Summer Series #6

Was really lucky to get an almost completely still Swan River on my first morning there, coupled with some great light!

Semi natural tide pool in the secluded cove of Woody Bay on the Exmoor coast.

 

He did go for a swim, water was very cold and those black dots on the water are swarms of mossies, very brave.

Built 100 years ago in 1916, The Gandier Church, Keldon Ontario is starting to show signs of extreme failure. This congregation of a pioneer community formerly Presbyterian latterly United Church, closed some years and moved to nearby Monticello. Left to ruin the building showing its age and the effects of the extreme weather in these parts.

One place you might hope to find solitude and the mental room for contemplation is at a museum or art gallery.....places that seem to demand a different kind of behavior than in a restaurant or a mall or other bustling public space. These two women sit quietly, speechless, as they think about a painting at The Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museum in San Francisco.

 

The painting by the Flemish master Peter Paul Rubens is titled "The Massacre of the Innocents". Painted in 1611, this grotesque scene depicts the episode of the biblical Massacre of the Innocents of Bethlehem, as related in the Gospel of Matthew (2:13-18).

This is my ghost contribution to Halloween. I swear I was sitting on that chair (which I own and love) but I got up after 4 seconds while the exposure was for 8. I moved fast enough so the cam would not record the movement. (this is for those who questioned whether I actually was sitting down).
