This is a self portrait I have done a while back. The image came before the series of images which can be found here.
I was at my experimentation stage looking at different reflective surfaces that would give unique reflections which perhaps would be distorted to add to the mood of the work. As I was rummaging round the work shop I found a banged up piece of copper sheet which was rusted because water had spilled down it, so I decided to clean it up in areas and see what I would get. This was the result which I am actually happy about.
I was trying to get a somewhat sad contemplative mood, which I hope that I captured here.
The only photoshop done here was color corection. The layers you see here are caused by shooting this image from a direct reflection.
We visited North Beach in San Francisco today for the annual North Beach festival, and spent some browsing books in the famous City Lights Bookstore - the hangout of the Beat Generation in the 50's and 60's. It's is a fascinating, eclectic place, still thriving in the days when people buy their books on-line for their Kindle.
My daughter is also a reader with varied interests like me.
Yes, it's a real book (and no we didn't buy it) :)

One of Mojo's favourite places is sitting or lying on top of the old Singer sewing machine. It's her best place to contemplate on things in her life and, of course, keep an eye out for intruders coming through the back door catflap:-)
An end to another awful week, but we are off to Rome next weekend to see Omar and Gnorri, oh and Claudia - lol. so that is definitely something to look forward to.
Our computer is back at home, just a case of putting all the plugs back in!

Our latest adventure was incredibly still . We decided to venture somewhere new , somewhere scenic . Winter is creeping in slowly and grabbing the freezing cold paddle was unbearable at first but soon become tolerable .
We drifted slowly to un uncredible forest surrounding and being there was simply magical . We soon learned fishing was going to be a massive challenge although watching fish rise to the surface kept our hearts beating .
I landed a small jack pike after many cast , fishing deep and twitching the cannibal shad . Then Glen hooked one of those perch , a welcome catch to say the least .
We eventually ventured out on the main loch , with not a breath of wind in sight . Glen’s fish finder was showing millions of fish right down in the abyss but we could only dream of catching one .
We pursued our journey close to the bankside and I managed another bite . This time another small pike , twice as big as the first one but still a pike . Togg headed home earlyish and we kept on thrashing the still water .
In this trip we certainly learned how to keep calm . Perfectly still and breathtaking sceneries . Where’s next ?

"I sat cross-legged in the sand and contemplated my life. Well, there, and what difference did it make? "What's going to happen to me up ahead?"

deGull contemplates three of the nine bridges crossing the River Usk at Newport / Casnewydd, Wales / Cymru. The George Street Bridge, the first cable-stayed bridge in Britain, the City Bridge and the Newport City Footbridge in front of the new riverside campus of the University of Wales.
Was really lucky to get an almost completely still Swan River on my first morning there, coupled with some great light!
Although the number of photos taken by the Germans of dead opposition soldiers vastly outnumber those of German dead, there are still a number of examples of German dead photographed by the Germans. These dead seem to have grenade sacks that suggest that they were assault troops caught in the open with their gear. The dealer stated that research suggested this photo was taken in 1917 near Fresnoy but the reverse is blank.
