I was worried when we paddled by Lightning Creek Bridge that the sign said "No jumping", I was happy to see it only said "No Fishing", its just too great of a bridge not to jump. I walked out on an adjacent cliff to capture shots of the boys jumping off. Here they are working up the courage. Its one thing to rush up to the bridge and quite another to look over the edge and see its a long way down.
A Western Lowland Gorilla ponders after snacking on some tasty treats. I believe this might be "Josephine", but I confess I'm not sure.
I love that this subspecies of Gorilla has the scientific name Gorilla gorilla gorilla.
This is my mate Ed, he has a small studio near my house so I popped round a took some of him at work.

After visiting the Elah Valley (the site of the showdown between David and Goliath), I spent some time considering the giants I wrestle with in my own life. The truth is, it was not David who defeated Goliath, but the God of Israel. How often do we attempt to wrestle giants on our own strength? When we do, we will likely quake, tremble, and give up, just as the rest of the Israelites did. What made David so special? He didn't see a big giant. Rather, he saw a bigger God.
I am thankful for a big God.
On a technical note... I prepared all the settings for the camera and handed it off to Irene for this shot. However, I forgot to turn the circular polarizer filter, so the sky didn't darken down as much as I'd like. I tried to fix this in post, but it would have been better if I'd gotten it right the first time.
