in progress but we are excited to experiment on more ideas in the future!
