This is my ghost contribution to Halloween. I swear I was sitting on that chair (which I own and love) but I got up after 4 seconds while the exposure was for 8. I moved fast enough so the cam would not record the movement. (this is for those who questioned whether I actually was sitting down).

A man overlooks the white cliffs of Beachy Head, Sussex. Meanwhile, birds fly by as the sun tries to break through the clouds.
This composition materialised in front of me pretty quickly and disappeared as quickly as it came. It has a few components that I'm always a fan of - sun rays, birds and distant silhouettes. Far from being a slamdunk, however, I mucked around for ages deciding whether the gloomy day had provided enough in the way of colour saturation. Part of me was really attached to the idea of making a colour version work and while I think I got most of the way there, it seems that my gut instinct - that this one would lend itself best to b&w - prevailed.

My carpenter hubby contemplating "layout" of some trim he is finishing in the house.
We are confronted with the profound realization that every event, every choice, and every experience is a ripple in the vast ocean of existence, leaving its mark on the ever-changing canvas of the universe forever.
All my life I have always got by on 4 or 5 hours sleep but it is only in the last few years that I have realised the benefits that have accrued because of this. It is too late obviously for me to reset my life's pattern if I had wanted too anyway.
Vigeland Sculpture Park is located in Oslo, Norway, The park covers 80 acres and features 212 bronze and granite sculptures created by Gustav Vigeland.
Vigeland personally sculpted every figure and individual craftsmen were contracted to fabricate the pieces into what they are today.
Day 229. Ugh. I've clean run out of ideas today and hit the wall. So I sat looking at the wall..... and hoping I might have some more inspiration tomorrow.
a la 50’s vintage which includes me. The pot holders were sewn by me in 1970 or so. The charming holiday cookbooks are from my husband’s maternal grandmother. Note the 1955 boozy drink book - cheers to Dave! The others are from 52 and 54.

That was strange! According to Xplore stats (a Flickr Add-On) the photo above got an Explore and then didn't!

A bit like being told you've won the lottery (well a tiny bit) and then being told it was just an admin error.
Something to think about - as is the fact that the title hasn't changed since I first posted the image!

Built 100 years ago in 1916, The Gandier Church, Keldon Ontario is starting to show signs of extreme failure. This congregation of a pioneer community formerly Presbyterian latterly United Church, closed some years and moved to nearby Monticello. Left to ruin the building showing its age and the effects of the extreme weather in these parts.
