Just a comparison including the E50, N73, N95 and N93.

Several were in agreement, Joel is just a big show-off. Way too talented for soap carving, this one... Seriously, he put all this detail in with one little pocket knife.

The annual Schwaklakk Soap Carving party was March 8th this year. The Watson's of Edgerton have been sponsoring this "holiday" for 13 years now. This is one of Joel's creations this year. He has a rare talent for ivory soap carving.

as you can see there are a lot of big noticeable differences Basic is more pale and Haunted is a cream pearl sort of colour, Basic has translucent hands and feet, Haunted is different they are a sort of different colour to the rest of her but not clear in anyway.

Here's a comparison photo. I know I found photos like these to be very useful when I was buying part for my dolls, so I'm hoping this will be useful for someone else.

Much less finger lift on the new keyboard, the space bar in particular is just more comfortable.

Today was a good day for comparison pictures. :) I took all of these in front of two very bright windows (a corner of our house), on a nice cloudy day so there were no overly harsh shadows. I also did not post process any of this group-they are all straight from my camera. I took them on manual settings on my DSLR. Some look a bit different exposure-wise...I think I need more practice taking pictures of the tan. Hopefully these are interesting and/or useful for a few people! If anyone would like other pictures, do not hesitate to ask!

Leg tan comparisons. Tbh, Char was the only person who noticeably chaned colour on the first day, and not for the better :p

Comparison of the PS3 browser with the Wii browser.

Same post as the one I took a picture of in the other picture; same camera, same lens. Text size bumped up to +1 so that it matched the Wii browser a little more closely.

The peice of type shown was posted on Letpress, with a request for identification. I found the printed version in an early Bruce type foundry specimen book. My guess is that the piece of type (the image of which I reversed for the comparison) is very early 19th century, perhaps as early as 1819.

This is a comparison between my modified undamaged Predator mask and the unmodified damaged one. With these mods the mask is pretty damn close to screen accurate I think. Now I just need to add the wires/tubes to the side of the mask. Here's what I did:

- The first thing I did was remold the mask in near-boiling water. I basically just pulled the cheeks apart which in turn causes the crown to lower and curve back more and the chin to be pulled in so it's not so pointy.

- I then ground down the inside of the mask with a dremel tool. Mostly shaving down the inside of the cheeks which are meant to grab onto the sides of the face.

- I then lined the mask with carpet tape as it will no longer stay on without assistance. I also don't put the mandibles on when the mask is on. They take up too much room and make even the modified mask stick out at the chin.

As I was washing my new coffee pot I realized it was a good deal bigger than my pitcher. Upon grabbing my yellow pitcher I realized that my turquoise pitcher is actually the smaller size! So, now I must search for the bigger sized pitcher instead of the small one! Hehe :)

An image of my neighbour, Katie, in her nurse's uniform. She looks so proud and she's barely changed in 40 years, which makes for a brilliant comparison!

This is a comparison i wish to made from time, you can see the difference between the NS from Soom company.

Left image, NEF as interpreted by iPhoto (the original in ViewNX 2 looked just as bad). Right image, jpeg produced by ViewNX 2 after processing (Auto Axial Color Aberration = 75, Auto Lateral Color Aberration on, Color booster Nature = 8, sharpness = 1, Exposure Comp. = -0.5) and viewed in iPhoto.

I posted this one here, because I've read about people post processing, and with this series of shots, I realized just how important post processing can be. I guess I was surprised at just how much a few simple adjustments in ViewNX 2 can help (though I still don't enjoy using ViewNX 2).

Side by side with one I did using a chisel and the wood block.

The one on the right is one shaped with the chisel. As you can see, the crease lines are not as crisp or clean.

Although the press is not exactly period, it does make a nice, clean line.

Comparing Rosencrantz, my DoT Camine, and Suigintou. R's got a bit of an unfair height advantage but he's still taller. I wanted to take a pic of both of them without shoes but I can't trust R to stand shoeless.
